Siblings Resort: Chapter 5 - Turning Point

"It's... she... asleep..." I heard a voice, but I paid it no mind. I was still too tired and emotionally exhausted from last night. I just wanted to stay in bed and didn't care if I was going to be absent from school today. But then, I felt shaking. Someone was shaking me while I was still in bed. But there shouldn't be anyone here. No one, unless...

"M-mother...?" I opened my eyes to see a girl's face that was around my age. She had magenta eyes and long white hair. For a second, I thought I saw her scoff, but then all she expressed was a stoic face, making me doubt if she even scoffed at all.

"Are you up now, Miss Mylene?"

"Huh?! W-who are you?! What are you doing in my room?!" Seeing this unknown person in my room suddenly registered to me, and I panicked to the corner of my bed with the blanket covering me. There was an intruder in my room!

"Miss Mylene, be serious. Hasn't your mother already told you of the situation?"

"Huh, my mother...?" I suddenly remember what transpired last night. Mother left me alone in the middle of the night. Why? Did it have to do something with this girl being in my room?

"...It seems you were not informed. I guess this sort of cruelty should be expected of her..."

"Cruelty..."

"Ah. Sorry, I misspoke." She then grabbed the helm of her black dress and gave a slight bow. "My name is Alicia Starford. I am your personal servant from now on."

"Personal servant...?"

"Your mother inherited wealth and properties after the passing of our previous master. You are to gather your personal belongings to move into your new home as per your mother's instruction."

*****

A mansion! A big house! Was this the reason why Mother was being so distant? To surprise me with our new home? I couldn't help but become joyful at the thought. So Mother really wasn't leaving me all alone on purpose, she was just busy getting this ready. I couldn't help but run around the property exploring as Miss Alicia followed me around walking.

"So this is the garden? Oh, and there's a large tree in the middle! It looks so majestic from here!"

"Miss Mylene, please don't run around. If you fall, your dress will be ruined." She exclaimed after me with the same stoic face, but it really didn't matter. I was just so full of joy that I didn't care about anything at all. I kept running around and finally came face to face with the giant tree. There were even some beautiful flowers popping out of it, further enchanting its majestic beauty.

"Bzzt, bzzt!" I heard a sound that sounded like a phone and panicked because it usually meant bad news from my mother, but I was pleasantly surprised to see it was Miss Alicia's and not mine.

"Ah, excuse me for a second, it's a call from my mother, the head housekeeper." She then took her phone and started talking to someone a little away from me.

"Your mother...? Right, my mother..." I haven't seen her yet after her outburst yesterday. I was fully convinced she was ashamed and hesitant to meet me after acting that way towards me last night, but I had to tell her I forgive her. That it didn't matter as long as we could act the way we were before. But, Miss Alicia was still talking to her mother... so I should probably do something else as I wait. So I kept looking around while somewhat close to her. And as I did, I found an interesting carving on the giant majestic tree that was clearly man-made. It was a doodle of a boy and girl that had the words Leon Solstone above the boy's head. Was that the name of my father?

"Are you curious about that?" said someone from behind me. It was Miss Alicia who kept her eye on the marking. I have never seen her show so much interest in anything so far, so I couldn't stop myself from nodding in curiosity. "It was something I wanted to surprise my former Master with. But... he left before I was able to finish it." There was a small sad stutter in her words, but her expression did not change at all.

"...Was Leon the name of my father?"

"...I would hope not. It's supposedly your brother's name."

"My brother's?"

"Leon Solstone is his name."

"Did he pass away too?" As cruel as it might be, I would be relieved if he wasn't around anymore. I didn't want to have someone around who would just make life harder for me. But Miss Alicia, she just stared at me for my question before shaking her head.

"It doesn't matter anymore. You won't ever meet him. But Miss Alicia, and I apologize for changing the topic so abruptly, it seems that your mother has an assignment for you."

"My mother? Oh, are we going to go see her?" I could hardly wait if this was the case.

"I can't say for certain, but it seems she relayed instructions to my mother. Let's go see the head housekeeper."

*****

I was now in a room that was designated for working. There was a large table and chair with a touch-screen computer and wireless telephone in the back. There was a map on the walls that contained a few archipelagos and a large poster of the Dos & Don'ts in resort management. There was also a shelf with several large books that had complicated words for their titles and another door separate from the entrance. This place... I wanted to leave and never come here again. I didn't want to be here at all.

"So that's the gist of it," said the head housekeeper. Like her daughter, she had magenta eyes and white hair. She also had a black headband and a customary servant black dress too. But her appearance really didn't matter to me. I was simply at a loss right now. I couldn't believe what I just heard.

"Mother really... said that?"

"...Despite my initial appeal," she responded, "the new master of the mansion said that you proved yourself enough through some sort of national exam. She believes you're smart enough to create a successful island resort, and has accommodated this room with everything you would need."

"Please, can't I just see my mother first? I'm sure there's some sort of misunderstanding..." My heart was starting to break. I thought that I wouldn't be lonely anymore and that we could be together again...

"She... has ordered for you to stay in this room at all times except for your regular necessities. Until you accomplished this task, she says she doesn't wish to see you to not distract you." She looked at me dejectedly to show sympathy but all I could feel was complete loneliness. This room was going to be my prison from now on in this house, and the one who I wish with all of my heart to be with orchestrated it...

"That door by the shelves leads to your private room with a personal bathroom. Your personal tutoring quarters are also right next door, and as for foo-"

"Oh, please wait a moment! My tutoring quarters? What about school? Will I be able to continue going there?"

"That would be an inconvenience," said Miss Alicia who was standing next to her mother. "The institution is too far away. You will no longer be required to go there. Instead, hired qualified teachers will come here to complete your education. All of your needs will practically be provided within the rooms in this same hallway." I had a feeling that this room was cursed from the minute I came in, but I push those initial thoughts away. That was because I convinced myself to truly believe that this new home was a blessing and a turning point for my recent lonely life. That Mother's recent change was so she could surprise me with it. I had to, or else I would have no choice but to give up on her and run away since I had no happiness here. But now...

"M-my friends," I stuttered out. "Will I be able to invite them here...? Or possibly go visit them...?"

"You going out is a security hazard for possible kidnapping," said the head housekeeper, "so that can't happen. The master of the mansion also made it clear she wanted you to stay in this section of the mansion for the time being. And as for your friends, they would have to be cleared by her as well. However, I believe she would deny the request in order to not distract you from your work. She even has guards watching this area to enforce and minimize distractions."

"No way..."

"I understand your frustration kid, but it seems the master of the mansion really wants you to get the assignment done as soon as possible. So do your best, and I'll see what I can do to help your situation become more bearable." With this, the head housekeeper nodded to her daughter and left the room.

"It seems you need time to process this, Miss Mylene," said the stoic Miss Alicia. "So please excuse me because I have paperwork to get done, but if you need anything from me, let me know." She then went to a corner of the room that had a small desk with a stack of documents and started to work. And as for me, I just stood still feeling completely trapped. I couldn't see my friends anymore and don't even have a chance of running away now. I'm just trapped. And there was nothing that I could do except to do as I'm told. Because there was nothing else I could do. I was truly alone now.

