Animation Update - Info & Trailer

Hey peeps, apologies for silence over March. There were some delays with March's update, but it's here now in April instead (sorry!) and contains some very cool updates which I think add a ton of fun and hotness to Naughty Sandbox.

The new features in this build are a little less polished than usual, so please forgive some things if you find them to be sub-standard!


The new features are:

Animation Mode: Animations are able to be applied to the character, overriding their poses. There are a few animations to choose from for now with more to come, and animations can be sped up, reversed, paused, and set to Loopable or Play Once. When the girl is playing an animation, she can still be rotated and moved with the pose rig.

Possession Mode: This is very experimental and available in non-VR / Desktop mode only for now. This allows you to control the girl as 3rd or 1st person, similar to Skyrim / Fallout. She can currently walk around, jump, run etc in this mode, with the ability to ragdoll on command.

Pose Saving: This is exactly how it sounds, you can now save any created poses with custom save names, to reapply them later.


Possession mode is experimental and not supported in VR for now:

  • Use WASD to move around
  • Hold C to switch from 3rd to 1st person
  • X to toggle Ragdoll
  • Shift to toggle run / walk
  • 2 for Camera Aim
  • 1 for Direction Aim

There is also new input for modifying FOV during play for Desktop users: the mouse wheel will zoom in and out during any mode, as long as the mouse wheel isn't being used by anything else, such as for rotating held objects or scrolling User Inteface panels.
