Hello everyone!
For those who have already tried our demo, you might have noticed that we still have a long way to go to get the game in the shape we want in terms of optimization and content. But this demo brings you new content and will give you all a taste of what's coming next in terms of Dungeons for the game.
We planned to make this dungeon bigger, as previous videos we made were showing, but had to trim it down in order to get it done in time. This patch also has general fixes in the follower behaviour and more!

Version 0.26.0 Changelog

Fixes
  • Fixed issues with Bronwyn’s lip-sync animations.
  • Fixed Merishya's behaviour where she would fall forever under the map.
  • Adjusted Karnstein's vampiric leather armour to prevent visual clipping with her chest.
  • Fixed quests not properly updating in the sidebar
  • Fixed quests not being properly loaded if you didn't finish them in a single run.
  • Fixed icons for data such as health, blood points, etc, not displaying correctly in the attribute menu

Enhancements
  • Better way of synchronising followers' state machine, so they can exit dialogue behaviours together with Kalyskah, which should prevent glitches.
  • Updated dialogue camera logic for smoother focus transitions on speakers.
  • Updated armour sets in Nemesis' Garden and relocated the succubus outfit chest to the new dungeon.
  • Added voice to the Troll when he takes damage, attacks and so on.

  • Granted "Shadow Dash" ability after Kalyskah defeats Gremmnoch. If you already defeated him, it will be given to you when you load the game.
  • Added a New dungeon with additional loot, cutscenes and a showcase of some new enemies, armours and systems, such as sunlight damage. You can enter the new dungeon by taking to a goblin that you can find after defeating Gremmnoch:


    The dungeon also contains a "new" Halloween outfit, can you find all the pieces? ps. The Halloween set was supposed to show up just on this patch, but we were veeeeery smart and forgot to remove the chest from the test area in Nemesis' garden. So Pretend you've never seen it!
  • Assigned "Dark Ascending Power" to Kalyskah upon completing the New Dungeon. This will allow you to hover!


Known Issues
  • Some minor animation glitches will occur in the new dungeon and will be addressed in a future patch. Along with improvements to the body language of the goblins and stability during transitions between checkpoints.




Difference between Steam and Patreon version:
The version released on Steam is a preview of the game without the Erotic Content Free DLC, meaning the sexual content is toned down. However, the version we will release on Itch after the Screamfest will be the uncut version. Once we reach Early Access, the erotic content on Steam will be available as a separate download through the DLC. We will release a new demo on Itch by the end of this month that will have the erotic content available to the public.
As always, the Patreon version includes the full content.

[Public STEAM Release] Version 0.25.9

Hello everyone!
We’re thrilled to share the first demo of our game here on Steam!
The road so far has been filled with challenges. The idea of creating a game like Kalyskah has been in our hearts for a long time and what you see now is just a small glimpse of what we envision for the future.
There’s much more to come, including an open world to explore and a variety of immersive systems that will let you experience life as a creature of the night, hiding your true nature from human society.
This demo offers a brief look at Kalyskah’s journey, covering some of the events between the opening and the first arc of the story. It should provide around 30 minutes of gameplay, followed by a short group of dialogues with some of the characters you'll encounter in the full game.
Early next week, we plan to release another dungeon, featuring more platforming for you to explore.
Since switching from Unreal 4 to Unreal 5, we’ve had to patch many systems and haven’t yet had the time to rework most of them. So, everything you see here is still subject to improvement, especially the combat and animations!

[Vampire+ Release] Version 0.25.6


Hello everyone!


We'll be releasing a public demo this week. Until then, our patrons have access to... let's say... 99% of what will be included in the next update in terms of the content of the Fallen Temple. There are a few fixes we'll need to make here and there, especially with the animations. But in general, aside from adding the intro cutscene and another scene with Michael that is currently missing, the core of the dungeon content is mostly complete. We won't be making further changes or finishing the remaining cutscenes until the next dungeon and the prologue are ready.


In the future, Brooke's boss fight will be reworked to include her ability to shape-shift into animals such as a bear and a wolf. However, this will only be done once we finish programming the same system for Kalyskah herself, so probably only after Thulgatha is back.


I hope you enjoy what we have so far!


P.S. Some of the quirks you'll notice in the animations will be resolved once we are fully finished with refactoring our old animation system.