*****

It's been a few months since the new master of the mansion moved in. And while everything else was operating as normal, there was also one additional difference that everyone was aware of. It was the little girl who was practically a prisoner in this mansion. And despite our efforts in cheering her up, she remains depressed. Almost completely non-responding. The delicious treats we give her, the best video games in the market we can get, the best-rated books we could get our hands on; nothing causes her to respond. She just kept doing what she was ordered to do, typing and researching other resorts to try to replicate their success.

"Alicia, how long are you going to be like this?" I was talking quietly to my daughter at her station in the corner of Mylene's working room. Both girls didn't turn to see who it was who just walked in as I was the only visitor for the most part. "I understand the grudge for what happened to Leon, but Mylene had no part in it. You can't blame her for that."

"Mother," she replied with her stoic expression as she continued working without looking at me, "I understand that I'm being unreasonable, but my feelings just won't change. I feel sympathy for her, but the moment I see her, my thoughts are all turned to anger. Unreasonable as they are, anger is all I feel." For the next couple of seconds, all I heard was a few clicks from Mylene's mouse and the sound of documents being written on by Alicia. There were seriously no positive interactions between these two besides Alicia guiding Mylene through her schedule. I truly thought their relationship would help make things bearable for Mylene, but it seemed I miscalculation the unreasonable grudge my daughter would have for her for the lost of the love of her life. Honestly, what could I do...

"Is there really nothing you can do for her, Alicia?"

"What Miss Mylene wants," she said while still working, "is to receive care from someone she deems significant. Actions and gestures from anyone who can't change her current situation are meaningless to her."

"...Was this what you learned from supporting her all this time?"

"It's what I learned from reading the diary in her room whenever I clean. She would write about the happy life she had before with her mother or made-up fantasies of a prince saving a trapped princess."

"...I can't argue with your evidence there." I take a look at the girl who is continuing to research on the web. It was then I noticed that she wasn't even researching anything related to managing resorts. She was looking at pictures that had family having a good time together. "She isn't even working on the resort?" For the first time since I came in, Alicia stopped to look at her before continuing her work.

"After a bunch of failures in the past months, she's practically unmotivated and sees no merit in giving efforts. She most likely believes nothing is going to change even if she somehow accomplishes her task anyway."

"...This is too cruel to watch. I really wished the world had laws to prevent situations like these..."

"Bzzt-bzzt!" I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket and saw that I had received a message from the master of the mansion. I started to head out but paused to look back at Mylene. She was still looking at pictures of happy families, but looking more carefully, I also saw that there were spots on the table in front of her that were wet. Covered by her tears most likely...

"If you're leaving Mother," Alicia said from the side, "make sure to close the door completely. You tend to leave it cropped open at times." I was about to respond to her but then got an idea from looking at my daughter.

"No, I was about to leave, but I seemed to have received a message from the master of the mansion for Mylene." Both girls stopped working and turned to look at me. Alicia had a rare expression of being surprised that she hadn't shown since Leon left, and Mylene had a similar expression too, albeit with clear signs that she was crying recently.

"My mother has a message for me...?" The brown-haired girl asked this with little life in her dull facial expression.

"She said that she was still waiting for you to complete your task. That once you were done, she was excited to explore the resort together with you."

"My mother said that...?" Alicia looked skeptical, but Mylene remained surprised. More than surprised, her dead eyes started to brighten up with color again, as if she was reviving herself like a phoenix. "Mother is waiting for me... She really believes in me and is waiting for me...?"

"She is, Mylene. Although she hasn't told me what specifically, she assured me there was a good reason why she set up this task for you. And while it has been hard for you,  you have to persevere. She still waiting for you to finish to let you know how much she cares for you and how proud she is to have you as her daughter."

"My mother, she really still does cares for me..." On her face, she showed a teary happy smile before getting a determined look. She then turn back to the computer and exited the page she was in to start researching seriously. Alicia looked at her in concern, and I looked at her sadly as well before quietly leaving the room, leaving the door slightly ajar by accident.

Siblings Resort: Chapter 4 - Lonely Past

"Mommy!!!" A little blond girl with twin tails ran into the hands of a woman who looked just like her. She was waiting for her little one at the entrance of an elementary school.

"Hey sweetie, how was school today?" The mother embraced her before grabbing the child's hand while starting to walk away.

"It was great! And did you know? The scores came out for the test everyone had to do, I got a really really really good score!!!"

"Oh sweetie, that's amazing! I'm so proud of you..." By then, I could no longer hear them. They got too far away from the school gate. I was still by the school entrance, waiting for my own mother. She said she could pick me up today, so I was a little hopeful. As long as...

"Bzzt-Bzzt!"

"..." I cautiously flip my phone open, the screen reflecting my brown hair and big red bow briefly before lighting up. The text message icon had an exclamation mark, and I could already guess what it said.

Sorry Mylene. I got called in again for work. Walk home today as well, I left some food in the fridge. Mom.

My hopes were dashed, and my mood became gloomy. I was sad, but I started walking while disguising my true feelings. This isn't the first time I was stood up by my mother, but it still hurt.

"So how was your exam?" Another mother was asking her little boy this question as I passed them by.

"It was great. I did really good!"

"That's great, I knew I had a brilliant genius for a son! How do you feel about celebrating at the diner today, huh sweetie?"

"Really? Yay! Let's eat lots together!" They too, got too far for me to hear anymore. Still, they did give me an idea.

"Maybe my test score will make Mother happy enough to praise me...?" Despite being dashed mere moments ago, my hopes were lit up again,

*****

It was already well into the night, and I was in my red slippers and red nightgown that I use for sleeping. Sitting beside the table with a plain view of the front entrance, I waited for Mother's arrival. We lived in a small home with very little furniture, but it was comfortable enough. I was holding my test which had a 98% written at the top, hoping to receive praise for it. I smile and daydream a little about the words she may say.

"Maybe she will be so happy that she will make time for me...?" I let myself dream on, waiting for her arrival.

*****

"My little Mylene, you did such a great job on the national exam! I am so proud of you, I'm blessed to call you my daughter."

"Mom, stop, you're embarrassing me" I responded giggling happily.

"Oh my sweet daughter, this is too great to not celebrate. How about we go eat in a fancy restaurant? Just you and me?"

"Really? Yeah, that would be so much fun! Ah, but...?" I got meekly and looked at her cautiously to ask a question. "C-can I get a hug, please?"

"Oh, is that all? Of course, sweetie! Come here!" I couldn't help control my happiness at her response and jumped toward her with my hands up high.

"Mooom!!!" I expected a response from her, but all I heard then was a thunk on something wooden.

