Unofficial Project Announcement for: Sage the Farmer - "Summer of Slime"

So, I think I may have finally found a way to do consistent work while catering to my ADHD. I think what I'm going to try to do is to take advantage of the way that my brain works -- which is getting obsessed with an idea, pumping out a bunch of work for it then losing interested for an unspecified length of time.

Which I've decided to do by having a bunch of projects at once. Seems counterproductive to getting them done, but I know that my ADHD works in cycles. I'll lose interest in an idea/project for a long time, working on others and then find myself jumping back into it in the future.

I think that going with the flow on this instead of trying to force myself to consistently work on singular projects might be a better way to try to achieve consistent work flow.

Anyway, with the explanation out of the way: I've started work on a proper visual novel, featuring a new character, Sage.

This is my first attempt at doing a visual novel, so it's going to really just be a single scenario that the reader gets to play through, focusing on two main routes: a consensual route and a CNC route. The player will be going through the scenario as Sage, a transmasc farmer working on a farm located just outside of a small village. In this scenario, Sage has attempted to find a way to make his farm profitable in the face of an extreme heatwave, which has destroyed his crops.

Venturing into the forest to find rare and valuable magical ingredients, he is set upon by a swarm of slimes. You can probably guess where this is going to head :p

I've started work on programming the VN using Ren'py and hopefully, I'll have something I can properly show for it soon!

None of my other projects are on any kind of formal hiatus, they'll just get updates when I can wrap my brain around working on them again!

Been a bit since I did a proper update. Problems in my personal life, unfortunately, are on-going. My long-time, live-in partner and I have broken up and it's causing some...difficulties.

I'm not going to go in detail here because honestly, it's just a lot of personal stuff that's not anyone's business unless we're friends. Or you follow me on my tumblr, lol.

Anyway, going forward, things are going to continue to be slow. I'm hoping to do a small sale on icon commissions or chibi commissions so I can start saving up money for the trip to visit the partner I'm still dating in Texas at the beginning of August through to the end of October...

After November 7th, I'll be going on a full hiatus to recover from surgery.

I'm working gradually on a few new projects that are, hopefully, small enough that I can complete them in a reasonable amount of time.

Updates on Pre-Existing Projects:

Touch of the Infinite: I'm going to continue work on TOI, even if I'm hitting a little bit of a roadblock on where to go from the end of chapter 2. I just need to do some more plotting. The free version of chapter 2 is also now up on my Ao3, for those who want to read it.

I'm going to update TOI as completed. Revised versions of chapters available only to supporters. This will also go for illustrated chapters when those are completed.

Nocturnal Creatures: The webseries is still in progress. Hoping to get the first release for chapter one up sometime before November.

Monthly Illustrated Short Stories: As you've probably noticed, I haven't been able to keep up with this in awhile. I thought this was a reasonable goal for myself but it's turned out I have far more difficulty keeping up with this than I expected.

New Projects?

I'm also working on some ideas for some short visual novel-type projects focusing on an idea I had for a lewd stardew valley type game. I don't know how to code for shit so the Grand Plan I had for this idea won't be happening but I can at least some lewd mini-VNs from the encounter ideas I had.

I'm also hoping to eventually have a discord sever which will have supporter-only sections and I will be running this with my partner, Noxernia.

More TOI Updates:

The (rough) plan for the illustrations for chapter one is three full-color illustrations and an undecided number of monochrome illustrations. As originally planned, the rough draft of the first chapter will be released to the public on the 20th and the rough draft of chapter two will be released to my supporters on the same day.

I'm not 100% sure when the final version of chapter one will be completed but once it is, it will be made available to my supporters for no additional cost.

The final, illustrated chapters will only be available to supporters until the completed novel/novella is released for sale.

Just checking in to let y'all know I'm going to be taking a short semi-hiatus until the end of February/beginning of March.

January/February are always a shit time for my mental health and this year, I had some stuff happen in my personal life that's made my mental health kind of tank and sapped pretty much all of my creative energy. Calling it a "semi" hiatus because there's the chance I'll get an idea and draw it out or finish one of my multitude of WIPs that I have on my tablet/in my writing folder -- or I might schedule some of my backlog to be posted -- but mostly, I'm delaying/cancelling(?) February's short story. My total lack of creative energies has meant that I haven't had a single idea for the story yet, despite having a vague idea of a theme I wanted to try for (Valentine's Day!).

Since having my own personal deadlines adds to a sort of mental pressure that I'm sure isn't helping with the bullshit going on in my head, I'm kind of letting myself say "we'll work on that when we feel better". Which means there might not be a story for February. Which makes me feel like shit because I only just started this Monthly Short Story idea and I'm already skipping a month.

I will try to do a fun pin-up or something for Valentine's day and maybe make March's story extra special in some way (extra illustrations?) to make up for it.
