Tribute Story: A Tribute to Normal

Another Day.
Shower.
Get Dressed.
Go to work.

Echo hated to admit it to herself, but there were days that she didn’t see the point of it all. There was never enough time in the day; she felt like she was always rushing or being left out of things just because she worked as much as she had to. Coming out years ago, she had lost the majority of her friends and family; most said they hated her, others just didn’t want to accept her, while the few that stayed had slowly started to slip away because she was always too busy working. The highlight of the morning was seeing her wife sleeping in their shared bed. Echo made a point to come back into their bedroom before she rushed out for work to make sure that their two dogs had moved into her space. It was the best part of her morning.

Her clothes were chosen for a specific reason. Echo was tall and visibly strong. Not to mention being trans and built as she was, most people could read her, while others just misgendered her, too wrapped up in their world to be considerate. She picked clothes that made her feel cute, that had a bit of an infantile nature to them; it helped put people who paid attention at ease, plus it let her feel a small rush.

It seemed that where Echo lived, the only way she could make friends, or better to say, attempt to make friends, was through social media. As she walked out to her car, she scrolled through her feed, noticing a few likes from her post the past weekend. Nothing compares to the people she followed, who seemed to have the life she dreamed of. It was hard to feel a part of a community when your attempts to interact were met with silence, when, at the best of times, Echo felt that she just didn’t fit in the range of acceptable body types of the ABDL community.

There was a twinge, more of a stab of resentment, as she looked at the people who were so lucky as to have friends who shared a common interest and interacted with each other's posts. Even the desire to respond felt like she was forcing herself into the community, like everyone would assume she was lonely and pathetic for attempting to be a part of the ABDL communities.

So she just kept scrolling away, feeling the jealousy and the anger fill her mind. Everyone had friends, but she was alone, even her partner, her wonderful wife.

There was a moment, as Echo had put her hand on the car door, pausing before opening it, there was the doubt that her partner only put up with her kink because she felt like she had to. Echo felt compelled to ask and check in multiple times before she even became comfortable enough to put on a diaper or approach any type of CGl dynamic setting with her, always feeling like even though Oswin had said she loved to be a part of Echo’s little side, that Oswin was just too nice a person and Echo was taking advantage of her.

Why couldn’t it just be easier?

She just had to go to work; she could turn off her brain then, and just work.

The drive was always too long. Echo had looked for shortcuts, but on days like this, even the fastest route felt like it was three times longer. Echo had tried so many times to be a part of communities, but each one had ended with her slowly being pushed out. The Munches she had attended were filled with over other kinks and fetishes but zero folks even adjacent to ABDL, and most who talked to her had ended up being “Chasers”. Rolling her eyes, the only good part that was in her life was her small TTRPG group. They had all met by happenstance at a drop-in table, but they had become good friends, more or less. Meeting up once a week consistently was better than most regular players could dream of, so she was admittedly happy about it even in the most bitter of moments.

She let out a sigh, a long, drawn-out sigh of acceptance of a situation that would never change.

(It is what it is…)

At the same moment, she could have sworn she heard a man's voice say (I wish I were normal.)

The day had been long, too long. One of those days where you expect an hour to have passed, but it had only been 10 minutes. She had made it through it and was ready to head home. As she headed to the backroom to grab her purse, she felt something shift, not in the world per se, but in how she had to walk. It was familiar but also strange, she shouldn’t feel this way, not at work.

Echo’s attention zeroed in on her gate. She wiggled her legs. The backroom was empty, and in the silence, she could faintly hear a crinkle.

 (Am I…)

Echo reached behind herself, her hand trembled slightly as she touched her butt. The puffy softness of the diaper was impossible to miss. She gave the slightest bit of pressure, and she could hear the telltale crinkle, confirming what she was worried and confused about. She had to leave before someone noticed.

Echo went back to what was supposed to be a brief search for her purse before she realized her normal purse wasn’t there, but the other one, the special one, her partner had gifted her, was hanging on a hook out for everyone to see. The green dragon backpack, with a pink belly, the derpy “teef” as she called them, when her partner, Mommy, asked her. It wasn’t intended as a little thing, but it was so cute, and they had gotten it when Echo and Oswin had gone to a Chocolate and Coffee Festival. Oswin said she had never seen Echo so perfectly adorable in the moment she had handed Echo the dragon purse. Of course, Echo’s mommy had said it might be better for special occasions, so “Espresso” had rarely made it out of the house. However, here it was, out for the world to see.

Quickly, she walked up to the dragon, looping her arm through the strap before turning around, ready to rush out of the store, the faint crinkle chasing behind her as she did.

“Hey, wait a minute, Echo, before you go, you know the rules.” It was her boss. Echo wanted to curl into a ball. What rule did she forget? What was going to happen? Did someone hear her diaper? A literal torrent of questions flashed through Echo’s head as she slowly walked back towards her boss.

The woman was about five or six years older than Echo, but if she was honest, Echo instantly felt the woman was very attractive. Sav was average height for a woman, which meant she was shorter than Echo; she had a toned athletic build and a modest chest compared to the one Echo had developed (something she was deeply thankful for as a transwoman). Sav turned and walked to the backroom with Echo, and once the pair was out of eyeshot of customers, Sav stopped and turned to face Echo. She made a simple gesture with her hand, signaling Echo to turn around. Echo’s eyes almost burst from her head, but something about Sav in the moment combined with the sudden appearance of a thick diaper under her pinafore and “bodysuit” (calling the thing she was wearing a bodysuit was 100% Echo’s way of rationalizing that she was going out in a less childish Onesie.)