*****

"Ouch, it hurts!!!" I suddenly felt pain on my knees as I slammed them against something while unconsciously standing up. Soon after, however, my other senses began to clear up, and I immediately notice something was wrong. I was still beside the table where I waited for Mother, but didn't she come back already? Was it all a dream...? I couldn't stop myself from becoming gloomy.

"Chirp! Chirp! Chirp-chirp!" It was the chirping of birds that stopped me from spiraling into depression, and I realize that it was sunny outside.

"Wait? Morning...? Did Mother not come home at all...?" I took a look at my flip phone and saw a text. I immediately opened it up since the sender was my mother.

Mylene, I'll be staying at work tonight. Have breakfast at school and I'll make dinner when you get home.

"...So Mother did not come home last night..." After resting my head on my arms, I must've fallen asleep while watching television from where I sat. I couldn't help but get a little gloomy thinking about the wasted afternoon. "No, I can't let myself get depressed. I'll just show her the exam later today." I regained my composure, finding the exam in the middle of the table.

"Bzzt-Bzzt!" Another text came in, and I opened up to see it as it too was from my mother.

Mylene, confirm to me that you overslept. I've been notified that you are marked absent from school.

"Huh?!" I quickly looked outside and saw that the sunshine was too bright to still be morning. "Ah, no! I'm late!!!"

*****

"Older brothers are seriously the worst!" I was walking home from school behind a light purple short hair girl who had a hatred for older brothers. A blond hair girl who was wearing a purple flower headband walked beside her. "This morning, he used all of the milk for cereal and ate my pudding without even asking!"

"Is it really that bad?"

"Yes! I had to make a detour to the convenience store and ended up getting to school late!"

"...I don't really think that's bad at all. One time, Mom told my older brother to take me out to eat for my birthday. He took me to a fast food restaurant where his girlfriend worked and left me to walk home because he said he had to help her lose some calories. It took me 30 minutes to walk home!"

"...I guess I stand corrected? But the point still sticks! Older brothers suck! Their selfish jerks who just care about themselves!"

"...I mean, we reached that conclusion long ago, didn't we?"

"Yes, but we now have another kindred spirit!" The light purple hair girl in turn looked at me. "Right, Mylene?"

"Huh?!" I was shocked to see her include me in the conversation. The blond turned to look at me too as we continued to walk.

"...Right, Mylene has an older brother too, but they don't live together, Jolly."

"But she came in late today! And she had to stay behind at school yesterday! I'm sure she was forced to wait for her older brother who was visiting and was unable to get any sleep for having to put up with him, right Mylene? Right? Right-right?!" She got excited and closed in on me.

"W-well u-umm..."

"Stop it, Jolly," the blond girl said pulling her back. "Life isn't as simple as that. It was probably her mom again."

"Huh, her mother?"

"They haven't seen each other eye to eye recently. At least that's what you told me, right Mylene?"

"Ha-ha... right..." I responded with an awkward chuckle, getting a bit gloomy.

"Wait, is that true? Last time I saw her, she was a doting mother."

"That's because you haven't seen her recently, Jolly."

"Really? I guess it has been two years..."

"It's no wonder your so misinformed."

"Hey! Unlike you, Shirley, I started to help my parents! I'm not dozing off, leeching on my parents! I'm helping them in our candy store."

"...You trying to say something, Jolly?" Tension was obviously building around them.

"Come on, calm down," I said nervously. "Let's not fight, alright?" Both girls turn to look at me, and then look away meekly.

"Fine. Sorry Shirley, I didn't mean to imply anything bad."

"Yeah, I get it. I didn't mean to escalate the situation." Both apologized, but the tension still remained, until Shirley looked at me.

"But Mylene, are you really alright with your mother? She changed a lot in the past two years."

"I still don't understand. You should be experiencing those things with your brother, not your mother."

"You're still on that?" Jolly looked back at Shirley and was about to say something that could lead only to trouble.

"You guys..." I said sadly. This caused Jolly to hesitate, and Shirley just looked away as if it had nothing to do with her.

"Right..." Jolly let out. There was a pause, and we all kept walking awkwardly.

"Mylene," Shirley starts, "I'm only asking about your mother because I'm worried. She's been leaving you alone a lot recently, right? Why not try moving into your father's house?"

"...My father has my older brother living with him. I don't want to live with someone who's going to be mean to me."

"A kindred spirit," Jolly whispered, but we ignored her.

"And besides not knowing my father, I'm not interested in meeting him."

"You're not...?" asked Shirley.

"Whenever Mother used to talk about him, she would always become really sad. He must've done something bad to her, and I don't think I'll can get along with anyone who makes my mother sad."

"But being left alone a lot of time isn't good, Mylene. And she's making you sad now."

"...Mother, she... I'm sure she'll be back to normal soon. I mean, she's making sure I have everything I need. She just needs time to get... better..."

"..."

"..." By the time I finished talking, we were in front of my house. This was the part where we usually would separate happily, but the air was heavy. My two friends looked worried.

"Hey, Mylene," said Jolly, "if you ever need a place to stay, you're welcome to stay at my house."

"You told me so much horrible things about your brother that I don't think I would be able to sleep at night there."

"I would obviously make sure to take care of him first!!!"

"Your wording scares me," said Shirley. "Mylene, we're leaving now, but know we're here to help if you need it."

"I know. Thanks for caring about me, though." With that, they walked away together as I entered the house.

"...how could you..."  It was when I entered the living room that I heard a woman's voice muffled behind the walls.

"Mother..." She was home today. I excitedly got my exam and headed to her room."

"...why...? I waited for you, all these years... and now, you've abandoned me in life too...?"

"..." I stopped moving. Something was wrong, she's crying. My mother is crying. From the direction of her muffled whimpers, she was in her room.

"...Darling... darling... I was a fool... I was such a fool... I was just so stubborn... And now, it's too late..." Her whimpers continued, and I hasten my pace. When I reached her door, I tried to open it, only to be stopped by the locked handle.

"Mother! Mother, I'm here! Please let me in! I don't want to hear you crying anymore, so please let me in!"

"...Go to your room, Mylene.  You're the last person I need to see now..."

"...What...?" I stood in shock at her muffled voice.

"Stay in your room, Mylene. Grab whatever food you want and use the restroom if you need it, but don't talk to me until I see you tomorrow morning."

"...But Mothe-"

"DANG IT MYLENE," screamed my mother's muffled voice at the same time a table was slammed, "DON'T MAKE ME REPEAT MYSELF!!!" It took me a moment to process what was happening.

"Mother, why?!!!" I yelled while running away crying, accidentally leaving behind my exam that fell to the ground slowly.

*****

It was late at night. I have been in my room for the entire afternoon, my face with clear signs that I have been crying for a long time. Many times I have been tempted to leave and check on my mother, but her voice still ranged in my head. It hurt so much. Just why does she not want to see me? Just why has she been avoiding me as much as possible? We were so close up until recently...

"The door is not locked..." I was in front of my mother's room. Despite the horrible afternoon, I found myself wanting to see her most of all. I wanted to comfort her, and if I did, then just maybe...

