[News] Crowd System for the Ritual Scene


Hello everyone!
I'm still working on the cutscene, and I wanted Kalyskah to deliver her speech to an audience. So I decided to build a new system before I finished the cutscene to give it the weight I wanted.
With that in mind, we did this system for crowds that, once we make the character's material simpler, will allow us to have dozens of characters on screen for these types of situations where Kalyskah have an audience or other situations where we want to quickly populate an area with multiple people moving around and performing some simple interactions.
This uses Unreal's Animation Sharing Plugin, which is pretty much the standard way the engine optimises itself for this specific situation!
For now, I'll test it mostly for cutscenes, but later I do wonder if we can expand to include situations such as Brooke's training area at the temple, perhaps Nemesis' Garden of Delights for the dancers, and add some general crowd sitting around and living there. We can place them in a very chaotic way, but also set them in formations, which will definitely be very handy!


The patch will be coming out next week as I wrap up this cutscene. It's one of the most complex ones we had so far, despite not being very long. It will require fancy things that I won't spoil for you.
