Hello one and all, a short update this month.
Coming out into free/public release is the Pendulum Element! It currently has both the Coin and Pocketwatch versions that users of the previous version would recognize, however for now the Pocketwatch does not have the options to show spirals, rings, patterns, etc, that were in the previous version (much like a real pocketwatch, really). These will be added at a later date. They are not difficult, just fiddly.
This will be the last update for, at the very least, three (3) months. See my update here for more information on what that is about.
Even though development will be on hiatus, if you are making cool Programs with Hypno.exe I would love to see them (to help development, strictly professional), as would other users! The Hypno.exe Discord has a channel for requesting and sharing Programs (you can export them as .hypnop
files and upload them through Discord directly) and it would be amazing to see some of the thing people have created, even with the limited toolset at this time.
Until next time, with love,
d/Dev <3
Hello everyone, I hope April has treated you well!
Better than it has treated me at least; less than thrilling news this month.
For the next few months I will be pausing Paterson/SubscribeStar and scaling back work on Hypno.exe
Not forever! But for a while. Some rather unfortunate and most unpleasant circumstances have arisen in my life this year, and sadly my commitments and energy will be sorely needed elsewhere for the time being. Hypno.exe is regrettably low on my hierarchy of needs at this time.
This will be, at a minimum, around three (3) months, quite possibly more.
This is not to say development will stop entirely, however I cannot possibly maintain any regular release cadence, and as such cannot justify keeping any crowdfunding active.
Whether I make small releases during this period, or if I just save up for a big release upon my return, remains to be seen. I will most likely update ButtplugUE for Unreal 5.6 which will almost certainly release in that time as well.
I am always happy to hear from you all, and I will still be around on my various SNS pages, so feel free to reach out if the mood takes you.
Again, this is not "goodbye", this is "see you later".
So, see you later <3

Hello everyone, well done surviving yet another month!
This month's public release is a doozy: Image Importing! The long await, feature-that-killed-the-previous-version release!
Seriously, this single Element took two whole months of work and still nearly did not make it. I like to think it is now both stable and versatile, so it you encounter any issues contrary to that please let me know. I will not be defeated by this damnable feature again.
Look forward to next month (I am not asking) when you get the Pendulum back in action.
And once again, if you are making cool Programs with Hypno.exe, I would love to see them (to help development, strictly professional), as would other users! The Hypno.exe Discord has a channel for requesting and sharing Programs (you can export them and upload them through Discord directly) and it would be amazing to see some of the thing people have created, even with the limited toolset at this time.
As always, please consider supporting development on either Patreon or SubscribeStar (or even a one-off on Ko-Fi). Every little bit helps both materially and psychologically. If that is not something you are able or willing to do, kind words through some social media platform are also always welcome and encouraging.
Changelog:
# Added
- Import Image Element!
- You can now import your own images into a Program and display it proudly/melt minds.
- Basic for now, will be expanded upon.
# Updated
- Turned off Instanced Stereo: I turned it on in anticipation of supporting VR in the distant future but in the present it was stopping people will older GPUs from being able to use Hypno.exe at all. Will burn this bridge later.
Hello and a happy Lunar New Year to everyone. January has certainly been a month, and I hope everyone has survived it as we continue to march into the new year.
The version of Hypno.exe entering public release is 2024.12! That is right, I changed the numbering system for no other reason than that the old one was annoying me. A simple [year].[month].[hotfix]
system is incredibly convenient and straight forward. For reference, supporters are now getting version 2025.1.
2024.12 contains a big quality of life improvement: Autosaves. These will trigger every 10 minutes (configurable) if there are unsaved changes present, and will create an incremental save (up to 5 by default) but will not overwrite your actual saved Program. This seems like the most logical way to do this in my opinion, but feel free to let me know if you have any concerns or suggestions.
Finally, if you are making cool Programs with Hypno.exe, I would love to see them (to help development, strictly professional), as would other users! The Hypno.exe Discord has a channel for requesting and sharing Programs (you can export them and upload them through Discord directly) and it would be amazing to see some of the thing people have created, even with the limited toolset at this time.

Changelog:
## Added
- Autosave! Another highly (twice) requested feature: the settings in can be changed as desired.
- Autosave triggers whenever there are unsaved changes on the current Program
- Autosaves save every n minutes (user defined, default 10)
- Once a Program has been autosaved it will not be autosaved again until another change is made, but the Program will remain marked as "Unsaved"
- They also increment without overwriting your actual saved program (amount of increments is user definable, default is 5)
## Updated
- Supporter Credits is now automated from CSVs
- You will not see or experience this, but I will no longer need to update the supporters list manually, instead simply importing a CSV. Useful for when I eventually have thousands of supporters, right? Right?
## Fixed
- Bug where opening a Program while editing an Element could sometimes cause a crash
