I MOVED - UPDATE
hey guys.
uhhh... yeah. hi. i'm alive.
I've been pretty damn quiet for the last month and a half, and I wanted to actually explain why instead of just materializing out of nowhere with a new upload like some kind of cryptid.
I moved.
Like, HUGE SERIOUS UPROOTING MY WHOLE LIFE AND TAKING IT 3,000 MILES AWAY moved. I packed up my whole life (which was about the size of a bedroom), packed up my computer, said goodbye to the place that had trapped me for nearly a decade, and made the trip all the way back home to be with my family.
It was a lot.
There's something really weird about putting everything you own into little cardboard boxes and realizing you don't actually take up that much space... like, as a person. The actual move was exhausting, stressful, messy, and honestly kind of surreal. There were a lot of moments where I was just sitting there thinking, “holy shit, I'm finally growing up.”
But I'm here now! My new place. A home all to myself, where I get to pick the furniture, where I get to pick the dinnerware, where I get to play music as loud as I want!
I'm home. My computer is set back up. My workspace is coming back together. And, finally, after what feels like forever, I'm back to work.
And I really, really need to thank you guys for making that possible.
I genuinely could not have made this move without the support I've gotten through all you guys. I mean that literally. Your support gave me the breathing room to make a huge life change without having to abandon the project in the process.
So thank you.
Seriously.
I know I've said it before, but there is something still kind of insane about knowing that people are out there willingly throwing a few dollars at this weird little universe I've been building for years. It means a lot to me. More than I think I can properly communicate without sounding like I'm writing the world's corniest acceptance speech.
Anyway.
I'm back.
And I haven't exactly been sitting on my hands while all this was happening, either.
I've had an animation completely ready to go for about three weeks now. My original plan was to have it posted BEFORE I started the move, but the sound guy has been working his special magic on the soundscape and SFX, and it ended up needing a little more time.
And honestly?
I'm glad I waited.
The sound work is adding a lot to it, and I'd rather let him cook than rush something out just because I had an arbitrary deadline in my head.
It's worth it. Promise.
I've also got a brand new short story + picture set ready to go, and I've got an experimental thing in the works... an audiodrama- but smutty.
So there's quite a bit waiting in the wings.
I'm still getting my bearings after the move, and I'm probably going to be a little rusty getting back into the production rhythm, but the important part is that I'm finally sitting at my desk again with Blender open and a ridiculous amount of shit I want to make.
Thank you for sticking around through the silence.
Thank you for helping me get home.
And thank you for continuing to believe in this stupid little project.
