Huge thanks for your support. Unfortunately, due to my free time and lack of ideas, I can't offer more at the moment. But your support is greatly appreciated and will help me a lot with this game development
Thank you so much for your amazing support! It really means a lot and keeps me motivated. With your generosity, I’m closer to leaving my IRL job and fully focusing on developing adult games. I'm working even harder now to make it the best it can be!
Imagine waking up in your hospital room and no one around. What's more, the whole hospital looks abandoned, and all of New Kroy is in ruins. That's the fate that met Ethan. A couple of months ago, his father was laid off from his job. His sister disappeared 2 years ago, and the search for her led nowhere. The adult world he aspired to lies beneath his feet and somewhere in the far away fallen buildings, just like his dreams and goals of his quiet life. In this chaos he was able to find his sister, who doesn't even recognize him, doesn't talk at all, and half of her body is covered in mysterious ashy spots. Is it war? Or have we been attacked by terrorists? Why did my sister only show up now and what happened to her? So many questions and no answers... Now, in this empty and ruined city, he must fight to survive and protect those left alive in this ruthless and dangerous world

Before I dive into the development update for the game, I want to apologize for my long silence. Life in IRL hasn’t gotten any easier, and I still need to pay the bills, so I haven’t been able to dedicate as much time and attention to game development as I’d like (Weekly Renders too).
Thank you all for your support, units!
The first and most noticeable change is the switch to a new game engine: Godot.
I got tired of constantly fixing bugs and limitations in RPG Maker, so I decided it was time to move on and port the game over. However, this isn’t as simple as it sounds. I had to choose between RenPy and Godot. RenPy is great because it’s super straightforward and perfect for visual novels. But Godot, while more complex, offers the flexibility to implement almost any idea (if you have the skills). Even before working on Thirsty Pathogen, I was torn between RenPy and RPG Maker. I didn’t just want to make a visual novel... I wanted to create something more. I wanted to balance gameplay and story equally. So, I had to choose between the easy route with limited possibilities (RenPy) or the harder path with a more interesting game and, most importantly for me, the freedom to build the game exactly how I want, without engine restrictions or censorship holding me back.
Here’s just a small list of what will now be possible thanks to the new engine:
• Ability to choose the game's language
• PC and Mobile (Android) versions
• User-friendly settings menu, save system, etc.
• Unique gameplay features: Battles, inventory, mini-games, and more
• Release on Steam (I’ll give for patrons a free activation key)
Next, to avoid repetition, let’s define terms for the previous and new versions of the game: Legacy refers to the RPG Maker version.
There are a few things I’ve wanted to tweak for a while but couldn’t because I’d already written the "code" or created renders, and redoing everything felt like too much work. This is a common issue when making changes to a game on the fly. You write the plot, dialogues, renders, and then when you start putting it all together, the vision in your head always feels way cooler than the reality. So you end up making quick changes, cutting some stuff, and adding others.
The plot will see some tweaks. The core will remain the same, as will the characters. However, there will be shifts in their behavior, especially Emma. Don’t worry, she won’t lose her sweet and innocent personality from the Legacy version, but she’ll gain something important that I’ve wanted to bring into the game and story for a long time but didn’t know how to put it properly. Trust me, you’ll like it. Oh, and [REDACTED] fetish fans might even be hyped :P
I’ve got tons of ideas swirling around in my head that I want to add to the game. Here are my top priorities that guide development:
1. Story comes first
2. High-quality XXX scenes or access to them
3. Gameplay mechanics (world-building, inventory, RPG elements)
4. Challenges (battles, puzzles, relationships/corruption)
In the Legacy version, I learned from my mistakes and will avoid repeating them. That color puzzle, for example, caused headaches not only for players but also for me. I was limited by RPG Maker’s constraints, which made it hard to achieve what I envisioned. I simplified it significantly, but even then, many players struggled with the generator room puzzle with colors.
Puzzles like that will still exist, but they’ll be much simpler and optional if you’re more focused on the story or XXX scenes than gameplay. The setting won’t change, but I’m planning a more linear narrative with less open-world exploration. This will reduce grinding significantly, though the grinding that remains will be engaging because I want to include unique scenarios during scavenging - both gameplay related and XXX scenes.
The technical side isn’t complete yet, but it’s close. I’ve rewritten the story up to the Legacy point but haven’t finished the continuation. There’s already a “Main Menu,” rough drafts for Options, and a very basic template for battles.
Obviously, everything you see here is mostly placeholders. A lot isn’t implemented yet, including turn order, enemies, inventory, player stats (health/attack), and battle history.
What you are wearing will be considered in battle. Inventory will play a significant role, but you can skip battles entirely by toggling an option in the settings. The combat system itself is simple:
1. Select an enemy
2. Choose how to attack
3. A Damage Bar will appear. Click or tap the screen when the arrow hits MISS / 1.0x / CRIT (Red Skull), where MISS means you miss, 1.0x deals standard damage, and CRIT (Red Skull) lands a critical hit (2.0x, or sometimes even a one-shot).
4. Enemy turn
Let me repeat: you CAN skip battles if they don’t interest you. Combat won’t be a major focus, nor will it occur frequently - it’s purely for entertainment and light challenge. Other game elements serve similar purposes. The primary focus will remain on the story and XXX scenes.
I’ll try to preemptively answer questions you might have, along with ones I often get in DMs.
Q. When can I play?
A. No idea. I need to work in IRL a lot to earn money. My best guess? [REDACTED]. Maybe sooner.
Q. What platforms will the game be available on?
A. PC and Mobile (Android). Unfortunately, Mac and browser versions won’t be supported.
Q. Will the game support **YOUR LANGUAGE?**
A. It depends on the community, that means you! I’d love to add translations. Thanks to the new engine, it’s now easy to implement. All you need to do is translate from English to your language, no coding required.
Q. Will old Legacy saves work in the new version?
A. No. This is a completely different engine, and the story has changed. Legacy saves can’t be transferred.
Q. Wouldn’t it be easier and quicker to use RenPy?
A. Easier, yes. But not better. This game is a my hobby, not a money making venture. If profit were my goal, I’d churn out countless low-effort visual novels using RenPy, weak plots, bad renders, no animations, and zero unique features.
Q. What inspires you?
A. I took inspiration from the book Alone by James Phelan, combined it with the SCP universe, and took some inspiration from franchises like Resident Evil, The Walking Dead, etc.
Q. What will happen to the Legacy version?
A. Nothing. [REDACTED] might happen, but I don’t want to make any promises :)
Q. How can I get the Steam key for this game?
A. Once the game is ready, it’ll launch on Steam. Releasing an unfinished game violates Steam rules. Everyone who helped or supported me during development will receive a steam key, but it’s too early to discuss for now.
Q. How will the Steam version differ from the free version?
A. The free version will have limited features, similar to the Legacy version (e.g., cheat codes, gallery access). Higher-tier SubscribeStar supporters will unlock more in-game perks. Until Steam release, reward structures for patrons won’t change much.
Q. Are you part of a dev team, or is this a solo project?
A. Nope, It’s just me.
Q. Can I increase the game resolution beyond 1280x720?
A. Technically, yes, but quality may suffer since renders are optimized for 1280x720. I’ll think about that, but this isn’t final answer.
Q. What are the system requirements will be?
A. If you can run any RenPy visual novel, you can run this game.
Q. Will there be censorship?
A. No.
