Hi mature people,

I've been threatening to write one of these for at least two weeks. It is owed and overdue at this point. So, I will provide on the condition I do not have to wear pants while giving it.

First thing I want to address: comics. They will now be a bi-weekly thing starting whenever I start doing them again with a new artist. I want to give more focus to:

The audios. At this rate, with the sheer number of scripts recorded? I can produce at least a 8-10 minutes more regularly. My goal is at least 10-12 minutes of audio one week, comic the next, with supplementary art and WIPs in between as they come.

I can do it. At this point, I've grown a little as a person and I'm letting other people help me out with writing when I need it, our cast is huge and I feel like I owe it to them to keep them busy with their characters (and some new ones), and I've gone back to having a co-editor on audios (Jerome's the reason we have both a WIP and a Part 1 audio this week).

It's a lot to maintain. We're gonna need all the support we can get, which brings me to our next point:

Instagram. 

(Yes, I know It's lame to talk about marketing with followers. But it's important. Trust me. Hold my hand, we'll get through this. I promise.)

For the past few years I've made other social sites seem like the de-facto places to follow for Yuki news, updates, and public releases. But now? Instagram actually seems like the only social media site with some sense behind the wheel. Where growth is actually achievable for a small creator like me, if we have the stuff to show (and we do).

If Kitten and I are to get to the storylines we want to do? Too often I've gone "ehh...we need to prioritize this audio/script" and put aside really banger concepts. So we need to be able to reach more folks like you all. Too often the attention gets insulated in our community. No longer, it's gotta spread.

Ok, so I’ve been thinking about how to talk about this all night. Which is super convenient, I didn’t have anything else going on, like finishing Bone Us 9.

There’s a bigger, angrier discussion to be had here, I might make a second post later, but for now let me keep it relevant and educational:

As many of you already learned, yesterday, Discord announced that Age Enshittification Verification will be hitting their apps and platform on a global scale next month. All your adult friends from the UK or the Bible Belt who Discord prohibited from servers and channels lest they give up their private information? It’s happening to you now. Regardless of your state or country’s A/V laws.

This is not something a VPN can fix because it is, supposedly, rolling out everywhere.

Here’s what we know:

How this will effect the Yuki: Space Assassin server specifically:

The last thing I want to do is cause a panic. As early as yesterday, we’ve seen Discord walk back on a few of their statements (keep cancelling Nitro folks). Worst case scenario is we will be offloading some NSFW aspects of our great, kink-friendly community to other adjacent spaces.

Such as our subreddit: r/YukiSpaceAssassin. Over the next few days. I’ll be doing some redesigning and redecorating to make it more conducive to sharing and community rather than just acting as a repository for art and comics.

Is it immune to AV laws? No. Will we likely have this discussion again in 6-12 months? Maybe. But for now, you don’t need an account to view it, VPNs still work as they aren’t early capitulating worms (that we see yet), and it’s our second biggest space.

I won't pretend that I can control where this community will remain or find itself to be, but wherever it is, you bet I will be there. And to stay up to date on where we have a social media presence? Keep our linktr.ee bookmarked always.

<sigh> There’s a risk to explaining all this in the way that I’ve done. Pairing down my emotions, tangents, getting it down to the essentials. Nice and easy-to-follow rules, instructions, and contingencies. ‘Walk to the nearest exit, line up in the parking lot, put your head between your knees,’ etc. That kind of framing exists to make things sound normal.

Make no mistake dear listeners: this is not fucking normal, it’s not fucking right, and they are lying to your face when they say they have to do this, or that they’re doing this “for the k*ds.” The narrative that they're doing this to "give t*ens" a seat at the table (something no t*en ever wants), this is a narrative for their shareholders and no one else.

Because the truth is, they did not have to do this. This is nothing but early capitulation, which they still have a chance to walk back on.

There are a lot of problems in this world right now. None of them are erotica, or the people who enjoy it.

