As you all know, I took 2 weeks off of main development at the end of March.
A week of that was just "me time." The other week was me working on new non-story related stuff, a backlog of errors that needed fixing, and writing (I don't particularly find writing to be 'work' as I quite enjoy it).
Yay!
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR 0.12.0:
AS OF 0.12.0, I am going to be working on tracking my progress and what files I work on so that I can make an update patch for return players.
Much like the compression versions I made with folks that have limited HDD space and bad internet, I understand that 9gb is... daunting and unnecessary for a trashy little visual novel like mine, so staring on 0.12.0, I should hopefully have a much smaller patch in which all you would need to do is drag and drop into the root folder of Detached in order to update.
The only caveat is that you would need to be on the previous version to be able to do this. So if you are 2 or more updates behind, it's the full game for you!
While it is beyond my current ability, I will look into automatic updates in the future. (This isn't going to be for a long time though.)

New Choice Buttons! No more pesky buttons covering Daine’s beloved beard!
New Sandbox UI! Tired of diving into the menus and having to push, like, 3 or 4 buttons to get that precious information that you want? Now you have important information like Affection and event hints with a single button click when you’re in the sandbox portion! Yay!
Expanded on the event hints to include hints for events that play after other events. Now all character events have hints.
MORE PESKY CAPITALIZATIONS FOLLOWING ELLIPSES HAVE BEEN FIXED. (Thanks for everyone meticulously picking them out for me. You make my game better)
Temporarily removed some unused files that were causing a boot error on Macs.
PUBLIC RELEASE NOTE:The public release is being pushed forward to today instead of tomorrow as I will be too busy with IRL stuff to update on schedule tomorrow. Yay!

Anywhore, as of the public release and I am now on my two week development break.
I'm still active (lol) on my socials (Discord, social media, etc). What else will I be doing? Probably playing some games, maybe draw a bit (I'm actually in the middle of something right now), definitely catch up on a few VNs.
I also wanna practice and master Timeline on CharaStudio so I can start making my own animations, and to be able to modify the ones I have access to. Think of the TikTok potentials.
NOTE ON STARTING UP THE NEW UPDATE! If you saved on the Chapter 1 End screen, please scroll back into the prior event once you load then proceed as usual. If you took my advice and saved before the Chapter 1 End screen, then this does not apply to you.

Converted a few event images from PNG to WebP that were missed in a previous update, and converted a few Wav files to MP3, shaving a couple hundred MB of space off the game.
Some minor grammatical errors fixed

New COMPRESSED PC and Mac builds. Visually not as great, but if you’re lacking in hard drive space, or have poor internet connection, they’re a fine alternative as they are under 1GB, as opposed to the SUPER BEEFY regular versions of the game. NOTE ON THE COMPRESSED MAC BUILD: I don’t have a Mac, so like the full size Mac build, it is untested.
MAN, what a freaking slog this one was, gotdang. And by that, I mean, a LOT of extra effort went into this one.

JUST A NOTE FOR THE END OF THIS UPDATE: This update end on the (final) cliffhanger of this chain of events. Unlike the previous update, it ends on an automatic infinite loop.
If saved on that screen, you will get an error upon loading it again warning of an infinite loop. Just hit ignore to go back to the end screen, as it should resolve itself in the next update.
That said, I do suggest a quick scroll back and save just before that screen just in case. I am a noob coder and therefore am, by no means, an expert in these things.

THEM PESKY CAPITALISATIONS FOLLOWING ELLIPSES HAVE BEEN FIXED. The ones that didn’t make sense, anyway. One of my players were kind enough to compile an entire list of them for me, and I have managed to chunk all of the ones that were gross and grammatically incorrect out.
Event replays now have options at the beginning of the replay to trigger flags that effect changes in the event. This only affects events that have flags in them.
Fixed a couple of event replays that didn’t have music to play, as they used the same song in the previous event. These events now have songs that play in them in replays.

Added MOAR HINTS in all Character Events screens to hopefully alleviate the sandbox fatigue. Now you know when(ish) events can be triggered. Beside the event title, there will be a written indicator in brackets like this: (Weekday/Weekend/*Specific Day of the Week*).
Fixed Requirements for Main Event ‘Desperation’. Hints said Rose Event ‘The Octave of Ambience’, but wouldn’t start until after Rose Event ‘Intelligence Gig’ instead. This has been fixed.
Fixed Audrey’s call hangout options. The repeatable lewd option was showing up if you didn’t choose the lewd option in the Audrey Event “Generic Porn Plot"

Reworked event colours for QoL reasons
Green is for events triggered by calls. The other colours remain the same (Purple = lewd with choice, Red = lewd without choice/Lewd choice made in Purple Event, and Blue = Non-lewd choice made in Purple Event).
In the event that a call event leads to lewds, Green takes priority.
Also, because I am a liar and it was requested, there is now an additional explanation for all of this in my in-game blurb at the beginning of the sandbox.
Added in scroll bars for events and hints for easier navigation.
Fixed Rose’s Bar generic event render to the correct one. Previously had Lupe’s.
Daine no longer steals Hanako’s line in the ‘Courtesy Rounds’ event.
New songs have not been added to Zeke’s Jam Session. For whatever reason, it crashes when I add them, so I will hopefully have that figured out by 0.5.0.
