FP 0.1 - IMPORTANT NEWS - Progress Report #2

Hello everybody! This time the progress report includes relevant news for the players, so we decided to make it public.

Changes in short-term goals

As you know, we designed Fiction Paradox to offer 4 romantic routes: male-female, female-male, male-male and female-female. Same story, different characters. That way, anyone can enjoy the story!

While this remains our vision for the long-run, we've made the decision to focus only on the male-female and female-female routes. That means: the main character can be a straight man or a lesbian woman, but all the romanceable characters will always be women (for now).

We are a small team of two people working on our spare time, and as you could see in the game's demo, we are very capable! We are committed to this project. But since we don't have much time and resources, we prefer to focus on less routes in order to offer a good quality game in a reasonable time.

The other reason for this change is that both of us (Dakno and Eón) feel attracted to women. That means, in order to do a good job with men, we have to constantly research and ask people for feedback. That slows our development, and we are also afraid we won't do as good job as we do with women.

In order to preserve the game's quality for the other routes, we think it's better to wait until we have more people and resources on Naventu's team. In the future, we will be happy to hire an aditional member to work on the female-male and male-male paths (or even bisexual path, as some of you already requested).

We really tried to maintain our ambition and start with 4 routes right away, but in the short-term this will be better for the project's success. If you were one of the players excited for these alternative routes, we're really sorry. But we plan do it in the future, so don't worry! :D

Fortunately, our game is well designed and organized. Adding the extra routes is much more easier than doing them from scratch! Most of the work will already be done, both on writing/code and art. :)

Changes in characters

We were not happy with some aspects of Diana and Lu. These were our first characters, so after improving our skills in both modeling and rendering, we decided to apply some changes to them. Now they fit the plot better, and are even more attractive! >:)

Development and future release

We're so happy to see that more than 200 people already downloaded our game's demo on Itch! Thank you so much for your comments, both public and private, and the positive feedback! <3

The Fiction Paradox 0.1 release is on track to be launched before the end of 2025. It will include 3 chapters, but if development takes longer than planned, we may release it with just 2 chapters in order to ensure quality. In any case, we'll keep you informed!

The new dialogues, renders and music are in the making. We'll show you the third female character in a few weeks, and even a few sneak peaks of the first chapter (only for patrons ;3).

¡Hola a todos! Esta vez el informe de progreso incluye noticias relevantes para los jugadores, así que hemos decidido hacerlo público.

Cambios en los objetivos a corto plazo

Como sabéis, hemos diseñado Fiction Paradox para ofrecer 4 rutas románticas: hombre-mujer, mujer-hombre, hombre-hombre y mujer-mujer. Misma historia, distintos personajes. Así, ¡cualquiera puede disfrutar de la historia!

Aunque esta sigue siendo nuestra visión a largo plazo, hemos tomado la decisión de centrarnos únicamente en las rutas hombre-mujer y mujer-mujer. Es decir: el protagonista puede ser un hombre heterosexual o una mujer lesbiana, pero todos los personajes románticos serán siempre mujeres (por ahora).

Somos un pequeño equipo de dos personas trabajando en nuestro tiempo libre, y como pudisteis ver en la demo del juego, ¡somos muy capaces! Estamos comprometidos con este proyecto. Pero como no tenemos mucho tiempo y recursos, preferimos centrarnos en menos rutas para poder ofrecer un juego de calidad en un tiempo razonable.

La otra razón de este cambio es que ambos de nosotros (Dakno y Eón) nos sentimos atraídos por mujeres. Eso significa que, para hacer un buen trabajo con los hombres, tenemos que investigar constantemente y pedir opiniones a la gente. Eso ralentiza nuestro desarrollo, y también tenemos miedo de no hacer un trabajo tan bueno como con las mujeres.

Para preservar la calidad del juego para las otras rutas, creemos que es mejor esperar hasta que tengamos más gente y recursos en el equipo de Naventu. En el futuro, estaremos encantados de contratar a un miembro adicional para trabajar en las rutas mujer-hombre y hombre-hombre (o incluso en la ruta bisexual, como algunos de vosotros ya habéis solicitado).

