April's Newsletter

Hello, everyone!

Isn't it fitting that March's newsletter never saw the light of day, but April's newsletter is here to fill the hole left behind by its predecessor?

No, actually. There is literally no thread of logic in that statement. It is but a silly one-liner I threw together for no reason. In fact, it might not even be a one-liner. Yet another bit of tomfoolery.

Such is the spirit of April. In that same spirit, let us walk down this month's newsletter with our very real and material feet.

Ha ha! Yet another great bit of tomfoolery by Mr. Usurpman! Spirits do not have feet!

A Memefied Summary Of March

If You Missed It: The Merchant Of Degeneracy Tier Is Dead

If you did not see my previous post talking about this, here is a TL;DR: with Prompt Polls on hold, the Merchant of Degeneracy tier no longer confers any unique perks to justify its higher cost. Thus, I've violently executed it. If you are on the Merchant tier, you should probably downgrade your subscription. There is absolutely no benefit to staying on it, other than gratuitously giving me more money.

But isn't that the greatest benefit of all?!

Where Is The Character Popularity Poll?

I was waiting until Stacy's Got The Wheel got wrapped up. It now is, thus this poll will be posted in the upcoming days. My apologies for making you wait, and thank you for your understanding.

As always, I am excited to see the results.

First-Ever Six Pool Poll

With Stacy's Got The Wheel violently slain, we have an empty slot in the Six Pool. Considering the current selection of series and the genre of this slain soul, it makes sense to replace it with another BBC-focused story.

Alas, this shall be decided through a Fighter-exclusive poll. As for the options, I originally intended to make it between OC-only stories since Stacy's Got The Wheel was an OC story, but I've realized the Six Pool is balanced enough in terms of OC/fandom that it's fine to go either way. So, it'll be a pick between all BBC options in the reserve pool.

More specifically:
  • Adding A BBC To The Family
  • House Of Temptations
  • Secret Bond

Final Fantasy VII NTRemake won't be included because I still haven't finished Rebirth to be able to write the NTRemade version. Sorry, fellas.

What I haven't decided yet is if I'll make it a one-vote-per-person poll, or a multiple-votes-allowed poll. Feel free to convince me either way in the comments bellow.

I shall leave it up to Future Me. I love screwing that guy.

Where Is Your Commissions Reopen Post?

Fellas, in very simple terms, I looked at how much work I had to do between Stacy's Got The Wheel and Fertility Festival Of Hera and sorta just kept delaying the comms reopen post until I felt like I was 'safe enough'. Even then, I still didn't get the Stacy finale out nearly as early as I planned, but this isn't all to do with how big of a word count I had to get through.

I've become slower with my story release rhythm, and it shows in my clogged backlog. However, it isn't because I'm writing slower. What happened is that I've become slow at revising/editing. I don't quite know how this happened, but I've become excessively careful with checking grammar and refining lines, to the point of constant double-checks and triple-checks. This 'meticulousness' has greatly bottlenecked my work rhythm, which results in me getting stuff out slower than I used to.

The solution to this is simply to 'unlearn it' and go back to being a little less careful but a lot more efficient/agile in the revising/editing part of it all. It's a weird thing to consciously practice, but it's what I've essentially adopted toward the end of March, and it made a gargantuan difference in accelerating my workflow. Otherwise, I still wouldn't have the finale out.

I suppose this is my homework for the near future. As for when commissions will reopen, I expect to do it this month. I know I said this last month, but things are feeling a lot more in order for me now, so I think it'll probably be fine.

__________________________________________

With that, this newsletter is concluded. Things were more compact this time around. Isn't that nice?

Look forward to the next drafts of Fertility Festival Of Hera. Also, the second side-story (the Like A Lamb To The Sexual Slaughter one) is getting started too. If you had any ideas for this one and you did not mention it before, now is your chance to drop them. I don't remember whose prompt it was, so to whoever the prompter is: feel free to DM me any ideas you might have had too, if you haven't already.

Let it be known that the next Fertility Festival Of Hera draft is already very deep in the works. I know I always say this, but it's simply true: I'm having a lot of fun with it. Expect weirdness.

I shall now delve into the shadows to make April a renaissance of Usurpman degeneracy. As always, thank you all for your continued support.
