We’re excited to bring you version 0.28.0, the first part of Kalyskah’s Prologue, now fully integrated with Unreal Engine 5! It’s been months of hard work, and while some areas still need fine-tuning, seeing the new cutscenes and environments come together in this engine has been incredibly rewarding.
What’s New
You’ll now have the option to start a new game either in the Fallen Temple or from the Prologue.
A new quest will trigger when you take the road outside Kalyskah’s temple.
All cutscenes and lighting setups have been reviewed and improved.
In the Fallen Temple path, the goblin companion now behaves more consistently after unlocking the hovering ability, helping Kalyskah travel between the mines and the upper levels.
We fixed the issue that was preventing you from customising Kalyskah.
Settings Overhaul (Partial)
We’ve begun migrating game settings from the old system-save structure to proper .ini files. While Audio Settings and a few UI elements are still under construction, this transition means:
No more persistent bugs with settings not saving.
A more reliable and scalable configuration system moving forward.
Important: To avoid compatibility issues with old settings, we recommend doing the following: ➤ Press Windows + R, paste %localappdata%\Kalyskah, and clear that folder before launching the game.
Technical Notes
The changes to our base code are extensive—so much so that listing them all here would be too much. Instead, our programmer has prepared a document summarising the technical overhaul. I’ll format it properly and share it with you later this week, so you can see what’s been rebuilt behind the scenes.
Next Steps
Some quests—like “By the Bushes” and “Pesky Pirates”—aren’t available in this patch yet. They’ll be added soon, fully voiced, once our actors wrap up their recordings.
We plan to release smaller patches based on your feedback, and we’re aiming to push version 0.28 to a more polished state by the 25th~28th.
After this, next month forward we'll be back on schedule of introducing new quests monthly!
I've added a few preview images of Kalyskah in Unreal 5... But then realised I was recording my game in a lower resolution. So one more reason for you to download the demo and check it out for yourself!
