I hope everyone is all right? Over the last few weeks, I've been working on the new version of the game, the one I mentioned earlier, with a number of improvements I've been meaning to make for some time. I'm happy to say that most of it is done. Some changes were easy to make, others were more complicated than expected, but in the end, I've got the result I wanted.

To be more explicit, this new version will have:

 

- Better graphics for chapters 1 and 2. I've corrected the worst of my beginner's mistakes. The quality is now closer to what you get in the most recent chapter.

 

- I've also changed the opening menu, and the option menu. You can see both in the images attached to this post. And yes, the opening menu is the same one I used here recently, I thought it was much better than the previous one I used, so I decided to change it.

 

- There's also a gallery menu now, so you can replay the previous H-scene you've seen.

 

- A new conversation at the end of Chapter 4 with Theresa, so the MC can ask several questions about the Prime Minister and her background. I've tried to add the same questions I've seen a few times here and there, but if you want to see more, well... the comments section is there for you.

 

- There's also the option, when you start a new game, to jump straight to the part where you have to select the heroine you want to romance. Obviously, I wouldn't recommend this option to anyone who hasn't played the first part of the game. It's for people who have chosen a specific route, who haven't saved before, and who don't want to start at the beginning to see a new heroine's route.

 

- I thought about adding something at the beginning to clarify what kind of game it is, what to expect, that sort of thing. It seemed to me that some people were a bit confused by the fact that there was a different path for each heroine. In the end, I didn't. When I tried to add it, I thought after experimenting that the beginning was becoming a little too heavy, especially with the addition of the previous point. So this element has been cancelled for the time being.

 

Now what? As much as I'd like to publish this new version now, there's one point missing, the orthography and grammar corrections. I'm not the one working on it, and the person helping me needs a little more time. So... no choice but to wait. The good news is that I can concentrate entirely on the new chapter, the one centered on Saki's story. Next time, I'll probably give some news about that.

Here we go with a few words on what I've been up to recently.

There are currently two main things I need to work on. The first is the release of the new version with the improvements I mentioned previously. And the second is the release of the new chapter of Saki's story. 

And… I've been working on both at the same time. Probably not the wisest choice...? Well, the script for Saki story had already been started, and I wanted to finish it. It's over now. It took me a while to get there, the first draft wasn't good enough, so I had to redo a lot of things, but now it's good.

As for the improved version, I've started work on that too. I've done a lot of the improvements I wanted on chapters 1 and 2, so that part's good. I'm going to work on the new scene with the Prime Minister, I'm going to try and give some answers about her past. I'm also going to start to work on a gallery system. This is something that's been asked for in the comments, and I think it's a good idea to add one.

And then, here's come the poll. The result is pretty close, the majority wants me to concentrate on the new chapter, but just after that, a lot of you want me to work on the romance building aspect. There were enough people who wanted that second point that I want to do something about it. The problem is... I'm really not sure what people want... ? I'm not saying that everything is perfect, but I think it would be a mistake to go into it without a clear idea. For example, I can add things about Angelica's story, but… if that's the part most people don't want me to touch? And if what I add makes things worse because I didn't quite understand what you guys wanted? 

One person complained that we had to accept Chaos deal to advance the romance with the heroine, and while I understand the complaint, it's something that's necessary to the story I have in mind... so I really hope it's not that... ?

Anyway, if it's something different, I'll need some hints as to what exactly you guys are expecting? The comments are there, I'll read them and... we'll see. If everyone has the same idea, it’ll be pretty easy, if not, I’ll find something.

As I've already said, I'm currently working on an improved version of the game. I've listed the things I want to work on, but I also want to hear what you guys have to say. So here's a list. Choose the part that you think needs the most attention. Feel free to leave a comment to give more detail if you have something specific in mind. 

Oh, and just to be clear, I'm going to look at the result in terms of who actively supports and who doesn't. Everyone's opinion will count, but the people who support the game with their money will take priority. I'm sorry if you disagree, but I wouldn't be able to continue if these people weren't there, and I think it's right that they have the biggest impact when it comes to making important decisions.

