Status Update on Lillivale! (August 2024)
Hello everyone of various sizes! Dredux here!
It's been a little while (over a year even!) since I last gave any update on the current status of Lillivale so I figured I would do just that. I had been trying to hold out on posting a status update like this until I actually had something for folks to play, but I figure it's been long enough that folks should get an update on the current status of things.
Starting off with the big question I've often been asked:
Dredux, is Lillivale still being worked on?
And the answer is yes, Lillivale is still very much in active development! I am still committed to turning all my horny plans for Lillivale into a reality, and am nowhere near done with it yet. I even have proof later in this post (in the form of sexy, juicy, numerical metrics and graphs~ π) if you scroll a bit farther down, but before that, onto the next big question...
But why is it taking so long for the next release?
Another great question, ephemeral, bodiless manifestation of the masses! The answer is twofold: the new scenes & mechanics I've been working on are complex, and sadly coding erotic video games doesn't pay the bills.
I've set a hefty bar for myself to reach in this next part of the game, and I am committed to meeting it, but with a full-time dayjob taking up most of my energy, my time to work on the game is far more limited than I would like. This could possibly change in the future if I end up making enough from patrons to make working on horny video games a full-time gig (wow that would be cool!), but until then I deeply appreciate everyone's patience <3
Well alright, but how much longer do we have to wait until the next release??
Well, in that regard I have both good and bad news! The bad news is that it's still likely gonna be a little while. But the good news is that I should have enough for at least a beta release soon! Which brings me to my next update...
Early Access Patron-Only Releases Coming Soon(ish)!
My goal for the next free public release of Lillivale has always been to release the next build once I have finished the second half of the prologue that takes place at the player's house immediately after the events at Asura Labs (that's right, the main story hasn't even really gotten started yet! Though the major pieces have already been laid out). This next segment will introduce a number of new mechanics, UI elements, and sexy scenes, setting the stage for the kind of gameplay the player can come to expect in the rest of the game.
That said, I realize that despite the great deal of progress I've made over the last year+ since v0.3, I still have quite a bit left to do. But I am just as excited for folks to start playing the next installment as I'm sure you all are, so rather than keeping everyone in suspense for another year+ of development, I'm toying with the idea of putting out early-access builds of what I have so far on a more frequent basis to paid patrons!

I don't want to get people's hopes up by committing to an unrealistic near-term date that I may not be able to meet, but I have a clear roadmap for what remains to get done for it and I think (provided no surprises) I could have it ready for folks to take a look at in next month or two (or three). No promises yet though!

A: Yes! Eventually! I am still committed to having each major release of Lillivale be free to play. If you're unable or don't want to pay for early access, that's totally fine (I still love you <3), it just means you will have to wait a little longer for the full release.
If you're strapped for cash or would rather wait to play the next finished release, then all you have to do is wait and eventually the next full release will be available!
But if you want a sneak peek at what's to come, want the chance to provide direct feedback while it's still in development, and/or just want to support me as a horny developer, then I invite you to become a paid patron once the early access build is ready!

That's right, I've been keeping track of my progress on Lillivale since I started working on it, both in Lines of Code and In-Game Words, and I wanted to share some of that with you all ;-). If numbers aren't your kink then you can probably skip to the end. But for the rest of you good boys, girls, bugs, and enbys...
As of August 2024...
- Total In-Game Words so far: 174,258 words (that's 42,490 words more than the last v0.3.1 release!)
- Total Lines of Code so far: 31,669 (that's 12,696 lines more than the last v0.3.1 release)
- Average Words Coded per Day in August '24: 339 words/day
- Average LoC Coded per Day in August '24: 85 lines/day
- And those sexy sexy graphs attached...
Phew, I need a minute to calm myself down after all that hot, raw data... I'm sure you all do as well ;)
