📋 What changed

A few fixes on this side, a bug that prevented saving when importing an external save is now resolved, as well as a visual bug in the Grope mechanic that sometimes looked for images under the wrong file type. The Gallery was also not displaying the new categories correctly, that's fixed. And the money earned from selling videos in the Spycam software has been increased, going from $50~100 to $150~200, it was a bit too low to make it really worth it. Along with various other small bug fixes here and there.

📱 KotKit

This is the new app I mentioned in the last devlog without wanting to say more. KotKit is a short video sharing app, in the style of the big platforms you already know. Mainly you'll be able to watch content published every day in game, which evolves depending on the corruption level of the city. The more corrupted the city is, the more the content follows. You'll also be able to create content, grow your audience, and earn money from it (this is still in a testing phase, I don't want it to be too fast or too simple, but I'll adjust based on feedback). A side quest is also available and an achievement linked to the app has been added as well.

🏋️ Gym Manager & Mall

The Mall is now an Institution in game, and with it comes the first of its characters: the Gym Manager, who runs the gym. An achievement linked to this character has also been added. Note that the actress portraying this character has changed since the last devlog, Katrina Colt now replaces the previous actress. (PS: For players on an existing save, the city corruption has been reset. You will need to corrupt the new institution and then just head back to the town hall to get it back to where you were.)

🛠️ Development Update

Hey everyone. Sorry for the wait, it's been a while and I know it. This project is something I work on during my free time alongside everything else, which means I don't get a lot of hours per week to dedicate to it. That's why it takes so long. I just wanted to be upfront about that, and I'm sorry for the wait regardless. Anyway, let's talk about the game.

Since the last post, things have shifted a bit. There have been some changes and quite a few additions, which is another reason why it's taking longer. Here's a rundown of what's been added or changed.

📋 What's new

First, as mentioned in the last post, the next version was around 75-80% done. But while rewriting the Mayor, I decided to go ahead and write part of the main storyline now, tying it directly to her character since she plays an important role in the game. So in the next version, aside from Landlady, the Mayor will be the character with the biggest changes. I won't say more than that to avoid spoilers.

One thing I do want to clarify now: Unveiled Desire is not a multiple ending game. You'll have choices, but they won't change the direction of the story. At most they'll give you access to slightly different content, but everything leads to the same ending.

🖼️ Gallery

A new Gallery menu is being added, accessible directly from the Main Menu. It will show every image and video you've seen in the game, across all your saves, it's not tied to a specific save file. From there you can place content into slots, choose how many slots to display, and view everything fullscreen in a loop.

🐧 Linux compatibility

Internal changes have been made to make the game run on Linux. It's still in testing, so there may be bugs. I'll need player feedback to confirm everything works properly.

➕ Other additions

• You'll be able to become a professor at the university, with actions available from your office
• Two new drugs added: coke and meth, more expensive to buy but significantly more profitable
• An encyclopedia has been added for players who feel lost, giving more info on stats, mechanics, and other things
• Bug fixes and some design changes

📊 Where things stand

Officially, nothing new is being added. The priority is finishing this version. The only thing left is completing Landlady's rework, and that's already well underway. So the new version should be out soon, end of the week in the best case scenario, but don't hold me to that if something comes up.

🛠️ Development Update

Hey everyone, wanted to give you a proper update on where things stand, because the next version is taking longer than expected and you deserve an explanation.

🖊️ Rewriting of character texts

A big chunk of the work right now is rewriting the NPC dialogue to properly integrate the corruption system. The way it worked before was way too subtle, almost invisible, no real visual or audio feedback to go along with it. That's changing. The corruption will now be much more visible and felt as it progresses. If you want to see what that looks like in practice, you can already check it out in-game at the public restrooms in the park, that area already uses the new system as a working example.

The rewrite isn't the same amount of work for every character. Some only need minor adjustments, others are being heavily reworked, with new steps added before the corruption can even begin. Think things like buying a specific item, visiting another NPC first, stuff like that.

🎭 Landlady is getting a new actress

A lot of players felt the actress representing Landlady looked too young for the role. I ran a vote a few weeks ago with paying members to pick a replacement, and after counting votes across the different platforms, Ava Addams was chosen. Since the character is being completely recast, every single image and video needs to be replaced, which means a full rewrite of all her chapters rather than a partial one like the other characters.

On that note, if you want to have a say in the direction of the game, whether it's casting choices, gameplay decisions, or other things, the [SUPPORT] tier gives you access to votes. And a genuine thank you to everyone already supporting the project.

📖 Chapter 4

On top of all of this, I also want to add Chapter 4 to the next version. I didn't want to ship an update that's mostly text changes with no new content, since I know that wouldn't feel like much for a lot of players.

Quick note on what a "chapter" means in this game: it's not necessarily something long. It's a meaningful step that moves the story forward. Chapter 1 is literally just reading an email. Others can be much longer and more involved. Chapter 4 takes place at the player's home, but finding the right footage for specific characters and specific moments is genuinely the hardest part of making this kind of game. Being limited to what actresses and actors have actually filmed puts a real ceiling on what's possible, and sometimes forces compromises that take away from the experience of following a specific character.

📊 Where things stand

The next version is already at 75 to 80% complete. What's left is mainly finishing Landlady's rework with the new actress, completing Chapter 4, and making sure everything runs properly on Linux.

PS: the next version will also include an online version of the game. The Linux compatibility issues were blocking that, so both are being fixed at the same time.