I hope everyone is doing well? As for me, I've started working on Saki's story. It's coming along well so far. It's just the beginning though. However, before going all out, I'd like to work on something like an intermediate version, with no new content, but with improvements to what already exists.

After the last release, I received a lot of positive feedback, for which I'm very grateful, but also a few complaints. As much as I want to please everyone, I can't agree on everything, accepting the change some people want would go directly against the core idea of this game. However, there are many things I can work with. So here's what I'll add:

- A message when you start a new game to explain that there will be four individual routes + a bonus harem ending. I found out it deserve some explanation, as everyone didn’t understand what the game is supposed to be. I suppose I could have explained things better. I think there’s also the fact that everyone isn’t familiar with the concept. Anyway, it's better to have a clear idea of what this game is from the start... So here we go. 

- When you start a new game, a way to jump directly to the choice you have in front of the gate created by Chaos, so you can skip the first part of the story. That way, if someone wants to try another route, but didn’t have any previous save to do so, they’ll just have to start a new game and choose the right option. They’ll be able to choose the route they’ll want and go for it immediately. 

- Better graphics for chapters 1 and 2 (especially 1). I think I’ve made some progress since the beginning, and… I can't help but cringe when I look at my first renders of this game. So I'm going to make a few improvements. It won't be the whole thing, and it won't be some breathtaking change, as I need to keep an overall coherence with the rest, but the renders I consider to be really bad will be improved. 

- Grammar correction for chapters 1 to 4. I had help for a while on this side, with someone helping me to correct grammatical errors. But the priority has always been the arrival of the new chapters. I think it's time to concentrate on the old part. This new version will incorporate the corrections of the first four chapters.

- A few explanations about the Prime Minister's background. This is something many of you have asked for. So here we go. I think the best I can do at this stage will be to add something directly in the game, a special scene where the MC will have different questions he can ask. It will probably be an optional scene, those who want to know more will be able to choose the question they want, those who aren't interested will be able to skip the whole thing. I don't know yet how this scene will be integrated, maybe in chapter 4, maybe with the second part of Melope's story... I’m still hesitating. 

- And finally… what you guys want…?

I'm going to create a poll, so people can decide what kind of improvements they'd like to see. I'll be suggesting several options, better sex scenes, better build-up for romantic interactions, better fight scenes, more information about the background of this universe, etc.... Feel free to leave a comment if you have a specific idea in mind. I won't say I'll take everything, but as long as it helps improve the game without changing it completely, it could very well be in the poll.

If this method is successful… who knows, I'll probably try to do it again, so even if your idea doesn't make the cut for now, it may appear another time. We’ll see.

About Melope chapter 5

I was worried that Theresa's popularity would take a hit after this chapter, and it turns out I was right judging by some of your comments. There's still a lot to be said about her character though, and I'm still hoping she'll be interesting enough that people want to see her story. But if it really feels like no one wants to see her route, then I'll be forced to change my plans. We'll see…

Unlike Angelica's story, Blackstorm was more active this time around. The consequences for our protagonists, and Melope in particular, are clearer. There's also a bit of drama, as you could see. 

There wasn't much action this time. Part 2 of Melope's story will have more fight scenes, so if you like them... you'll just have to wait, I guess. 

This chapter was also difficult in that it alternates comic and serious moments. Melope probably has the saddest story of all the heroines, yet she's a character with a lot of jokes around her. It's not easy to deal with, but I didn't have many complaints about that part, so I guess it was okay? I hope it was…

About what’s coming next

I'm currently working on Saki’s story, our Sword Princess was the winner of the latest poll. As you know, her journey will involve Swordsman as her main enemy. Unlike the other S-levels, the MC and Swordsman have a kind of connection. They're both great sword wielders, and can say they're similar in some way, so expect a bit of development on that side.  

Each heroine has a different reaction after the famous "erotic dream". Saki is... a bit angry. Let's put it that way. You'll find out more at the beginning of her story. 

Before releasing the next chapter, I'd like to propose a new version of the game with a few improvements. I'll talk about it soon. 

That's all I have to say. Thanks for the positive and/or constructive feedback I've received. There's still a lot of work to be done, and probably a lot of areas in which I need to improve, my goal hasn't changed, to make the best game I can.