Echo turned around, hoping that no one would walk back here and see what she was worried was about to happen. Like a self-fulfilling prophecy, Echo suddenly felt a finger snake its way under her diaper; she was literally getting a diaper check before she left work!

(What is the world is going on!?)

Before she knew it, Sav patted her on her diapered butt, reassuringly, before walking around to look at Echo.

“Good Job, Echo, sweetie, you’re dry," Sav said, not only as if Echo being in a dry diaper was a good thing but as if Sav was not only surprised but happy to announce it to the young woman, who still was frozen in place.

“Wha-huh” it was all Echo could say; no other words even filtered into her brain.

“I know, I’m so proud of you, I’ll be sure to tell your mommy, now go wait in the lobby for her, okay?”

Almost numbly, Echo waddled out of the backroom once again. What was happening right now? Was she going insane? Did the world suddenly turn upside down? Echo didn’t know why she was waiting in the lobby either; hadn’t she driven herself to work? As she was sitting down, she watched as people entered the store, a few regulars came in, older folks for the mid-day lunch coffee getters.

“Echo?” The voice of Davina broke Echo out of her stupor. Davina was nice, even following Echo from her original store to the new one; she was now purely because she liked Echo so much.

“Um ah, Hi,” Echo said, still in shock, not sure what was happening to the world, but trying to pull herself out of the vibe between adulthood and little space.

“I am so glad I get to see you before you go. I have a little something for you. I know your birthday just passed, so here!” Davina held a small lavender box out toward Echo, a wide, warm smile on Davina’s face.

Just as Echo was about to open it, she saw her partner, Oswin, walk in, and a rush of relief and excitement washed over the young girl as she quickly got up.

“Echo, sorry I’m a bit late,” Oswin said, lightly running over to Echo, before turning and looking at Davina. The two were very much the opposite; Oswin was small, only about five feet tall, while Davina was closer to Echo’s height of about six feet. “Who is this, Little One?”

There it was again, Mommy only called Echo ‘Little One’ when she was deep in a little space. Echo instantly started to blush, putting her head down.

“I’m sorry, Echo gets shy when I meet people she knows. I’m her Mommy, Oswin.” The words were said so fluidly if it hadn’t already been for the strangeness, Echo would have ignored what her Mommy had said, only just now realizing that she hadn’t thought of her Mommy as anything else for a while now.

“I’m so glad to meet you. I’m just a regular, your baby girl is the sweetest thing, she just makes my day," Davina said, as she slipped close to Echo, giving her a quick side hug before slipping away once again.

“You know that’s why I say she can’t have too much candy, she is just too sweet already,” Mommy said, as the two laughed at their joke as only “real adults” could.

“T-thank you, Mrs. Davina,” Echo finally spoke up, even if her voice was barely over a whisper.

“Of course, Echo, I think judging by the red on your face, you might need it now, so open it, baby girl.”

Echo did as she was told, opening the pale purple box. As she pulled the lid away, inside she saw a pacifier. Not a baby one either, a pacifier sized for an adult baby, the guard was large, and it looked like it had been bedazzled, with purple gems, and along the puller, the word “Baby Girl” had been added to the pacifier with cute white and black letter beads. Echo was honestly shell-shocked; she had always wanted a pacifier like this, one that would fit her mouth and was overly babyish. Echo almost started crying, before, as if sensing the overwhelming feeling, Oswin quickly grabbed the new pacifier and put it in Echo’s mouth. As if on instinct, Echo began to suck on the pacifier, her heart rate slowing, and the world starting to slow down and make sense once again.

“She loves it, Davina?” Oswin said as she took Echo’s hand, smiling as she gave a slight, reassuring nod to Echo.

“Yes, and yes, it seems like she does like it, I’m glad,” Davina said, as she smiled at the two before she remembered why she had come to the coffee shop in the first place. “Well, I have to go, you two have a wonderful day.”

“We will, wave bye-bye, Little One.”

Echo waved softly at first, slowly letting it get a bit stronger as she accepted the situation for what it was.

“Your boss said you are dry, so maybe we can get you a Baby Meal for being such a good girl today,” Oswin said as she started to lead Echo out the door toward their now-shared car.

Echo wasn’t sure what was happening, but she felt so happy, with the world seeing her as normal for the first time in what seemed like ever. If she could ever find who made the wish she heard that morning, she wouldn’t hesitate to give them a big hug.

So this is a story based on one written by probably one of the best AB/DL authors in the community. I unfortunately can't tag them because of our stance on the use of A.I. While I won't get into here, in this blurb, I want to say that If I had the money to afford to pay a human artist to make my comics, and stuff, I would do it in a heart beat, but I can't and that means I have to do what I have done in order to make my writing reach the people who have now started to support me, Do I like A.I. "art" No, do I think there needs to be regulations, and payments made to the original artists, Yes.
Anyway! This writer, Peculiar Changeling, or maybe its PCannon now? I'm not sure, but his work is amazing, his stories are phenomenal and he inspired me in so many ways, more than just this story. Check him out if you can. he is on DA, Tumblr, Subscribestar, etc.

New Tier?

So I am thinking of making a new Tier, this tier would get priority on story idea polls, but that doesnt seem like enough for a new tier, I have lots of ideas for stuff I want to do, but I want to know what would make folks want to give more, so what are your ideas?

Okay, so it looks like the people who voted are wanting something of a weekly story, diapery type thing. I have my typical interests in my writing so how about you all pick the genre?

Pick multiple if you like, and if you are a subscriber, your votes get a bit of weight added!
