Another first view and progress report! Matthew and Jenifer are supporting characters in "Knuffles is missing!", providing conversations, backgrounds and clues.
I started creating and rendering a load of body poses and expressions for Matthew and am getting considerably better and faster in the process. Why start with Matthew? I won't be too sad if I completely botch something and have to scrap hours of work. Plus, I want to know what I'm doing when I start with Sara, Rory and Preston.
Right now I'm pondering how much of characters expressions to include and how. Move the actor closer to the camera during convos? Show an additional portrait? Only singular expressions only on certain stances? Develop an automated system for expressions from script to representation? I tend to automate things but I also know that this usually restricts...
I'll keep you in the loop! Cheers! /Dagget
Hey there,
the first visuals of the main cast starring in "Knuffles is missing!" for you!
I will surely fiddle with details during further development and they will get access to more wardrobe, clothing and such but they already embody my ideas of the characters almost perfectly. Two more supporting actors are following soon and after that I am ready to get into poses and expressions for the story. I hope you like what you see, there will be a lot more in the future.
I wish everyone peace, prosperity and a calm and safe spring!
Cheers! /Dagget
Hey everyone!
The last few weeks I worked through tons of tutorials for Daz Studio to get the hang of it and to decide if it's what I want to use for character assets for my games for the time being. Turns out, yes, I like Daz and what I can achieve a lot!
My first test render with no particular character in mind, just using free stuff I gathered from all around, turned out neat. I'm going to dive into this.
I set up two cameras with different focus length, a HDRI dome with sun positioning and one spotlight to soften the shadows. There's a bit of body and face morphing on the model Kaeko and I dialed in parameters to give her an uneven smirk. Some light wind simulation effects the hair and dress for testing out those things, too. I hope you like the result, too!
Right now I am browsing the shops to find assets I like for Sara, Rory and all other actors. There'll be loads of pictures once I decided what to use and how to put it together so stay tuned ;)
Cheers! /Dagget
