Hardenville - Update
Hey everyone,
I wanted to share a proper update with you all. First of all, I’m doing much better lately, and over the past months I’ve spent a lot of time practicing, reflecting, and planning ahead. Reading your messages and community posts also helped me reconnect with my excitement for this project, so thank you for that.
After a lot of thought, I’ve decided that Hardenville will continue development as a full reboot rather than picking up where it left off.
When I first started the project 3–4 years ago, I was still learning DAZ, Ren’Py, and AVN development in general. At the time, I was happy with what I made, but looking back, the project lacked proper structure, planning, and polish. The story felt unfocused, the scenes were messy and poorly optimized, and I was trying to do too many things at once. I made several attempts to fix Episode 2 and improve earlier mistakes, but it never came together in a way I felt proud of.
So instead of continuing something that felt too rough and inconsistent, I’m choosing to start fresh and rebuild Hardenville properly using everything I’ve learned about rendering, scene building, storytelling, and progression.
The reboot will begin with Episode 1 rather than a prologue, taking inspiration from the original opening but improving it significantly.
Current roadmap:
Episode 1: The Wedding (2026)
Episode 2: Honeymoon + Vacation Part 1 (hopefully late 2026)
Episode 3: Honeymoon + Vacation Part 2
Episodes 4–5: Back in Hardenville
All characters will move from Genesis 8/8.1 to Genesis 9, which opens the door for better assets, improved realism, and a smoother workflow overall. They won’t look exactly the same, but they’ll remain faithful to their original designs, personalities, relationships, and identities.
The goal is to keep the original charm of Hardenville while rebuilding it in a much more polished, structured, and professional way.
Going forward:
Patreon and SubscribeStar will be temporarily paused and will reopen when the reboot’s Episode 1 is released. March will be the last monthly render for now so I can fully focus on development.
The game will remain on Steam and Itch.io. When the reboot releases, it will replace the current version, while the original version will remain available as free Legacy DLC.
Existing Steam and Itch.io owners will receive the reboot at no extra cost.
I’ll be posting 1–2 public progress updates per month here on Discord.
Future releases will be English only for now so I can stay focused on core development.
In the coming weeks:
Hardenville (Legacy) will receive one final update for the Prologue + Episode 1.
This update will include a large gallery of all monthly and special renders released so far, including variations.
It will be released on both Steam and Itch.io and clearly marked as the Legacy Edition.
This wasn’t an easy decision, but I truly believe it’s the right one. I’d rather rebuild Hardenville into something I can be proud of than keep forcing something that never felt good enough.

Episode 2 - Progress Update
Episode 2, featuring the wild and unforgettable house party, was originally planned for a May release, and we were so close! But life threw in a little twist, again: our dev got hit with two unexpected financial bills that needed urgent attention. That meant picking up extra work fast, which naturally slowed things down a bit.
Even during those hectic, sleepless nights, we kept pushing forward whenever we could, and the cool part? Some of that extra work actually turned into content we’ll be using in Hardenville! So nothing was wasted, and those bills are officially behind us.
Now, we’re back in full swing, and development is moving fast! Episode 2 is currently 84% rendered, so we’re closer than ever to wrapping it up and hitting that release button. Thanks so much for your patience and support, we’re nearly there!

Since we’re almost done with Episode 2, we wanted to give you a sneak peek of what’s coming next in the future episodes.
Episode 3 (Coming later this year!)
This one puts the spotlight on Johanna, Millie, and Emma, while still giving you some time with others as well.
Emma invites you out for a sunny day at the beach with her closest. Sounds great, right? Until you all realize it’s… a nude beach day. Do you leave? Or join in, one item at a time?
Johanna is feeling a little down lately. You’ve got two tickets to a local hockey match… and during a break, the kiss cam starts scanning the crowd. What happens next? That’s up to you.
Millie is deep into handball season, and her team is short a few players. Time to hit the court, and the locker room, as you help her team gear up for the final game.
Episode 4 The spotlight turns to your beloved Ariel, and yes, she’s an athlete too! Ariel, the swimmer, has invited you to train with her at the local public pool. That’s all we’ll reveal for now… but let’s just say it’s going to make a splash.

Episode 2 | Early 2025
Episode 2 is set to not only be the best release yet but also the one with the most content, the most lewd moments, the most romance, the best vibes, and the most wild, drunken fun so far.
As mentioned before, Episode 2 is crucial for the future of Hardenville and its continued progress. It is essential to justify the time and resources being invested in this project, which is why I must tread carefully and ensure its release is in the best possible condition.
I fully understand that the initial reaction to Episode 2 being scheduled for an early 2025 release might be one of disappointment. However, I encourage you to stay optimistic and trust that the extra time is being used to immerse you deeply in the story with high-quality renders, captivating writing, and atmospheric sound design. If I didn’t care deeply about making Hardenville the best it can be, I could have opted to release a shorter, unfinished, or "cheap" version of Episode 2—but nobody wants that. There are already many great AVNs out there, and my hope is for Hardenville to stand proudly among them someday.
On a positive note, I’m happy to announce that a small update for Episode 1 (Version 0.2.4) will be releasing soon. The entire script has been professionally proofread by an English expert, ensuring a smoother and more enjoyable reading experience. Moving forward, Episode 2 (Version 0.3.0) and all future updates will also undergo thorough proofreading to maintain high-quality storytelling and reduce any interruptions to your immersion in Hardenville.
