Read Receipts: the big remaster is out (free: Chapters 1-3)

What's new in the free build (Chapters 1-3):

Every line rewritten. Every route, every chat. Mia sounds like Mia, Jade sounds like Jade, and your choices actually come back later.
New art from start to finish. One consistent look for her in every picture, no more "who is that?" frames.
Every kiss is on screen.
A new opening. A cold open you'll want to understand, a cleaner setup screen and a brand new main menu.
American setting. Long distance means 250 miles, a couch, and her mom texting at the worst moment.
A better gallery. Replay any version of a scene you've played (route, outfit, choices), plus a Rewards tab.
Chapter Select now lets you set every choice that shapes your route.

Saves from the old version won't continue cleanly, because the chapters were rewritten. Start a new game, or use Chapter Select to jump back in with your choices.

It's Season 1, chapter by chapter, with new chapters every two weeks. Chapters 4-7 and the Halloween special are already out for supporters.

A quick note: this update has hundreds of new pictures, and every one was rendered and then edited by hand, so a few bugs may have slipped through. If anything looks off (a picture, a line, a choice that doesn't carry over), please tell me. I read every report and fix what you find.

The rewrite is done: what Read Receipts is now

The rewrite I promised here in October is finished and out as version 1.1.0. Every chapter was rewritten from the first line, using what you told me in reviews and comments, so this post is the short version of what the game is now.

You proposed to your shy, nerdy fiancée the night before you moved 250 miles away for an internship. Now your relationship lives on your phone: her texts, her stream, her social posts, and the friends who keep "upgrading" her while you're gone. Read every message, choose how you reply, and watch her change one chapter at a time. Share her, lose her, or keep her.

NTR is 100% optional. Sharing, Cheating and Faithful are separate routes that never bleed into each other, and on the Faithful route there are no other men at all. Your route takes shape over the first four chapters and locks in at the end of Chapter 4, and you'll feel which way it's going well before that.

What the rewrite changed

How you play counts from Chapter 1. Jealous, open or faithful, the MC's thoughts and her reactions follow your choices, and nobody gets pushed toward sharing.
The Cheating route runs on clues, not confessions: a deleted message, a "Read" with no reply, a photo that turns up in someone else's story. You can dig, ask the hard question or let it go, and how suspicious you've been changes how careful she is.
The Sharing route keeps its rules and its partnership, rewritten with the same care.
Everyone sounds like themselves now, from her and Jade to Marcus and the MC.
New art for every chapter, and real sound in the intimate scenes, with a gallery and scene replays.
Choice hints show what each reply changes, and you can switch them off in Settings if you'd rather play blind.

What's out

Supporters on the Read ✓✓ tier and up have Chapters 1-7 and the Halloween special. The free build has Chapters 1-3, on itch.io and F95, and you can play it right in your browser on the itch.io page. Chapter 8 is next, and new chapters come out about every one to two weeks, here first.

Tiers

Read ✓✓ ($15): every chapter the day it's ready, PC / Mac / Android builds, the gallery and bonus-scene codes, story polls, and your name in the credits
Typing… ($30): everything above, plus the full-size picture pack for every chapter, work-in-progress art and a vote on the next bonus scene
Her Passcode ($60, 25 spots): everything above, plus 3 custom renders a month and your idea considered for a bonus scene

This is still Season 1, and Season 2 is already being planned. Thank you for telling me what didn't work back then. I still read every comment, so keep telling me.

Hey everyone! First of all, I want to tell you how grateful I am that so many of you have shown your support this quickly. This is my first ever game, and on release day we already have 9 paid members plus countless others who have joined the community. I really do appreciate it.

For those of you who have played the free chapters, and paid members who've played Chapters 1-6 + the Halloween special: I'd love your feedback, thoughts, bugs, suggestions, literally anything, so I can make the game as enjoyable as possible for you. I've already read every review and comment on F95, and they're shaping what comes next.

*Already fixed since launch (in the updated download — grab it again from the post / mirrors)*

- Art fixes: stray choker charms and pendants removed, Marcus fixed in a few Halloween pictures, a logo removed

- The Chapters menu now starts the right chapters

- Trophies and the gallery's ending counter now work properly

- Smaller, cleaner downloads

*Coming in the next updates*

- *Route choice indicators:* choices that lock you into a route, or lean you heavily toward one, will be clearly marked, and you'll see which route you're on

- *A reworked cheating (NTR) route:* much more suspense and thrill. You'll piece together what's happening from clues on her phone — deleted messages, read receipts with no reply, places that don't match her story — and the MC will have real emotions about it: jealousy, doubt, anger

- *NTR and sharing (NTS) kept apart:* they overlap too much right now. If you lean jealous, the MC and the story will treat you that way, and the sharing / cuckold teasing stays on the sharing paths

- *Choices with more impact:* more scenes that only happen on your route (the faithful route too), not just different reactions

- *A smoother phone:* smaller notifications that don't cover the screen, time to browse Glimpse, the forum and her phone between conversations, a "tap to continue" hint in scenes, and visible checkpoints + quick save

- *An art quality pass:* every hand and face in the released chapters gets checked and fixed

*Next drop: Chapter 7 for the $10+ tier aimed for Saturday 24 October*.