Known Issues

  • Undead are not displaying their custom poses on this patch, which will be solved during the week as it requires further tweaking of the new animation blueprint.
  • Alvina's cutscene is a bit clumsy, we'll improve it this week.

[Vampire+ Release] Version 0.25.7

We have a new release today and it's a pretty compact one because most of the work we've been doing for new content so far has either been outside the engine or requires further testing and polishing before we can bring it to you, as we've been showing it during the past weeks.
So without further ado, here's the changelog:
Kalyskah Version 0.25.7
Fixes

  • Fixed the issue that caused game settings not to be saved. This was a massive task because we had to rewrite the whole code on how our graphics settings work. We haven't tested with machines that have many different resolutions yet so please let us know if there are still things to iron out.
  • Fixed the issue that was disabling skills
  • Fixed how skills are assigned after you purchase them
  • Fixed crash while trying to open the Character Maker
  • Fixed Kalyskah not resetting her behaviour after ending dialogue with bandits (although I think you didn't get to see this issue because the bandits don't trigger an approach dialogue in the Garden of Delights)
  • Fixed quests in the Garden of Delights being added repeatedly
  • Fixed gradient at the bottom of the screen not showing when there were subtitles to be seen (that was making the readability harder than it was ever supposed to be)
Enhancements
  • General enhancements flow improvements in the flow of pause menus, preventing it from triggering when it shouldn't.
  • Reduced the damage of projectiles so they are not as deadly as they were before
  • Improved the VFX of the bloodshot spell
  • Refactoring some behaviours inside Kalyskah's blueprint
  • Tweaks on Michael's cutscene
  • Tweaked the events in the dialogue with Heather, the options that can make Kalyskah nasty to her will now reduce her compassion. Also, the whole conversation about Heather forgetting how to breathe only triggers the first time you talk to her.
Features
  • First pass on implementing Henrysson's dialogue at the Garden of Delights into the game. We are still fixing the triggers and animations.

Today's patch doesn't add quests, but it adds new dialogues. There's more to come within the next few weeks but these are the ones we managed to get done for now. We moved the game from Unreal 5.3 to Unreal 5.4, so there might be things working a bit differently than before that we didn't have a chance to test thoroughly yet, so let us know if you notice that anything that was working in 0.25.5 stopped working in 0.25.6.

Hello everyone, Corintio here!
We are very proud to bring you this demo today. It is the beginning of a whole new page in our project and here is why:
  • EDIT: After we updated the demo we noticed a list of issues passed through our QA. We are working on addressing the more urgent issues and we'll release a new patch on the weekend. About the crash people are experiencing, we are collecting logs and on Monday we will debug and find a way to fix it.
  •  This is our first proper release in Unreal 5, and now that we unlocked this door, you can expect several new updates in the following weeks as we press forward to try and get the game in the best possible shape so on the last week of this month, we can release an SFW demo on steam.
  • Optimization is the type of job that we'll be always doing in the background, and you can expect more improvements in the future as we collect feedback and rework more of the base code, but this patch marks a major milestone towards that goal. Notice that now we have things such as Raytracing and Lumen, so at the same time that the game will run better if you lower your graphic settings, there are options now that can bring the visuals even further than before, and that video cards incompatible with the raytracing technology might struggle. So make sure to take a look at the game settings and tailor the game to what your machine can run.
  • We made many improvements to the quality of life. The vampiric vision has never looked as good (although we are still going to bring back the outline of enemies and chests). The loot scattered across the dungeon will now be more varied since we added different layers for the Karnstein Legion armour and as time goes on, we'll be working on new cutscenes between Kalyskah and her former soldiers. So the storytelling, once this is put together with the prologue, might break your heart as much as it's breaking Kalyskah's. These cutscenes and details will be added during the coming weeks and be worked in parallel with the content of the prologue.
And again, now that this veil has finally been removed, we can start to patch more often as we add characters to the Garden of Earthly Delights until the open world is ready to be playable again.