"Thud, thud." I lightly knocked on the door and awaited a response, but no answer came. I did it again, a bit louder, but still nothing. Gathering my courage, I opened the door slowly.

"Mother..." I whispered. Where I expected to see my mother, I just saw an empty room. There was a messed up bed and table with all its contents on the floor or knocked down, and a couple of other essential furnitures. But what captures my attention is the cracked picture frame on the foot of her bed. Tiny little pieces of a picture that was torn apart and now unrecognizable. But on Mother's bed, there was a piece of paper that was not torn up. "My exam..." The one I lost earlier, she must've picked it up. And it wasn't ripped. Did it please her?

"Creeeak." The sound of the front door opening scared me, but then it sounded as if it was slammed closed.

"M-mother...?" I peeked to see who it was, only to see that no one was there.

"Vrooooommmmm." I heard a car leaving outside, and silence was the only thing that followed. Mother left me alone, but where could she go this late at night?

"...Mother, why can't we be together anymore...? Why am I always left alone...? Just... why mother...?" I went back to my room, sobbing quietly.

Siblings Resort: Chapter 3 - The Surprises in Life

"I can't believe how easy it was for me to start acting like a girl in love again..." I was in my room sitting on my bed putting on white stockings as I prepare to go wake up Master Leon. In the past, I used to just wear black flats for footwear, but I started to like the feeling of stockings. I also think it goes well with the servant uniform I'm always wearing.

"Why resist it? You know you're still head over heels for him." Talking to me was my mother, who was getting ready on her side of the room. She was young looking and had white hair like me but with a black headband. Her magenta eyes and facial features were similar to mine. She was putting on her black dress that quickly cover the black bra of her modest chest and black underwear.

"I don't know how I feel about my mother telling me to get seduced by my master," I said while carefully sliding my feet into my black flats.

"You're complaining? You have to be more honest with yourself. I mean, you were the one who came in so lovestruck last night that you forgot to take a bath." I glare at my mother, but she just shrugs it off. "Comes on, Alicia. The fact that you're even able to see him again is a miracle in itself. How can you think of trying to give him the cold shoulder?"

"Because the last time I saw him he rejected me!"

"Huh? You confessed to him?"

"No! Not like that! It was that I pour my heart out to him and he denied my request! Despite being desperate, he said no to me, and it hurt!" My mother's gaze became serious while I became gloomy. "I asked him. I begged him. I was practically on my knees offering my life to him, and he said no. That he didn't want me in his mess..." I thought that since nine months have passed, I would be over this, but apparently not. Tears were starting to form, and I felt a heavy pain in my heart. "While I was okay giving everything up to be with him, he didn't love me enough to share his life with me..."

"...You really are a love-struck idiot."

"Huh...?" My mother's arms embraced me, her hand petting my head to calm me down.

"That wasn't all he said, was it? Come on, remember. You told me the story a bunch of times, so you know what I'm talking about." ...She's right. He said more to me. I remember the painful stuff more easily because it was more impactful, but there was more.

"He said..." I thought hard about the day we last saw each other, going through my memories until I finally remember the words that were meant as his concern over me, causing the pain in my heart to go away. "...He said he didn't want to make my life miserable to just stay with him. That he didn't want to ruin my life..."

"See? He was thinking of you. And tell me this, Alicia." She bent down to talk to me face-to-face. "From the way you came back yesterday, I know you both had a heart-to-heart. If the same situation happened again, do you think he would make the same choice as last time and leave you behind?" These words confused me, but I thought about it. Would he do the same thing again...?

I missed you. I was naive. I took you for granted. I didn't realize how important you were to me.

The memories of his words from yesterday echoed in my head. The pain that was in my heart is now replaced by happiness. The tears stopped at long last.

"No... He wouldn't... He said he realized that he felt miserable without me by his side... That he needed me." I couldn't stop a smile from popping up. My mother in turn smiled and got back up to finish dressing up, finishing by slipping on her black-nail feet into her own black flats.

"By the way," she said when at the door now ready to leave. "If I were you, I would confess to him fast. To make sure he stays with you no matter what, and to stop other girls from getting too close to him."

"Huh? Other girls?" I thought about this carefully. Has he ever been close to any other girl? ...No. When he lived here, it was only me and older female servants. I'm not sure about his time away, but he made it seem like he had a miserable time.

"...You really don't believe he can get closer to other girls?"

"...It is my plan to confess to him sooner rather than later, but... is there really other girls he can get close to? I don't think there's anyone."

"Really? Then what about Miss Mylene? With this strange assignment from the master of the mansion, he's bound to get close to her."

"Miss Mylene? But she's his sister. I don't think it's possible for blood-related siblings to ever fall in love..."

"Welp, it's true that it's highly unlikely, but you should still be on your guard. The world is a complicated place, and special situations tend to make the impossible possible."

"I guess, but the odds are really low. Still though... it's weird that you're this cautious about her. Did something like that happen before?"

"What? Relationship between fully blood-related family members? No, but I'm just saying. Better to be safe than sorry."

*****

"Morning, head housekeeper." After I and Alicia split up, I did some small errands before coincidentally meeting up with a red hair woman that had freckles. We were walking along the concrete halls and she displayed a gentle smile when she greeted me. But when I took a good look at her, she had dark bags under her eyes.

"Emily, you doing alright? Seem like you haven't slept last night. Nervous about the move?"

"Ha, ha... I guess I didn't have much sleep last night. But nerves have nothing to do with it. It was little Shirley."

"Shirley, huh? I forgot being a single mother to a toddler is extremely draining..."

"Yeah, but I don't mind. I'm raising her with all the love in the world. Also, she's too cute!" She got a little too enthusiastic, getting too close to me, but I was used to this.

"Yep, I experienced that burst of adrenaline too. But speaking of which..." My voice became more serious as I became more cautious. "Is he still trying...?" Upon understanding what I was referring to, Emily's mood changed quickly and looked away annoyed.

"That mustache trash for a man is unbelievable! He has the nerve to get MY PARENTS to ask me to marry him and let bygones be bygones?! After I find him arrested for public indecency with a bunch of prostitutes?!" Emily then turns to me, with fury in her eyes. "Not to mention he was using SHIRLEY'S college funds for his wild nights at the brothels! I already requested for a restraining order, but apparently, that's not enough! I can't even trust my own family!"

"There, there," I said trying to calm her down. "I'm sorry I asked." Emily realized what she was doing, and breathed in and out to calm down.

"No, sorry, I got overheated. Still though, if you weren't there to help me out financially, I might've had to go to the brothel my-OUCH!" I hit her head without mercy.

"You know I don't like dark humor, Emily." I could practically feel a dark aura coming out of me as I then continue chopping her head.

"I'm sorry! I'm SORRY! Please, stop!" I didn't. "Please! I'm supposed to take care of Alicia am I not?! I'm not going to be able to with head trauma!"