It's been a minute since I slowed down and talked about WTF am I even doing? I'm choosing to see that as a good thing, I'm doing more walk than talk lately.

But, I also don't have a lot of stuff ready to show at the moment. December was a month of seeding. Therefore, now's as good a time as any to bounce you all on my lap, knee, or any appendage of your choice, and let Papa Bug tell you all a story.

I was gonna reveal what's in store at D23 this year, but I have yet to get a response for my lifetime ban appeal. If I make this a bulleted list will it go by faster? Maybe, let's see.

- Bone Us 5: The Careerist and an audio of Issue 5: Kyra. Not shocking as they're the ones with the most progress according to our regularly updated production schedule here, and I'm working on the former, it's nearly done, and the latter's been assembled and won't be a challenge. Moving on...

- Issue 8: Bombshells. Another Kiza/Yuki adventure by SkyFantasy! About 9 pages, shorter than "the Auction". Much like Issue 2 it was written as an audio before I realized that it played better with visuals. The side bonus is that I got the chance to define the AGF's aesthetic, not as another white and gray Human military entity, but something with more popping colors. I pay a lot of tribute to my comic influences in this one (rest assured, it's built around smut, and it spans many pages).

- A comic of Episode 3: Soddorom's Slave with an artist new to our family, but who's no stranger to manga styles. I know a lot of you want to see this story visualized in SkyFantasy's style, but once you see their style, you'll understand why it had to be them. Their artsheet for Yuki more than earned them their placement with such an important episode.

- A new Slave Girl art. Or two? The idea has sort of taken on two different lives that've become two separate characters entirely. One is part of a new race who fulfill a niche we (shockingly) haven't capitalized on all that much. But there's always new worlds to conquer (Alexander, don't weep). Her working name is Topaz and she is adorable with a story I started writing last night. We'll get to her first. The other girl is a character Satanya's been wanting to do for a while, and possibly makes use of a voice Kitten's been wanting to use for some time.

That's just stuff that was halfway in the works last month. But how have I changed? And more importantly how does it change all this? I've got stuff to share.

In my last written update, I talked about how I had pretty much marathoned these scripts now. I'm in the rotation of writing the second drafts of those things I've begun in October. Three months is kind of the magic number for revision, seeing things with a fresh set of eyes.

2023 in my eyes was a year for experimentation. Audios that varied in tone and kink. For this year, the theme in my eyes will be balance. In already having a crop of written episodes, long and short, full length, Bone Uses, and POVs, to choose from, I can stack the deck to make sure a darker episode is followed by something lighter, or a slave-themed episode sandwiching a sexy bounty hunting story, a POV for a character we haven't seen in a while sandwiching pretty Yuki-centric material, etc. In recognizing places I succeeded last year, and things I could've improved on, I march forward with revisions with these things in heart to achieve the best story, the best kink, all of it.

Something else I've gone over in the Discord a month back. I've mentioned my desire to share unproduced scripts. Unrealized episodes I've reworked beyond recognition or retired completely in favor of the 18 others we've got going, as well as previews for my writing for other things I have in the works for myself or for clients (and God knows when those will be done, so it'll be nice just to go "Hey! Get excited about something a collaborator is making this year!"). But those plans are now on hold.

While I still intend to share them, it may not be as cut and dry as I'd hoped. Because I've noticed a pattern lately, and it's made me reluctant to share plans that aren't right around the corner, even ideas that I'm not pursuing anymore. Pointing to release dates, letting constant similarities in output or writing with odd timing speaks for itself. However, it won't be as easy for me to draw a line as I have before if I'm keeping the content here, especially if they're not seeing the light of day soon or at all.

That reality check took the wind out of my sails and set back a lot of my plans for sharing raw creative materials or my long-term plans on here outside the vaguest terms.

Anyway, I try to look on the brigtht side of this. I have a lot of ideas, I'll talk about them when they're close, that way you all don't have to wait too long. Balanced expectations.
