DEVLOG 1 - Introduction

I'm new to this whole Devlog thing so bear with me. If you're reading this ily and hope you have a great day!
I'm Idylunne, an artist, composer, and programmer, aka a solo dev. I'm primarily an Artist who wants to tell stories and give experiences on a grander scale. Also, I'm a degenerate 😉
Getting straight to the point I want to say I won't set any goals until I have a public build of my game. I could give the biggest TED talk on why I think my game will be great, but the actual game is all that matters. Upon full release, the game will be $15; But until then I will have early access and public builds spread a month apart. The biggest reason I want to start posting early is simply to get the information about my game out there. Genuinely I'll be surprised if anyone reads the devlogs before my first build release. I plan on releasing the first public build around November-December that will honestly be pretty bare bones compared to the grand scope of the game but it's mainly just for proof of concept.
With that out of the way
Everything listed below is in the game fundamentally. At this point, I mainly need to add content.
First things first, "freedom of choice" is the motto of the game. The Interloper is a 2D Adult (c)RPG with turn-based combat and the skin of a visual novel, made in RenPy. I plan on building the game alongside the players to make the most enjoyable experience. The game is set in a fantastical universe filled with sex, monsters, angels, gods, demons, many races, and more. I could do a lore dump, but I won't. Not yet at least. You will explore dungeons and hostile lands while interacting with a wide range of characters. Your choices...will...matter. I say this and I mean it. The game has a main narrative that you will always ultimately be a part of. However, the game is primarily comprised of numerous scenarios that forge the world(and yourself) based on your decisions. For example.
Minor SPOILERS
At the beginning of the game, you will encounter a barkeep. You will have the choice to continue the path of interacting with the barkeep or interact with others but I'll save the others for release. There are plenty of ways your interaction with the barkeep can go down. What you say and do will affect the choices provided to you. The paths vary from simply talking, to doing a job for her, killing her, assault, and more. If things ultimately end as they should you'll encounter a unique character. However, if things go south you'll have to play a game of hide the crime scene. This ultimately changes who you interact with and your "journey".
Safe
Most if not all of your actions are recorded as well as tied into your stats and alignment. There are 12 alignments and what your alignment is massively affects the world as well as how certain...people, respond to you. Almost every action has a reaction that you usually won't know immediately until you've gained a good understanding of the world.
Alright, let's get it out of the way
💦H SCENES💦
There will be lots, and lots, and lots of sex/lewd scenes. This can be achieved through many systems such as
- Relationships
- Assault
- Defeat/Victory
- Brothels
- Quest's
- Random Encounters/Scenarios
I'm not a good animator, as such everything will for the most part be static images. However, this gives more room for options. Most scenes will have multiple positions that you will be able to select and view. This, of course, affects relationships and scenarios the most. I'm against mixing combat and primary lewd content, for me at least it breaks the whole flow. Combat can be an appetizer but not the main dish. Dialogue will also be accompanied by most scenes. The player for the most part won't be visible during scenes, at most you'll see a shlong, maybe some hands. But the primary focus will be on the other person/s.

As well as many other kinks/themes will be in the game. Once I gain more players I'll do polls to see what people want and gravitate towards. No SCAT, I might, may, possibly, contemplate piss but It'll require a lot of noise. Of course no underage characters and only Anthropomorphic/Humanoid races. This includes races like Lamia, Centaurs, Slime, etc.
Classes
For starters, at the beginning of the game, the player will first select from four starting classes. Fighter, Mage, Hunter, Rogue. The starting classes serve as a foundation. Nothing is restricted by class. Everything is based on your actions, alignment, stats, and attributes. 10 main attributes will change and be affected by your starting class as well as others but that'll be explained in the game. After class selection, you will select your background from a list of options. You will gain bonuses primarily to your stats as well as having a unique tag for your character during certain scenarios.
Each class has 3 specializations that further create your identity. None of the specializations are locked to a class they are simply categorized by class. For example, a Berserker is under the Fighter class. Anyone at any time can invest in any spec. However, it will cost you PP(Power Points).
Weapons
There will be a total of 27 weapons...
Each weapon is categorized into 5 groups which is easier for buffs skills and just general management. Each of the 27 weapons, however, has its unique stats based on my combat logic. This again, will be shown in-game to test out. You can 1H, 2H, and Dual Wield as well as 1H + Shield. Weapons will have skills and techniques based on it's group and your martial style, another thing that will be explained upon release.
Armor
To keep things varied but simple for the player you will have two armor slots. Head and Chest. The stats will vary greatly from set to set and are based on my custom logic derived from the materials as well as the layers of armor/clothing applied. I haven't decided how far I'll go but as of now, each armor set has 3 Tiers. Each tier will look different than the last as well as have improved stats and more rune slots. This will be further explained upon release.
