Thanks to the Dark Dreams team for this one! We had Kaeg on animation, Laarel on sound, and Mia on voice.
This was such a blast to work on. Having the whole team contributing was already a plus, but just seeing what Kaeg animated and them bringing it into VR... phenomenal. And wow did the VR version take forever to render. I think it was just under a week! It's also our first time bringing Aloy into VR, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Aloy really rides you like crazy.

With my travel over the past couple of weeks I didn't have a chance to re-render the non-VR version. There's some pretty obvious lighting changes between the VR version and non-VR version, but otherwise it gives you a pretty good idea of what you're in for and Kaeg knocked it out of the park. I don't like having to make such drastic changes, but sometimes thinks just don't work well in VR.
Much like the actual game, I had a blast bringing this into VR, and I think Kaeg enjoyed setting up the animation as well.

I love working with our team. Kaeg and Karissa have both been here pretty much since the beginning, and I've been lucky enough to get to know them over the years. It's videos like these that really shine through on why I enjoy working with them and seeing how they grow as artists! Working with a fresh model, breathing life into an old idea, and utilizing some lore from an in-game quest to add to it, all leading to a quality video.
This is the kind of stuff I like to bring into VR, because it allows us to immerse you into a world you love. Kaeg even went as far as to add an interaction from WoW to it. A small detail that people might not understand if they don't play WoW, but one that WoW players certainly will get.
All in all, this is why I love our studio.
