Development Update 12-3-22

TLDR;

      Edwin + Marie scene has nearly been completed on one version of it. This point of development story wise is where the resistance comes into play more heavily. Resulting in a stark difference on how a scene plays out. Ultimately I want to make resisting actually worth it, and thus the scenes may end up being more appealing to some. As well general attitude of the character in the scenes will diverge a fair amount. Essentially you will have a high resistance and a low to none event for each member.

     Renders for Marie's adventure outfit in earlier scenes is over halfway done for the Marie only scenes. It takes a long time to do this often just because of loading the scene each time. As well with this the Marie's dress textures are being fixed. The only issue going forward with all of this is how the very first council member scenes are structured. Which results in very long event pages, for essentially no real reason other than inexperience.

     While I could easily have sent v0.2.1 out to patrons during that billing period as promised, I have held off as I wanted to fix a few final things. With the incorporation of the time of day hud it will actually end up being v0.2.2 that you will get. That will happen some time during or after this weekend, as I will be taking another look at the questlog plugin. This has the intention of giving further guidance to players that they may not find elsewhere.

     I would like to also talk to you about future features considered for the game. For one, the combat system, which when incorporated will bring the game to v0.3. I wont talk much on that though since it's still in blocking out phase of things. With that though I wish to bring a quality of life feature where you can change your outfit from the menu. Ideally you will select the outfit the same as the wardrobe (it may even call the wardrobe event) and you'll simply change on the spot. Further I plan to have the bed in Marie's room automatically change to the last worn sleeping item rather than defaulting to the plain underwear.

     I could go on for awhile about planned features, but for now let us leave the above paragraph at that.

     I intend to revisit the "fantasy fit" outfit that was previewed some months ago to finally finish it out this month. So you may see that added in the near future to both Marie's and Alexina's ensemble.

     One last thing, some time ago I experimented with making renders of paintings where I changed the painting to some image, such as the title screen. depending on how these look in game this may become a feature for changing the title to a specified title image, rather than what was last set by progress.
