Update - Progress so far
Hey everyone,
I'll be honest β the past few weeks have been incredibly demotivating. The recent actions by payment processors pressuring platforms like Patreon, Steam, and Itch into stricter content policies have really gotten to me. Even though my game shouldn't be affected by these changes, seeing this kind of censorship happening across the industry has still been really disheartening. It's been hard to find motivation to post updates, but life goes on, and I'm still making good progress on the game.
As you know, I've published the public roadmap.
Here's what I've been working on:
I finished updating the inventory system to address the issue with items being removed from inventory at the end of each adventure. It now has equipment slots for each equipment type, a backpack, and slots for consumables to use in combat.
I also fixed the issue with combat order sometimes being calculated incorrectly and enemies having drastically more turns before the player can act.
I've done some planning and initial setup for the boss scene - it will have 3 animations.
The plot is getting updated in the next release as well. Some of you noticed I started updating it in the latest one, so I'm planning to finish these changes next.
I'm planning to release a public demo along with the next update.
This brings me to something I'd like your opinion on: How do you feel when updates get leaked? Does it demotivate you as someone who supports me? SubscribeStar has a decent API for protecting game builds, and it's not a big deal for me to enable it. Supporters would just need to pass a short verification once in a while.
Please share your thoughts in the comments or on my Discord.
Thanks for sticking with me through all this.
Update - Progress and Plans
Hey all!
Hope you've had a chance to enjoy the latest release of Lecherous Village. Work on the next update is going full steam ahead, and I wanted to take a moment to share the progress and plans with you.
A few players have provided valuable feedback, so I'll be addressing the highlighted issues in the next update.
Combat
As some of you pointed out, turn order isn't well-balanced right now. While it depends on initiative (calculated by Agility and Intelligence stats), there's still a chance that the player's turn will be delayed.
In the next update, I'll be using a more deterministic approach. Character turn order and number of turns will depend entirely on initiative.
Scenes
Currently, there's no way to skip the repeatable parts of events and jump straight to the scene selection.
I'm adding a Skip Button to the event UI. Once you've unlocked the first scene in an event, the skip option will become available for subsequent scenes.
Adventure
Currently, equipment received during adventures gets removed when you return to Wolfpine. This creates difficulty spikes and causes a lot of frustration.
I'm introducing a new itemization system. I'm currently updating the inventory system, adding dedicated equipment slots for different gear types, plus backpack slots. Items will have randomly rolled stats and won't disappear when adventures end.
I've also put together a roadmap for the game.
It's still a work in progress, but you'll be able to see what's planned for the next release and beyond. I'll keep updating the roadmap, so feel free to check back regularly.
That's all for now. Stay tuned for more updates, and you are welcome to drop by my Discord to say hi!
Also, if you haven't already, please wishlist the game on Steam. It helps more than you can imagine.
