Thirty chapters! This one's coming super early in the month as I'm prepping for the compressed schedule I usually run in preparation for the year-end holidays. Still, pretty proud to be getting this story up to thirty chapters now!

This update is very much Izuku-centric even though we've got some Ochaco POV squeezed in there. This is where we get some of the changes for him, especially with how he deals with his One for All.

I also managed to tack-on some reactions to how Minoru and Momo behave with the rest of the class.

After this, it's back with Minoru and we'll get to finally see his quirk in action. I'm looking forward to that. Very much so.

As always the Delver and Collated archives have been updated.

Cheers! See y'all this coming weekend for Chateau.

Thanks for your patience, everyone!

Feeling a lot better, and while I'd say I'm still a little bit under the weather, my mind definitely feels significantly clearer now.

So we've got ourselves a new Halloween Special. This one is going to be running longer than previous, and will very likely will be running all the way until the end of the year instead of just a single or double-update.

I'd originally hoped to have the whole thing be very self-contained, but I couldn't make it feel right without giving it some time to breathe.

Here's to hoping the ride will be as enjoyable for you guys as it will be for me to write.

And yes, it's based vaguely on Dressmaker. I'd been watching my girlfriend playing through the game and was pretty enamoured with the vampire character. I decided I wanted to do something with it with some RWBY flavour.

This wraps up October, though we'll be chugging along as regular on updates this coming weekend since we're rolling over into November.

See y'all next weekend for Den.

Cheers!

We face some of the aftermath of the Battle of Pakaua Hao. It comes with a bit of worldbulding and we get what I think is the first POV segment of Ozma!

Raven also has to deal with some unfortunate realities of her situation despite coming out with a win in the last chapter. A shame that the world seems to be continuing to fall apart around her.

On the bright side, her family is still whole!

That's about it. We'll be catching up with Jaune and his new faunus after this.

As always, the Delver and Collated archives have been updated and the previous entry is now available to all supporters.

See y'all next week for the upcoming Halloween special.

Cheers!

Introducing Yin Branwen!

While this turned out a bit shorter than I'd intended, we'll be getting ourselves a nice full chapter from Yin's PoV. She's just getting started right now and I wanted to establish a baseline from Raven's point of view.

She's growing fast, though, so she should be getting caught up relatively soon. Perhaps even next chapter!

This one got dark, yo. But on-brand enough for Chateau, I'd say.

Not much else besides that. The previous entry is now available to all supporters and the Delver and Collated archives have been updated.

Besides that, I'm happy to say we're definitely getting a Halloween special this year. It's not another entry in Burnt Offering but something entirely new. All I can say is that Dressmaker has been fun.

Cheers, and see y'all next week for Conquest.

So I couldn't resist, and decided to reference the original manga chapter that takes place at around the same time as the events of this one.

Felt thematically appropriate, especially since we're really starting with canon proper now.

I may or may not have also enjoyed writing some of the lines of this chapter very, very much. You guys might know which ones.~

That said, I do have some complicated feelings about this. I used it to introduce the characters to each other as well as put in perspective just how deviated from canon we've become with various people. But I also wondered if we could have just skipped this and gone straight for the start of term.

Hells, this chapter is even told entirely from Minoru's perspective. A surprising rarity for this story.

Well, part of the learning experience. Maybe if I was more concerned about keeping this story as compact as possible. It may work to just let things breathe. After all, I like to think there was some good characterization done in this chapter.

Would love to hear what y'all think.

Cheers!

As always, the Delver and Collated archives have been updated, and the previous entry is now available to all supporters.

Have a good one, everyone, and see you all next week for Chateau.

Man, this one fought me.

Still, I found myself missing writing like this a little bit. No plot — no real plot, no pacing. Just fun. Dwelling as long as I wanted on specific actions and acts and just basking in the moment, really.

Hope that showed through the text and I hope y'all enjoy this one.

Expect more from Renamon in the future! Though we may take a break next month because I'm considering doing holiday specials. And it's nonstop holidays between now and the end of the year. Hah!

Not much more to say after that. Fourth quarter business is settling in, and I'll likely be doing my usual thing with end-of-year where we have a compressed schedule in November and December.

In the meantime, updates will continue as scheduled.

Cheers, and I'll see y'all next week for the first of October's updates: Den.