Realmente intentamos mantener nuestra ambición y empezar con 4 rutas desde el principio, pero a corto plazo esto es lo mejor para el éxito del proyecto. Si eras uno de los jugadores entusiasmados con estas rutas alternativas, lo sentimos mucho. Pero tenemos previsto hacerlo en el futuro, ¡así que no te preocupes! :D

Afortunadamente, nuestro juego está bien diseñado y organizado. Añadir las rutas adicionales es mucho más fácil que hacerlas desde cero. La mayor parte del trabajo ya estará hecho, tanto en guión/código como en arte. :)

Cambios en los personajes

No estábamos contentos con algunos aspectos de Diana y Lu. Eran nuestros primeros personajes, así que después de mejorar nuestras habilidades tanto en modelado como en renderizado, decidimos aplicarles algunos cambios. Ahora encajan mejor en el guión, ¡y son incluso más atractivas! >:)

Desarrollo y futura versión

¡Estamos muy contentos de ver que más de 200 personas ya han descargado la demo de nuestro juego en Itch! ¡Muchas gracias por vuestros comentarios, tanto públicos como privados, y por el feedback positivo! <3

La versión 0.1 de Fiction Paradox está previsto lanzarse antes de que termine 2025. Incluirá 3 capítulos, pero si el desarrollo se prolonga más de lo previsto, es posible que la lancemos con solo 2 capítulos para garantizar la calidad. En cualquier caso, ¡os mantendremos informados!

Los nuevos diálogos, renders y música están en curso. En unas semanas os mostraremos el tercer personaje femenino, e incluso algunos adelantos del primer capítulo (solo para suscriptores ;3).

Our first game: Fiction Paradox

Hello everyone, and welcome to our SubscribeStar Adult page! We are Dakno and Eón, and together we form Naventu's team. In this first post, we would like to introduce you to Fiction Paradox: a unique adult video game that we've been working on with great care for months. ^

Fiction Paradox is an adult visual novel (AVN) playable on platforms such as Windows, Mac, Linux or Android. In this game, you'll have the opportunity to meet different characters and get closer to them based on your choices (in single or polyamorous relationships), unlocking various erotic scenes. The game will be available in both English and Spanish.

Synopsis: Year 2045. Everything is advancing too fast, and imagining the future is becoming harder every day. In a modern city built in record time thanks to technological progress, millions of people from different nations live isolated from the world's major conflicts. Feeling trapped in a reality that never made sense to you, you decide to embark on a journey to find the purpose of your existence.

Some of you may be wondering: Why a visual novel? In our opinion, AVNs are the perfect format for storytelling:

• The best of books: you read at your own pace, the story is the core experience...
• The best of cinema: visuals, soundtrack, atmosphere...
• The best of video games: interactivity, customization, immersion...
• You don't need a powerful PC to play.
• The development is relatively simple, allowing us to focus on the script and artwork.

Nowadays, hundreds of AVNs can be found online. This format is becoming increasingly popular for consuming erotic content, and we believe it has a bright future. After all, watching an image or video without context isn't the same as experiencing it within a meaningful story, right?

Unfortunately, as often happens with this type of content, good storytelling is rare. Everything revolves around appearances, and characters often feel too artificial. Moreover, most of these games are designed for heterosexual men, limiting the public.

At Naventu, we're ambitious, and our goal is to create a high-quality game that anyone can enjoy. To achieve this, we are developing Fiction Paradox with the following features:

• Customizable protagonist: You can play as a man or as a woman, and decide whether you prefer to date men or women. The story remains the same; only the characters change.
• Erotic content is optional: While we believe that intimate scenes enhance the narrative, you can also play Fiction Paradox without explicit sexual moments.
• Novel mode or game mode: Whether you just want to read or prefer moments that require skill and/or ingenuity, this game is for you.
• Built-in walkthrough: No more interruptions to search for the right choices on the Internet or in a PDF; if you want a walkthrough, you can activate it anytime within the game.

For example, if you choose to date women, the first two romanceable characters will be Diana and Lu. On the other hand, if you prefer to date men, the romanceable characters will be Daniel and Ling. You can see provisional images of these characters in the attached images of this post (the final characters will be different). You can think of them as characters from different universes that share the same story. :P

We'd love to share more details, but we don't want to spoil anything... so you'll have to find out when we release the first version! Our current plan is to publish Fiction Paradox 0.1 before the end of 2025.

Over the next few weeks and months, we'll be posting more information about the game here. Some posts will be public, like character introductions, while others will be exclusive to subscribers, such as development reports or sneak peeks of images and music to show our progress. And yes, you read that right: music. Fiction Paradox will have its own original soundtrack!

Regarding the release model, subscribers will get early access to new versions based on their subscription tier. After some time, the game will be available for free download. We also plan to release it on Steam.