"You're not going to be able to take care of her if all your energy is used at night. You wouldn't be able to concentrate during the day! Seriously, I'm putting my daughter's well-being in your care," I said finally stopping.

"I get it, I get it! Geez, you can't take a joke, can you?"

"No."

"You weren't supposed to answer!" She started getting out of breath when I stopped in front of the door that nameplate read Risa Lunastone. Emily notices this and pauses to think for a second. "Head housekeeper, I'm confused about something." I just stood with a stoic face, already guessing what she was going to ask. "Your daughter is going with Master Leon. And when Master Leon was kicked out by the new master of the mansion, you did everything you could to gather any information on where he was sent. Why are you staying here instead of going with me to protect them?"

"Because the owner of the mansion is a risk, and not knowing her motives makes her too dangerous to leave on her own." I turn to stare at the nameplate. "By a miracle, I managed to convince her to call back Master Leon from wherever he was to help Miss Mylene, but she can easily change that."

"Hmm... I guess I get it. Staying by the mansion hea-OUCH!"

"Master of the Mansion," I said chopping her head again. "Titles are important here, it would be disrespectful to shorten it and can lead to severe consequences if you did it with the wrong person in the room."

"Okay, fine! So by staying with the Master of the Mansion, you are at least able to pick up on something bad beforehand and do something ab-EEP!" At that moment, the door opened, prompting a surprised yelp from the freckled woman. A girl came out that was a little older than my daughter. She had magenta eyes like me and Alicia, and white hair but with dark blue highlights that reached her upper back. Colorful flower clips decorated her hair as pin versions decorated her black dress. Her nails were painted dark blue and she gave a surprised look when she caught sight of us.

"Huh, Aunt Nanako? What are you doing here?"

"Wait, huh? You're not Owner Risa-Ouch!"

"If the master of the mansion was here, we wouldn't be talking about this. She left for a vacation to avoid seeing Master Leon. Also, Shizuka..." Now looking at my niece, "What do you mean what am I doing here? Isn't it time for our training?"

"...Aunt Nanako, did you forget that I finished last week?"

"Wait, you say what now?"

"My training! Didn't we finish last week? The plan was for me to do your daily morning routines all by myself today in exchange for getting information on how best to be Miss Mylene's personal servant?" My face stiffened at the realization and instantly became gloomy.

"I could've slept in today! AGHHH, WHAT A WASTE!!!" I blame Alicia for this. If she didn't wake me up and distracted me all morning with her complaining, I would've remembered.

"...No, I would've awaken you anyway." Emily eye us both, and then suddenly started chuckling.

"Hehe, I guess the head housekeeper isn't as perfect as I thought she was-Ouch!"

"Let's go Shizuka," I ordered after teaching Emily another lesson, "let's talk in my room."

"Huh? Uh... sure..." We left Emily massaging her head behind. I didn't care at all, but my niece looked back with worried.

"She's starting to sulk."

"Leave her be. She used to restrain her emotions to appear all proper in front of boys in the past. Seeing her show emotions is the greatest indicator that she's doing just fine.

"If you say so, I guess..."

"But speaking of appearances..." I eye Shizuk's flower clips and dark blue highlights specifically, "You are really dressed up. You're not doing that to hide something, are ya?"

"How dare you, Aunt Nanako!" Shizuka pouted, "I decorated my uniform this way because I thought it was cute."

"And your hair highlights?"

"What? Does it not look good?"

"It does, but I recall a time not too long ago when you highlighted your hair in yellow to get a boy's attention."

"..."

"A rich boy."

"...FINE!" she finally admits. "This Master Leon that Alicia always talks about when she visits, if he helps his sister successfully, he'll inherit the riches from his mother, right? So I'm thinking if I catch his heart, then my future will be set and I won't have to work at all!"

"...Your such a gold digger. Don't you know already that he's your cousin's sweetheart? And I recommended you for your job to help cheer up Miss Mylene, not flirt with her brother."

"Don't worry Aunt Nanako, I know. I'll be Miss Mylene's best personal servant! While snatching up her brother as my man at the same time, heh-heh."

"I can't help but worry." Eventually, we reach my room's door, but as we were about to open it...

"Mooooom!!!" It was a scream barely audible from far away. We stopped to look for the source, but couldn't find where it came from. "Mooooooooom!!!!" It was louder and nearer this time, but I recognize this voice.

"Aunt Nanako, isn't that Alicia?" I stared in the direction Shizuka was looking, and there she was, running towards us in tears. Isn't she crying a little too often these days?

"MOOOOOOOOOM!!!" She got closer and closer, and when in range, she threw herself right at me.

"Wait, Alicia, don't throw-GACK!" It was too late, and while I manage to catch and hold her up, her weight pushed me against the door. Shizuka did not need to dodge thanks to there being some space between us.

"What the heck, Alicia?! Why did you just throw yourself at me?!" But she ignored me, and instead looked up at me in tears.

"Mom... Mom... Master Leon... He... He..." Master Leon? Wait... Did something happen? Alarm bells rang in my head. Did Owner Risa give a secret order? Is he in danger?

"Alicia, what's this about Master Leon?" I urged looking at her seriously.

"Master Leon... He... He... HE GOT DEFILED BY THAT VIXEN!!! I DIDN'T BELIEVE YOU, BUT I WAS WRONG! MASTER LEON HAS BEEN STOLEN FROM ME BY MISS MYLENE! HIS OWN FLESH AND BLOOD!!!"

"..."

"..." I stood stunned. Shizuka wasn't in Alicia's view, but she was clearly intrigued by what she just heard. But... Master Leon and Miss Mylene...? Isn't that...?

"HUUUHHHH???!!!" We both reacted in surprise, with Alicia herself getting surprised by the arrival of her cousin.

Siblings Resort: Chapter 2 - Nine Months Ago

People believe that Master Leon and I are of the same age, but I'm actually two years older than him. It might not seem like much, but I can't exactly call myself a kid anymore. My body is starting to mature, and so are my feelings and knowledge. The intense education we receive as a benefit of being part of the rich community advances our knowledge of etiquette, writing, history, science, and business management, but for everything else, knowledge is learned naturally. And that includes the natural recognition of the opposite sex.

"Master Leon... I really can't stop thinking about you..." I was sitting beside him as he slept comfortably in the bed. His brown hair is a little messy but it fits his natural style. His night clothes consisting of a plain grey short and a black t-shirt. He looks really at peace, but dawn's morning sunlight coming from the window told me it was time for him to wake up. Still, I couldn't help but desire to keep looking at him, and I gave his nose a quick touch out of impulsiveness. "Boop."

"Hmm... Hm..." As if he was reacting to my touch, he scratched his nose before turning his head around. The visual loss of his face interrupted whatever was causing me to keep staring, and now free from my trance, I quickly got up realizing what I was doing.

