For this month's theme, I decided I needed a little bit of the Wild West in my life, so I decided to flesh out another world within my larger universe, specifically Incarcerus IV. The world is stuck in an age comparable to the American Old West, following a great upheaval in the planet’s very makeup due to a malfunctioning terraformer, left abandoned by the Dark Elves who once used it as a prison and laboratory for their questionable experiments, now a burgeoning, if isolated, world filled with people and dangers all its own.

The idea for this world was inspired by Vampire Hunter D, Deadlands, and an idea I'd had in the back of my mind for a long time, so at the time I just decided to run with it. This series of entries introduces Kumiko Stalks-Amongst-the-Stars, a shaman of the Midnight Panther tribe of Kerra-Kerra (kerryn) living upon the Broken Cage that Still Imprisons (their name for the world), as she recounts lore about the history of the world and its many inhabitants and dangers.

Fun fact: Kumiko is featured in a story I've written that is on track to be released in an upcoming collection of pulp adventure stories! Stay tuned for news on that front as it develops; hopefully it'll be out by the end of the third quarter or start of the fourth quarter this year!
