2023 - November - News Post
I've done more experimentation with small AI touchups, and have found some useful ways to use it for some things like character faces in pinups where it is not worth spending too much time to create unique characters. I've found that because the CG version is pretty close to the AI version, I can carefully paint out anything I don't like in the AI version and the rest of the image will match closely enough. This way I can keep the facial expressions and details like teeth that the AI doesn't handle well but still get subtle facial improvements. I still haven't decided how this would translate to a larger comic, but for pinups it has been a noticeable quality improvement. You can see some examples from this month's upcoming pinups below.
Unfortunately I haven't finished the GP comic yet like I wanted, so I will need to push off starting on KSB5 until December most likely. Before I start on it, I'll also need to do some work on Kayla's character model to see if where I can improve it with the AI reference. I'll post more details when I start making progress on that.
Since the SubscribeStar following has gained a lot of traction, I'm considering removing the news section of the ArtofHawke website at the end of the year so I don't have to keep updating in 2 places. The site still has a lot of value as a directory of where to find all my content, so I'll need to think about how much of a redesign is needed. It's also been a little annoying because SubscribeStar easily handles the full resolution images, while the wordpress backend of the website limits images to 1800, so I often need to generate multiple versions of pinups.
Sneak peak of the action in this month's installment of Group Project, and keep an eye out for another free pinup later today.