"I don't get the logic behind this... Just looking at him gets my heart to act all crazy..." As if to confirm this, I place my hand where my heart is, and it indeed is beating wildly. There was also a warm happy feeling washing over me just by looking at him. "I don't get it... Up until recently, I could interact with him just fine, but now... is this really love...?" Mom told me what I was feeling was love. When I brought up the topic the first time, she was shocked. But then she shook her head before explaining to me calmly that my body and feelings were instinctively recognizing him as a potential marriage partner. That it was using my fixation on him and warm feelings to encourage me to get closer to him, to create a more special bond with him. "This warm feeling, it's scary..."

"You feel the warm feeling too?"

"Huh?!" All of the sudden, Master Leon's face was back to how it was before. His eyelids were no longer in the way of his brown eyes that were threatening me to go back into a trance. I could feel my cheeks getting a little red.

"M-master Leon, you were a-awake?"

"I woke up just now." He sat up from where he was, stretching his hands before looking at me. "So, you get strange warm feelings too?" His eyes looked serious, and that same feeling in me got stronger.

"S-s-strange warm feelings? What do you mean, Master Leon?"

"You don't know? Maybe it is just me..." He turned away, thinking to himself, but I couldn't let this chance get away. Maybe he feels the same way about me?

"Y-you got me curious now. Please, won't you tell me what you mean?"

"I... guess there's no harm in explaining." He turns to look at me again, showing a gentle nervous smile. "Every once in while, when I'm with you, I feel a small warm sensation. I don't really understand it, but it's not like it's... unpleasant? It's just a weird feeling." This explanation... Yeah, I guess it can be considered love...? It doesn't sound too strong though... My good mood is suddenly all gone.

"I see, well Master Leon it's time to get up now. You are to meet your father at the lecture hall for the early morning business lecture. Then, after breakfast, you are to meet your private tutor for some review in business marketing, follow by a quick session in the lesson tube for some knowledge installation. Then-"

"Wait, are you mad at me Alicia? Your stoic face is back and it looks like you're in work mode..."

"I know not what you mean. Now, as I was saying, after your session in the lesson tube, you are to take some time to relax, before going..."

*****

It's now the afternoon, and I'm washing some pots in the kitchen with the help of a stepping stool. I wasn't alone though, there are other servants doing work around me, but I'm not really one to talk to others. The only people I talk to are Master Leon, my mother, and occasionally the master of the mansion.

"I can't believe I went weird again..." It always happens. Whenever I get annoyed at Master Leon, whether intentionally or not, I go stoic. Like some sort of defense mechanism. "It's a wonder how he puts up with me, with all my sudden mood swings..." I put the pot I finish washing off to the side to dry and pick up the next.

"Ms. Starford," a nearby female servant said to me, "Master Leon's afternoon snack is ready. I can take over washing duties if you wish to go see him immediately."

"Ah, really?" I take a look at the time and see his afternoon lecture is almost done. "I guess I will then. Thank you."

"Nothing to worry about. The tray is on the cart already."

"Thank you again." I was already off the stool and pushing it underneath the sink with my foot. Afterward, I spotted Master Leon's food tray on a table kart and exited the kitchen with it. There were other servants roaming the concrete hall besides me, but I couldn't help but look at a young pair, a brown-hair man with a twirled mustache and a red, short-hair woman with freckles walking hand to hand while talking.

"My dear, are you free this evening? I was hoping we can walk around the garden and enjoy the beautiful night sky together."

"I'm sorry, I can't. The master of the mansion is getting home late today, so I have to stay on duty to cook his dinner."

"Oh that's a shame, but maybe..." They were too far away for me to hear anymore, but I wasn't paying that much attention anyway. I was just envious of them.

"From what Master Leon said, it's reasonable to think that he has some feelings for me. He just doesn't understand them..." A door open up at the end of the hall, and Master Leon's figure came into view. He saw me coming, and smile while starting to make his way to me, my face heating up a little.

"Alicia. Thank you for bringing me my afternoon snack as always."

"No problem, you know I'm always happy to."

"I'm glad then. Can we go to the garden today?"

"Of course, Master Leon." We started to walk together towards the center of the property, side by side, and my heart started beating fast again.

"So, how was today's afternoon lecture?" I started in an effort to distract myself.

"Draining," he groans. "I know I say this a lot, but I respect father for managing all the resorts he has. It's ridiculous how much work goes into managing just one."

"That hard?"

"Collectively? Yes. Individually, yes as well but there's a team to help out. The main job is to dictate the theme and its implementations, but when managing multiple, it's a balance game, and one mistake creates so many problems..." He rubs his forehead, which I know is his way to stop an incoming headache.

"I-I see... Sorry, I didn't mean to trouble you."

"Naw, it's nothing. A little rest is all I need." We exited the building, and enter the open-air garden. There's a giant tree in the middle, surrounded by mulch and bushes that encircle the perimeter. Scattered around the perimeter were smaller trees and other bushes, with rare flowers every so often. It was a beautiful place that was right at the center of the property. Leaving the food kart behind, Master Leon grabbed the tray of food and started walking to a picnic table with me right behind him.

"I still think I should be the one carrying the tray Master Leon."

"It is the norm, but I don't want to abuse you, Alicia. While you are my personal servant, I still want you as a friend too."

"That's a bit embarrassing, but I'm glad you feel that way. I consider you a friend too."

"I would hope so, we spent our entire life together."

"Yeah, I guess that would help too, heh-heh..." The pleasant warm feeling washed over me again. Being with Master Leon really brought me much joy. As we sat down, sharing the sandwiches that were on the tray, we enjoy the nature that surrounded us. The chirping of birds that lived nearby, the warmth of the sunlight, and the gentle breeze that would mess up my hair to my dismay. Master Leon laughed, while all I could do was pout. Eventually, though, Master Leon took a look at the time, and I could tell that he needed to leave soon.

"Sorry Alicia, but I need to start heading back. I have my last lecture of the day coming up," he said standing up.

"Yeah, I know..." It was really fun, but I know more than anyone to not mess with Master Leon's schedule. It was for the good of his future, after all, but even so...

"Hey, no need to be upset. Let's see, today... father will be coming home late. Do you think we can spend the night together?"

"Tonight? Yeah, it shouldn't be a problem," I responded cheerfully. Any more time with Master Leon is always welcome.

"Great, then shall we meet in my room? Or do you want to spend the night in our secret base?" As I was thinking, I remember the pair that I walked by when pushing the food kart. The man said something about the night sky.

"Actually, Master Leon, I heard that the sky is beautiful at night. Do you think... we could meet up here to look at it together?" I asked blushing a little.

"The night sky? Yeah, that would be cool to see. Maybe we'll get lucky and see a shooting star."

"Really?! Then we'll meet here?"

"Sure. Come after dinner, I'll have some sweets ready."

"Sure, I'll see you tonight!" Master Leon walked away after that, and my facial expression showed all the joy I was feeling without my consent. It wasn't until later that I realize I failed as a servant for letting Master Leon get the sweets ready in my stead.

