2023 - News - October Update
It's looking like the Group Project comic will probably stretch to 35 pages in length as I make small changes here and there to story during creation. This month's update has a black light scene which I thought was an interesting look to create. I originally considered having the black light look last for a significant section of the comic, but remembered that when Fernando did it in Tourist Trap, I thought it was interesting but not particularly sexy, so I ended up only doing it for one page to reinforce the story.
I reached out to and had some interesting conversations with some AI artists to learn some of the pros and cons of how they work. Based on those conversations, I don't think AI generation will be particularly applicable to my work in its current state, beyond the occasional usage for backgrounds. My conclusion after those conversations is that while AI is quick to create something generic and high quality, it is incredibly time consuming to create something super specific or repeatable. So while it can create a generic hot naked girl really easily, if you ask it to have the hot naked girl pick up a pair of scissors and cut the ropes off another bound girl, that's way too complex of prompt for it to create easily. At the current time, it doesn't seem particularly useful for creating something like a comic with hundreds of panels with the same characters and environments and with characters doing specific actions in each frame. It will be interesting to see if those limitations can be overcome as the tech continues to advance. I did think it was interesting that some of the best AI results come from photoshopping the results of various prompts together to remove or improve problem areas.

How is the development of new fansadox comics going? Any chance for KSB5 or BMT2 before year ends?
I will probably start on KSB5 when GP1 is completed, but I'm trying to avoid having two comics in production at once. So I might start on it November, but definitely won't be out this year.
Thank you for sharing the update. It's wonderful to hear that you've explored the area. The use of AI in comic creation might indeed become a significant trend in the future. Incorporating this method into your skill set could greatly enhance your productivity. Wishing you the best as you continue to innovate!
