For those who perform the ritual on a full moon, the changes are always the same. For one night, some patches of light fur appear, their canines grow into small fangs, their fingernails and toenails become small claws and their ears form a wolfish point. Once the sun comes up, the changes fully revert. For most, to get even these small changes for one night requires repeating the ritual every full moon.

Sophia didn't know or do the ritual, nor was it quite the full moon. And yet, as the full moon rose a few days later, she changed...
