Yet ANOTHER Life Update:
(Temporarily?) Back Home Again <u>
Hello again!
Its been almost a week, right? And I thankfully have good news!
I'm back home!
Seemingly for the long term, but- y'know- knock on wood, and all...
The short version is that the home situation has been temporarily resolved, and I've been able to return safely.
It is still technically up in the air if it will remain that way, but for this very moment I am able to go back to my normal routines, albeit more than a little shaken up.
So yee! Going to try and push myself to get back into the writing, and perhaps streaming, and all that good stuff. And hope that this temporary security becomes more long-lasting >u>
There is the chance things go bad again. It is not certain, and there are things that could change for the worse... But.... I cant let that keep me stagnant, I suppose!
As for the longer, and potentially upsetting, version:
(If domestic abuse or such things are a triggering topic for you, please don't read below)
So. After the first couple days of struggling and panic and getting stable, we were able to head down to the courthouse to get the ball rolling on giving us safety from my father.
To my surprise, as someone who knows very little about these things, we were quckly able to get a temporary protective order that kept my mother separate from him.
That involves him not being able to contact her, being forced to be a distance away from her and her place of work, and (crucially in the context of this post) being kept away from our house.
I do not have an order of my own, but the bit about the house thankfully means that I myself am safe so long as I'm here or with her <u>.
So I'm finally able to have my bed again, after jumping between hotels and feeling like im burdening other family. And as a bonus: I also have my computer, my recording equipment, I'm able to write more easily- all the good stuff. <u>
The bit that still makes everything up in the air, though, is that this is a temporary order, while we wait and prepare for an actual hearing with a judge and all sorts- who will decide if the order is kept up or changed.
So... There is the chance that the judge rules in favor of my father, and the order is removed- forcing us to flee again.
There is also the chance that the order (and/or the impending divorce process that has been started) could involve the house itself being in dispute in some way. Who knows if we may be forced to sell the place, for example. I don't know- all of this is very new to me...
... And there is also the chance that all of it goes through- we are perfectly legally safe to stay here and be protected in our home... but are unable to pay the bills with one less person working.
That, depressingly, is also possible- and would mean we're back to the drawing board in terms of long-term housing.
So, with all of that in mind, I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much. I'm trying not to promise things are going to be 100% back to normal in the long term.
But for this moment, I'm back. I'm safe. And I'm happy. The sort of cautious happy where you're trying to enjoy it for as much as you can, while still being wary for if the other shoe will drop.
We'll see. I'll hope as much as I possibly can that things are looking up, and the clouds are truly parting.
But for now?
For now I'm just so damn glad to be home... <u>

I hope you are ok
I am!
Things have been pretty stressful, admittedly. A lot of court dates and general issues .
but I'm still safe, which is the important thing!
... Now if only I could manage to get a decent amount of work done without so many problems >u>