This project is very special to us. We're developing it with our own resources and during the free time left by our jobs. We would love to dedicate ourselves entirely to this game, so if you'd like to help us make that dream come true, consider subscribing. :)

Fiction Paradox es una novela visual para adultos (AVN por sus siglas en inglés) jugable en plataformas como Windows, Mac, Linux o Android. En ella tendrás la oportunidad de conocer a diferentes personajes con los que podrás intimar según las decisiones que tomes (en relaciones individuales o poliamorosas), desbloqueando así diferentes escenas eróticas. Se podrá jugar en inglés o en español.

Sinopsis: Año 2045. Todo avanza demasiado rápido, y cada vez es más difícil imaginar el futuro. En una moderna ciudad construida en tiempo récord gracias al progreso tecnológico, millones de personas de distintas naciones viven aisladas de los grandes conflictos globales. Sintiéndote atrapado en un mundo que nunca tuvo sentido, decides emprender un viaje para encontrar el propósito de tu existencia.

Algunos os preguntaréis, ¿por qué una novela visual? Bajo nuestro punto de vista, las AVNs son un formato ideal para contar historias:

• Lo mejor de los libros: lees al ritmo que quieras, la historia está en el centro...
• Lo mejor del cine: las imágenes, la banda sonora, el ambiente...
• Lo mejor de los videojuegos: es interactivo, personalizable, inmersivo...
• No es necesario tener un PC potente para jugar.
• La programación es sencilla; así centramos los esfuerzos en el guión y el arte.

Hoy en día circulan cientos de AVNs por Internet. Es un formato cada vez más popular para consumir contenido erótico, y creemos que tiene mucho futuro. Al fin y al cabo, no es lo mismo ver una imagen o un vídeo sin contexto, que verlo enmarcado dentro de una historia con significado, ¿verdad?

Lamentablemente, como suele pasar con este tipo de material, no abundan las buenas historias. Todo gira en torno a la apariencia, y los personajes se sienten demasiado artificiales. Además, la mayoría de estos juegos están pensados para hombres heterosexuales, limitando el alcance de la obra.

En Naventu somos ambiciosos, y nos hemos propuesto hacer un juego de alta calidad que pueda disfrutar cualquier persona. Para ello, estamos desarrollando Fiction Paradox con las siguientes características:

• Protagonista personalizable: Puedes jugar como hombre o mujer, y elegir si prefieres salir con hombres o con mujeres. La historia es idéntica; solo cambian los personajes.
• El contenido erótico es opcional: Aunque para nuestro gusto las escenas íntimas enriquecen la trama, también puedes jugar a Fiction Paradox omitiendo los momentos sexuales explícitos.
• Modo novela o modo juego: Tanto si solo quieres leer, como si te gusta que haya momentos que requieran algo de habilidad y/o ingenio, este juego es para ti.
• Guía incorporada: Se acabaron las interrupciones para buscar qué decisiones son las correctas en Internet o en un PDF; si quieres una guía, actívala cuando quieras dentro del juego.

Por ejemplo, si prefieres salir con mujeres, los dos primeros personajes romanceables serán Diana y Lu. En cambio, si prefieres salir con hombres, los personajes serán Daniel y Ling. Podéis ver cómo son los personajes en las imágenes provisionales adjuntas de este post (los personajes finales serán diferentes). Podéis tomároslo como si fueran personajes de universos diferentes que comparten la misma historia. :P

Nos encantaría contaros más cosas, pero no nos gusta hacer spoiler... ¡así que ya lo descubriréis cuando saquemos la primera versión! En principio, nuestra intención es publicar Fiction Paradox 0.1 antes de que termine 2025.

Durante las próximas semanas y meses iremos publicando más información sobre el juego en esta página. Algunos posts serán públicos, como la presentación de los personajes principales, y otros serán exclusivos para suscriptores, como informes del desarrollo o adelantos de imágenes y música para que veáis cómo va quedando. Y sí, habéis leído bien: música. ¡Toda la banda sonora de Fiction Paradox será original!

En cuanto al modelo de lanzamiento, los suscriptores podrán acceder a las nuevas versiones con antelación, en función de su nivel de suscripción. Pasado un tiempo, el juego se podrá descargar de forma gratuita. También tenemos la intención de publicarlo en Steam.

Este proyecto es muy especial para nosotros. Lo hacemos con nuestros propios recursos, y dentro del tiempo libre que nos dejan nuestros respectivos trabajos.
