Saturday Update July 31, 2021
Hello my friends.
Work continues
Finally, back to work on my visual novel.
I do feel bad about how long this has been. My plans for updates should be less time than I spent away.
I have to admit I was obviously burned out. I was pushing myself hard to get everything out, and I can get overly focused until my brain overloads, and that is what happened here. Problem is in the past when it happened, I would almost immediately click with something else and drop wherever I was focused on.
I seem to have a laser like focus, but the problem is maintaining that focus on one item without burning out, without a distraction pulling me in another direction. I admit there is another distraction, but it is something that won’t be affecting this project.
The problem with overworking is that you seem to be able to get a lot done, but then you need more time to recover. My problem is that I know this, and yet when I start something I have so much trouble pulling myself away.
Game updates
I am less worried about the timing of this first release. Almost nobody knows about it. Doesn’t mean I don’t feel bad about how long it has taken. Over a year so far.
When it’s out I wanted to update every 3 months, so spending an entire year just on the introduction makes me worry. I know that a lot of that is setting things up, so I have my excuse. One thing I do not want are inconsistent releases. I don’t want it to take so long that people believe it’s been abandoned. Although that is part of the reason for these updates. It’s so people know that I haven’t abandoned anything.
The biggest reason I spent making these updates is to get used to it, so once it is released, I will keep these updates coming, if only out of habit.