Fixes from what Unreal 5 broke and that you might have seen in version 0.25.0
  • Fixed photo mode not working;
  • Fixed Hints on the UI to show the proper keys for game commands;
  • Fixed NPC clothes not properly setting their custom colours;
  • Fixed targeting enemies not working;
  • Fixed Dialogue options not showing during cutscenes;
  • Fixed Controller inputs for both the UI and gameplay;
  • Fixed evasion not working;
  • Fixed Kalyskah taking fall damage. She's a vampire, she doesn't care about gravity;
  • Fixed mist form input not working;
  • Fixed Skill tree lines and tooltip;
  • Fixed navigation tabs in Menu Settings;
  • Fixes camera not changing when aiming with a bow;
  • Fixed many shortcuts;
  • Fixes outlines not appearing when using vampiric vision;
  • Fixed interaction with chests;
  • Fixed missing tags in the items tooltips;
  • Fixed Attributes UI;
Fixes
  • Optimized the size of some toysystem animations;
  • General optimizations on many materials from the level;
  • General optimizations on the Inventory;
  • Improvements in UI Performance;
  • Fixed Catherine's bra clipping through small breasts, but for now, Kalyskah can't wear this set yet;
  • Fixed game options not being properly saved. This was an issue that we've had for A LONG time, now we can finally say that your settings will be stored when you quit the game!
  • Fixed dark spots under the arms of some female skins;
  • Glasses will no longer cast shadows on character faces;
  • Fixed game not saving your changes on the input (French players have specially asked us for this because of their keyboard that isn't WASD);
  • Fixed Kalyskah's mouth not disappearing when she entered mist form;
  • Fixed TONS of situations where the game would crash;
  • Reduced CPU usage for NPC;
  • Fixed stun animation that caused male characters to flip 90 degrees;
  • Fixed Typo on the Prisoner armour set;
  • Prevented other input actions while resting in a coffin;
  • Reduced Emissive from blood buff;

Enhancements
  • Reworked Nemesis's introduction cutscene and also how she appears in the game for the first time;
  • Changed main menu to nighttime by default, this is just a slight hint on what we'll do next to improve it;
  • Kalyskah's ruined temple has been completely revamped;
  • Improved Nemesis goofy animations;
  • Improved materials on the sewers;
  • Improved Merishya's eyebrows and made a general glow-up on her character;
  • Improved usability of graphic settings and made a way to toggle raytracing On and Off;
  • Improved Claw combat animations, Kalyskah will attack with more elegance instead of being as feral as the lesser vampires. It's not 100% done yet;
  • Improved movement on tails (Both for Merishya and Nemesis and also for the devil costume);
  • The night vision was completely overhauled and now will be much more helpful to allow you to see dark places;
  • Improved "waterfalls" on the sewers;
  • Created a new method for when we want an NPC to have a custom idle. For now, you will only notice the undead standing and walking differently than kalyskah. In the future, we'll add custom idles for every important NPC, to show off their personality more;
  • Improved the eyes of the undead, and also their skins;
  • Female undead will have a more high-pitched voice;
  • Undeads will be complaining and saying dialogue lines when they are idle;
  • Removed the IK on Kalyskah's feet. This was causing several glitches when she climbed stairs;
  • Input keys are not sorted alphabetically in the settings menu;
  • Reduced Kalyskah's initial health from 400 to 49 to make the game more challenging. This makes feeding and managing the blood buff more important;
  • Increased the time it takes for Kalyskah to start recovering her stamina after attacking from 0.01 to 1 second;
  • Reduced the threshold for Kalysakh to be visibly thirsty, also reduced her max blood points at the start so she doesn't have any blood shards (those she will get during the story)
  • Kalyskah will start with only 30 blood points, so players need to actually try to sneak behind enemies to drink their blood in the early game so they can recover.
  • Added tooltips to every option in the game settings
  • Kalyskah will equip her weapons when enemies start to target her and unequip when they stop doing so
  • Male undead won't always have black hair
  • Improved Move and Zoom of the skill tree, increased interaction area
  • If Kalyskah doesn't have a weapon equipped and you try to attack, instead of glitching the weapon in her hand as she plays the attack animation, she will properly equip them;
  • Reduced the size of some UI elements to not go over 4096px;
  • Reduced the size of some general textures;
  • Fixed performance in several particle effects;
  • Improved the looks of the torch;

  • New fringe hairstyle;
  • Improved Kalyskah's default hairstyle to match the quality of our newest ones;

  • Two whole new areas: The Garden of Earthly Delights and the Garden of Blood. We haven't added the content for the Garden of Delights yet, but you can play in the area and defeat some waves of enemies. Later on, we'll be balancing and better distributing them;
