Hello amazing people! I really hope that you are all doing well! I hope that you are ready and full of coffee, cause this update and its post are the biggest ever made on this project haha!
Since I was working on so many features, it took a lot of time to complete them all for this version. I understand that waiting for so long for a new version can feel frustrating, and I will try my best to come up with in-between versions like I was doing previously.
But [debugging everything + making a build + compressing and uploading + making screenshots + writing this post + updating the Discord, Patreon, and SubscribeStar] takes time (it's often, like today, an entire day of work), that's why I often do it when my creative flame burns low... But since last time, my creative flame never burned low haha. I made the most of every workday that I got! I hope that this new version will bring you joy!
LUCID LUST v0.3
NEW MAIN MENU CREDIT
It came to my attention that some supporters were not happy with how the main menu credits worked. For example, some people felt robbed when they gave money and didn't appear in the credits just because there were no new versions while they were actively financially supporting the project.
For this, I completely changed the way credits work, and from now on Lucid Lust will credit every supporter, no matter if active or former!
Credits are now going to only be updated once every "big" version (0.4, 0.5, etc.) and your name size will directly depend on your lifetime money given amount!
Q: I donated so much, my name should be way bigger than that!A: The size effect caps at a $50 total donation, this way everybody's name can fit in haha! Also, the names order still reflects the support amount given and the top 5 supporters get their own line! Q: I barely can read my name!A: You will need to play in 4K if you want to be able to read $5 supporters.Q: My name is missing/wrongly spelled and/or I want to change it/don't want it to appear at all!A: Don't hesitate to send me a message and it will be changed for the very next version! Keep in mind that this credit has not yet been shown in a public version so please don't sue me haha!
NEW AND UPDATED FEATURES
HAIR!
Improved the Hair! Improved dynamic lighting + Optimized the hair shader even more + Fixed past Nvidia/Mac Issues! The Scalp Color is also more accurately following Hair Root Color now! It was way too bright before, mostly with bright lights, now it should always be below 5% of value difference whatever the light conditions!
EYES!
Drastically improved eye reflection and how their refraction works! The eyes are now way more realistic and seem more alive, I also fixed some internal shader issues that could cause some optimization issues with some hardware.
EXPRESSIONS!
Revamped the mood system! Now when you switch a character expression, you will see that the body pose resets, that's because the expression system now makes use of the same animation system as the body. To make it short, this simply means that expressions are way less limited than ever before; I added a lot of new expressions to showcase this!
CLOTHES!
Improved the Clothing System! No more clothes clipping with the skin, whatever the outfit and the position! This was achieved with several methods all applied at once to deliver the best dynamic clothing experience possible! Also, clothes are now configured automatically by my home-made import system, so if you still get clipping, please report the issue with those informations (outfit + girl code + position); I can fix clothes values manually, but I sadly can't test the thousands of possibilities haha!
ENVIRONMENT!
Because the characters can't be the only thing that gets more beautiful! Created a fully dynamic reflection system with area-based detection which gives a realistic and updated reflection in every room! Since this has been all set manually, it 100% can still be perfected, so don't hesitate to tell me if you spot something off somewhere!
MIRRORS!
True 1:1 realtime reflections! A first mirror iteration has been placed in the newly implemented bathroom, don't hesitate to take a look!
LIGHTS!
Scenario Creator lights have been revamped. Lights now should be more than ever closer to real-world values. In addition, spawnable lights intensity can now be set much higher (up to 500 candelas/6200 lumens).
AUDIO!
Better and more immersive sounds! Created and implemented a fully dynamic acoustic system that will affect sounds depending on their space placement (you can try to move the piano/play SFX with the Audio System around to see this in effect), this way, making the same-sex scene in the bathroom and the bedroom will sound realistically different (volume, reverb, echo, etc.)!
UI!
Improved the 3D selection detection! The cursor now detects everything in front of it and returns the first selectable/selected object, previously it only returned the first detected object. Now, you will not be blocked by any non-selectable objects, including walls for example.
OPTIMIZATION!
Optimized everything! From big things like furniture and lights dynamic culling to small details like Eyelashes shader and assets load, I spent a lot of time optimizing the project! Most of Lucid Lust should now run smoother than ever before!
NEW THINGS TO DO
Character Load System (added to the character modifying screen)
Added a second Lucid Girl so that you can load and play with two characters Future versions will allow you to spawn up to 12 characters in a scene, but I have to fix every bug that could be found in this version first!
Outfit Selection (added to the character modifying screen)
You can now select what premade outfit characters are wearing! Once the Outfit Creator is there, those premade outfits will be replaced by your own customized outfits, giving you the freedom to tell any story imaginable!
Weather system first iteration
You can now set windows light colors and strength (via color value) as well as global illumination gradient as step parameters!
Dynamic Architecture
The first Room now has selectable curtains with 3 different states to select from (step parameter)! Doors now have selectable states and animations (also step parameters of course)!

EVERY KNOWN ISSUE
Most Lucid Girl Eyes bones movements are limited to 100% shape slider values; meaning that "unrealistic" values on sliders making the eyes move will give you clipping with some expressions. Also, some Lucid Girl Eyes positions are a bit inaccurate, making the eyes clipping with some values (even realistic values). This will be fixed when I have the faith to put an entire day into re-entering eye bones' location values for every shape affecting eyes.
The character modifying screen (in the Scenario Creator) will not update between the two girls, this is because I first need to finalize the entire screen before making it registers in the step save system. So as long as this screen is not final, you will have to bear the non-updating values haha, sorry! Also, the character load system will have its own menu since this will not be a step parameter but a global one; I will also be looking at making a global character menu to make the process of creation easier (for example, teleport any character to the current view, show/hide characters, etc.)!
Off-screen pieces of furniture will not reflect anywhere (floor, eyes, mirrors, etc.)! If you need for furniture to be reflected, the furniture should be seen by the camera, for at least one pixel! This can be fixed (in a hacky way) but LL would then run 4 to 8% slower depending on the context. I could add the "reflect even off-screen furniture" to the graphic settings, but losing up to 8% fps for this doesn't seem like a good idea for me. Plus, getting the same things showing on-screen whatever the graphics settings are, is one of my biggest preoccupations! No one wants to tailor an entire scenario for it to be shown differently to players.
The floor is not done, I'm waiting until every room is final before modeling the floor map!
Body piercings are still heavily WIP. Issues are expected, and the positioning process will be heavily changed in the future (making it follow body shape + making it compatible with any body size)

Because many people asked me what I was working on during the last month (certainly because this update took a lot of time haha), here is what I have planned to work on for the next version in addition to fixing issues:
- Adding more spawnable object styles + furniture options + architecture interaction
- Adding new expressions and new poses + finding a way to make poses customizable (by popular demand haha)
- Adding yet another new way to customize every haircut (this time in a 3D way!)
- Adding new Lucid Girls options + Finalize the Lucid Girl Creator version to v1.0 (meaning that codes will never change ever again, yay haha).
Once the Scenario Creator options are all implemented and fully tested, I will create the dialogue system; everything will take shape from there! Before having a fully functional Scenario Creator, I will certainly work on a Scenario Preview that will showcase a simple playable scenario; this way you will have an example of what you will be able to do, and you will also be able to tell me what would need to be changed in that scenario example to feel perfect. This way I could add those options to the Creator itself! But rest assured that I'm already planning on a LOT of features, from speed of text to camera transition, we are going to achieve big things haha!