*****

"W-what... did... you just... say...?" My face is in horror. It was just after dinner, and I was in my light blue sleeping nightgown. I was exiting my room to go meet up with Master Leon when a bunch of women in dark blue suits came up to me. They were being led by the pair of servants I passed by earlier that were holding hands. The freckled woman visually sad while the twirl mustache man just shows an expression of pity.

"Child," one of the women in suits said, "I don't think that the subject is something that should be spoken out loud without necessity. Can you just tell us if he's in your room? We were unable to find him in his." I stood in silence and shock, but the woman kept glaring at me expecting an answer. What I just heard... What they came here for... They were going to take Master Leon away from me.

"Child," she repeated impatiently. The freckled woman, however, broke down and cried on her knees when she saw my face. The man remained without a change in his expression, but I didn't really care. Instead, I just dashed away, as if by instinct, and headed straight to Master Leon. I couldn't control my face, I couldn't hide my fear, my sadness. Tears were dropping like crazy, and I care not.

"Master Leon, Master Leon, MASTER LEON!" I'm about to lose him, I'm about to never see him again! There has to be something I can do! The garden was close to my room, so I reached it in no time, and in the distance, I saw Master Leon looking up to the starry night sky in his grey short and black t-shirt. He was on the picnic bench from earlier, with a tray of cupcakes next to him. "MASTER LEON!!!"

"Woah?!" Startled, he turned to me and immediately realized something was up. He ran and met me halfway, instantly holding me in a tight embrace as I practically threw myself at him. "Alicia, what's wrong?!" he asked while separating himself enough from me to see my face. I, not caring for any formalities said the first thing that came to mind.

"Master, please run away with me!"

"Huh?! Wait, what do you mean?! Alicia, what's going on?! Please, you're scaring me!"

"Master, please, there's little time! Please, PLEASE! I beg you, let's run away Master! PLEASE!

"Alicia, what's going on?! Y-you know I can't! As much as I want to, I have Father to care for as well! He wouldn't approve! He's been training me to inherit his legacy, how could I abandon him for everything he's done to me!" My face, which was already a mess and fill with tears, must have somehow gotten worse as there was an immediate worried response in his expression. To get him to run away with me, to break that nail that's keeping him here, I could do it by telling him what I just learned, but I don't want to be the one to tell him. I don't want him to associate it with me every time he looks at me. I have no choice but to beg and hope for a miracle.

"Please, Master Leon, you don't know it yet, but you lost it all! And I mean everything, but if you at least run away with me, I'll be able to stay by your side! Please, please! We don't have much time!" We heard the sounds of an approaching group of people and turned to look. The women in suits that I saw by my room were almost here. Absolute dread fills my face, and I turn to him and wail one last time. "LEON!!!" His response to this was absolute fear, but he shook his head for a little courage.

"I-I can't! I don't understand what's happening, but if I really lost everything, I'm not going to drag you into my mess, Alicia! I don't want to make your life miserable by staying with me!" The dam that was holding the last of my tears broke, and I cried without control. The group of women had reached us, and I immediately tighten my hug with Leon as much as I could, not caring about the tears that could smear his clothing.

"Lock the girl in her room," the one who talked earlier commanded. As her companions got near, Leon instinctively tighten his grip around me but was overpowered like I was through their teamwork. As he was held in place, a group was taking me away.

"MASTER LEON! MASTER LEOOOOON!!!" Leon was clearly scared, confused, but I could tell he was trying to at least maintain his dignity while I could still see him. He did his best to control his emotions and looked at the leader of the squad. As for me, they covered my mouth with their hands and I could do nothing but listen as the commander gave Master the crushing news.

"Leon Solstone. At approximately midday today, your father passed away. As such, with the lack of will, custody of you and everything he owns goes to the closest family member of legal age. In this case, his divorce wife, and she has accepted the properties but ordered for you to be put up for adoption. You are to gather the necessities from your room and come with us immediately." By the end of her statement, I could no longer see my Master, or hear a word of his reply if he said anything at all.

Siblings Resort: Chapter 1 - Prosper or Abandonment

A young girl is standing in front of me. Her brown eyes, which are the same color as her hair, are cast down with a gloomy expression on her face. She's wearing a magenta dress and a big red bow on her hair, and next to her is another girl similar in age, with straight white hair that reached her waist. Her magenta eyes complimenting the black dress she wore. In front of them is me, a young boy with the same brown eyes and hair as the girl with the red bow, wearing an unbuttoned formal blue suit and pants with a light blue shirt underneath.

"What?! but I just got here! What do you mean I'll be put up for adoption again?"

"The master of the mansion," the white hair girl said with a stoic face, "gave the order. You are to help Miss Mylene dictate and successfully develop one of the islands into a prosperous resort. Failure to do so will result in both of you being cut from the Solstone family and being put up for adoption."

"N-no, way..." The strength in my legs gave up and I fell to my knees. The white hair girl's face gave up a sad expression for a quick second before going back to being stoic again. As for the girl with brown hair, her gloomy expression turns to one of pure sadness. Tears formed in the corners of her eyes, but she tried her best to not break down.

"Mother," she began in a trembling voice, "gave me the assignment a while ago. I studied examples of existing places and I tried to copy what they did. But it didn't work, no matter how many times I tried. And mom, she won't let me see her anymore... And now, she doesn't want me even living in the same home as her..."

"What?" During my astonished remark, the white hair girl stepped forward to grab and pull my hand to help me stand up.

"You're to leave for the target island midday tomorrow. I and a couple of other staff members will accompany you to ensure every need is attended to. There's already a headquarters built on the island where all operations will take place."

"She's sending us there?!"

"Mother, just why...?" Tears were forming more rapidly on the brown hair girl's face. "I-I-I tried really hard..."

"Miss Mylene?"

"I-I-I..." the girl stuttered, "I tried... no, trying, really really hard... I'm trying really really really hard. Really really hard b-but I... I just DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO!" She couldn't hold back her tears any longer and ran out of the room crying. There was an awkward pause after the door closed behind her until I broke it with a sigh of exasperation. Turning my gaze to look directly at the white hair's girl eyes...

"Alicia, I want to talk to you. The real you." The girl flinched, but turn her gaze away to try to hide her frustrated look as the stoic persona she created started to evaporate.

"Master Leon, the real me has nothing to say to you. After all, you made the choice to cut me off."

"...Heh." There was another awkward silence, but I couldn't help but chuckle before grabbing her into a tight hug.

"E-eh? Hey, what are you doing?!" Alicia was now flustered, trying to get free while refusing to look me in the eyes. "What part of cutting me off did you not understand?!"

"I missed you."

"Huh?!" The flustered girl stopped struggling, and just stood in shock. Nothing like the girl who was standing there before.

"I missed you. A lot. I was naive. I thought I was doing you a favor by cutting you off, but I was so naive."

"T-that's..."

"I took you for granted. I didn't realize how important you were to me. These last nine months were horrible. A nightmare come to life. Everyone I met would berate me. Tear my stuff apart, pull nasty pranks, and..."

"M-master Leon...?"

