Please be aware this is still very much a work in progress, so there is still much to be added and improved upon, with new and improved features to be eventually implemented in time for the full release. We really hope you enjoy the current content and look forward to the finished product to come in the future. Thank you for all your continued support.

Greetings, dungeoneers! I am Pug, and welcome back to another Fur Quest update!
Normally, around this time of the week, I make backer-exclusive updates to show a little of what we're working on, but I felt today’s subject was pertinent to anyone who might be interested in our work, so I figured we'd just make it public for all to see.
There has been some confusion lately as to what Fur Quest is. Well, in short, it is a passion, a dream, a vision of a grand, fantastic world with endless tales of wonders in it.
True, right now it’s a humble RPG maker game, but I'd consider this version of Fur Quest a simple first draft, a way to learn how to write and program for a game. However, we have far greater plans for it in the future.
I talk a lot about studying 3D and animation, but just how do we intend to implement that into Fur Quest?
Well, my goal is to mesh beautiful hand-drawn textures with simple 2.5D graphics to create a world vaguely reminiscent of a storybook come to life. With this approach, a few simple textures can be used to create gorgeous and immersive sights like this little scene from Octopath Traveler, which is a huge inspiration for the approach we want to take.
Though our vision of Fur Quest will be of a higher resolution than Octopath, leaning further away from pixel art, and more into classic painterly looks like you might see in Darkest Dungeon, Hades, or Arcane.
So another question you might ask is. Does this in any way impede the development of the RPG maker game?
Fortunately, no, it doesn't.
Any work we might do on a 3D Fur Quest is purely testing and pre-production work.
Until the RPG maker game is done, I am mainly focusing on 3D work practice and study to assure that once I delve fully into it, I can give Fur Quest my very best performance. I do most of this while I am at work where, for obvious reasons, I don't want to be seen tinkering on a game with furry lewds in it. ;)
And though Fae spent a lot of our early days working on unique map assets for RPG maker, thanks to your generous donations we've been able to hire a full-time environmental artist who is slowly bringing the world of Erathor to life, adding about one new asset a week to our ever-growing library to use for the future.
Fur Quest is a passion project for us, so every dollar we make goes directly into improving the game and growing the scope of what Fur Quest can become. In the future, we hope to bring on a composer to create an original soundtrack and implement more voice acting for at least the major characters in the game.
I hope that cleared up some confusion and maybe alleviated some concerns. If you have any questions, as always, feel free to leave them in the comments.
As a final note, I want to thank all of our followers and backers alike for their support of our work. I tried butting my head into programming and 3D animation for years without success, and it's not until all of you wonderful people arrived to encourage and support this dream of ours that I finally mustered the will to push through and continue to grow my skill.
I consider myself endlessly blessed to be able to work on this, and it is all thanks to your kind love and support. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Greetings, dungoneers! Pug here, and welcome back to another Fur Quests update.
Last time, I briefly mentioned that we had implemented a gift system into Fur Quests to complement the highly requested dating sim elements we are adding to the game. We wanted to add a similar system for Lyra the librarian, where you could give her books and she'd have a little something to say about each of them. However, there was a conflict with this and the gift system, which sadly made it so that it did not work as intended. But I am happy to say I found a workaround, and both of these systems will now be added to the game as intended.
Now it's just a matter of fleshing out the system, putting in all of the assets, and writing the dialogue around it.
As you can imagine, this is a time-consuming process, and rather than releasing a half-baked version of these systems, we've decided to delay the game update this week. Sadly, with a sudden heatwave and some other issues in our day-to-day lives, we've not gotten as much done as we'd like.
But rest assured, we are hard at work to implement the valuable feedback all of you have offered over the last couple of months, and we are still on track to add the big summer date update for the public within the next couple of months, so stay tuned for that.
For other news and behind-the-scenes peeks, consider supporting us over on Patreon or Subscribestar. Every dime we make goes directly into the game, ensuring that Fur Quests becomes the best game it can be. We recently started working with a new environmental artist who has put their outstanding talents to work to bring the world of Erathor to the next dimension, which simply wouldn't be possible without our generous backers.
So as always I wish to close off this update by saying, thank you for your love and support.
