Hello everyone!
First off, i would like to apologize for the delay of the release of the 0.1.2 Update. Lots of unexpected issues happened with the restraints and models, i still need a little bit of time to fix those before releasing a stable version of the game.
In this devlog, i will talk about what i'm going to do for the 0.1.3 Update.
Restraints
First off, i would like to apologize for the delay of the release of the 0.1.2 Update. Lots of unexpected issues happened with the restraints and models, i still need a little bit of time to fix those before releasing a stable version of the game.
In this devlog, i will talk about what i'm going to do for the 0.1.3 Update.
Restraints
- Ability to lock... lockable restraints!
So in the last two devlogs, i talked about the leather straps and the ability to lock them.
That's exactly what i'm going to do in this update! Give you the ability to lock leather straps and other lockable restraints. To lock them you will need a Lock and a Lock key. You will be able to buy / find these in the game.
Stealth
- Add the ability to crawl into vents or tight spaces.
The idea of this feature is to have tight spaces that your character crawl into. These tight spaces can give you another way to get around an obstacle or avoid unwanted people, just like in real life! Ahem.
- Add the ability to struggle when getting grabbed and fight before getting tied up.
What? You think you were the only one able to do that? Nah uh! When your character is caught, she will be grabbed first instead of being tied up instantly.
That means that you will be able to struggle like a real damsel in distress!
- Improve the throwing mechanic.
Ah yes, the currently-useless-but-not-finished rock thingy! Well, i will try to fix it's detection and add other items you can throw.
AI
- Add the ability to help friendly characters.
That's right! Finally some interactions between NPCs! No more characters ignoring their tied up friends!
Of course, the first implementation of this won't be as advanced as i want it to be but it will make the game feel more alive and harder... Okay maybe not harder now since there's only two characters and they are pretty dumb. :P
- Improve the character visual detection.
- Improve the investigation of patrolling character when they lose sight of the their target, in this case the player.
- Fix avoidance with other NPCs.
Right now the AI feel lazy, selfish and dumb. Which is kind of funny but not fun to play with in my opinion, it needs a serious upgrade.
These three tasks are the start of a bigger talk to make the AI seem more realistic and intelligent, crazy i know!
Level
- Replace placeholder textures with my own textures.
You may have noticed that the textures of the ground, walls and objects doesn't really match the style of the character and can feel out of place. That's because i'm using CC0 (Public domain) textures as placeholders. I will take some time to make my own textures to fit the style i would like to achieve in the game.
That is all for this week! :)