"Ah, no it's nothing." I unknowingly weakened my grip, and she took the chance to separate from me, but not too much. She just eyed me with suspicious eyes. "The point is, I would think of you whenever I get upset or alone and get really lonely. Wishing you were there with me."

"How can you say that with a straight face?! It's embarrassing!"

"Huh, what is?"

"And you still haven't matured enough to grasp the deeper meaning of what you're saying! Oh, that is so unfair!" She instinctively started hitting my chest lightly, trying to drown out the embarrassment. "Really, Master Leon is so unfair!"

"Heh."

"Okay, now you're just being mean! You know what? Fine! I don't care anymore! Just tell me what you need already so I can leave your stupid face alone!" I smiled at her reaction, a strange happiness coming over me.

"This is how you should be. I was afraid you were permanently stuck in work mode when I came in." Seeing my smile, Alicia shows an exasperated look and gave a sigh of her own.

"Look, we can continue this later, but what is it that you need?" She became more serious, so I answered in the same way.

"What exactly is going on? Who is that girl? And this resort situation, what is that all about?"

"That girl is your long-lost sister. Or at least that's what I've gathered from her stories. Said that when she was born, her parents divorced and her mother took her while your father took you."

"You're... being serious. So that girl really is my sister? Father did tell me the same story at times when drunk, but I thought he was messing around."

"No, my mother confirmed the story. She's one hundred percent your biological sister. And for better or worse, the new master of the mansion is your biological mother."

"I... I don't understand. She kicked me out of the house, which is cruel enough itself. But she takes me back to help her daughter and threatens to abandon her too if I fail?! What is she, an enigma?"

"Can't help you there. It's my mother who serves her. I was put in charge of Miss Mylene, but not even either of them understand her." At her response, I massage my forehead in an attempt to stop the incoming headache. That woman... I can't even finish that sentence.

"...And about the resort?"

"I don't know what else to tell you about the resort. An order from your mother to Miss Mylene from the moment she took over. No idea as to the reason why. Just that she wants Mylene to manage it, and has even prepared a headquarters for her months in advance."

"...Sounds to me she wants to get rid of her."

"Yep." Despite the lazy answer, Alicia was a little bit upset about this, showing concern in her expression. "Of course, I haven't told her this fact. She is a good girl though, so it's a bit underserving. Listens to everyone around her, and she really does try her best. The problem is she wasn't rich before coming here."

"You're talking about why she's not doing well with the island resort situation?"

"Yeah, I mean, our parents are rich. We've been taught using special medicine and technological programs to have knowledge beyond what kids our age normally know. As a common citizen, she's average at best."

"You know, even if we're advanced for our age, it's still a HUGE jump from doing the theories to actually start managing a resort. That's just ludicrous!" Alicia just raised her shoulders in response.

"Still have to do it. But wha-" Pausing for some reason, she got a bit nervous after getting an idea. Her face blushing a bit, her right hand twirling some hair as she looked at the floor. "That is... unless you h-have other ideas?"

"Other ideas? Hmmm...No, not re-" Out of nowhere, I suddenly remember a request that was begged to me nine months ago. From a girl who was desperate and crying. "Running away..." I whispered. Alicia jolted at the mention of these words. For some reason, she smiles despite still being red.

"Y-you remember."

"Yeah, it's the moment I thought about most for the past nine months..." Alicia nervously looked up, her face practically steaming from how red she was.

"I-I know you rejected the idea before, but I'm still okay with running away w-with you..."

"...It's a choice, but a pretty bold one..."

"Ah!? I didn't mean anything weird by that! It just..." Alicia pauses for a second, looking gloomy. "It's just that I didn't think I would ever see you again. The thought alone really hurts and if the situation seems hopeless, why not run away with me so that we can still be together? While we still have a chance..."

"...I've hurt you. I'm sorry."

"Yeah, you did. But... at least I'm seeing you now. A miraculous second chance." Her expression lighten as she gave me a nervous smile.

"..." This is a big decision. She's not wrong, this is a second chance to do what I did not have the courage to do before. I regretted my choice the first time around. Should I really be making the same choice again...?

"M-master Leon...?" Her words released me from my trance. My eyes were attracted to her beautiful magenta eyes. Magenta... like the color of a skirt. Her skirt.

"Alicia, if we ran away, would we take Mylene too?" My words confused her at first, but then she caught on. She thought about it for a little while, and then gave me a serious response, but not before letting a disappointed expression escape for a quick second.

"Miss Mylene... Right... I guess it would be cruel to leave her behind. To be honest, I'm not that close to her, so I'm indifferent in either case here. It is possible, but she doesn't trust us. It would be hard to convince her."

"I see." Right, we don't know each other. Running away is an option, but only me and Alicia would be okay with this plan from the start. If we asked and she refused our offer, she would have to be left behind. It would be a decision she made, so it would be fair, but... I shook my head to showcase my exasperation. "This decision is too big to make on the fly. I'll need to sleep on it."

"I guess that's fair, but our limit is tomorrow morning, so don't take too long." She pauses, her eyes widening remembering something. "Ah, that's right, sleeping arrangements."

"Sleeping arrangements?"

"Your mother said to have you sleep on the couch, but I've maintained our secret base. You can sleep there if you prefer."

"Mother sure is cruel..." I said at my limits with her. "Yeah, I'll do that. Ah, right. Will we be sleeping together tonight?"

"Sleeping together?" Alicia repeated.

"Yeah, us together tonight." There was a pause, and Alicia suddenly started to panic.

"HAAAH?!" Her face exploded with emotions in that instance. From astonishment, to shyness, to embarrassment, her face was like a rainbow. "US?! SLEEPING?! TONIGHT?! TOGETHER?! W-WAIT! WAIT-WAIT-WAIT-WAIT-WAIT! WAIT! My heart is not ready! We're not of legal age yet! We're also master and servant, it would be forbidden! And tonight, I have to get everything ready for tomorrow! Oh, why did I procrastinate?! If only I didn't have my head in the clouds during the day, maybe we could've-"

"Alicia, calm down! What's wrong?" I took hold of her shoulders so she stop spinning around like a nervous wreck. This was the first time she has ever acted like this.

"What?! Calm down?! How can I calm down when y-y-y-you just suggested for us to become adu-" At that instant, for some reason, she stopped moving completely, and turned to look at me directly in the eyes. Studying me, as if searching for something.

"GNNENENENENENE!" She started growling for some reason, and before I knew it, I was on my butt on the floor.

"MASTER LEON, YOU ARE REALLY STUPIIIIIID! STUPID FACE! STUPID MASTER! PLAYER! NO! I'M NOT GOING TO SLEEP WITH YOU! JUST GO TO SLEEP ALONE TONIGHT, YOU STUPID MASTER! COLD AND ALONE! AND STAY COLD AND ALONE UNTIL I GO WAKE YOU UP TOMORROW, STUPID FACE!" With that, Alicia violently slammed the door close and I was left scared and alone on the concrete floor.

"W-what was that about?!"
