Diaper Dimension Escape Teaser/Update

Hi everyone! Apologies on no new chapter of Sheltered quite yet. I got busy working on some other things, but Diaper Dimension Escape included! For those from the Patreon this was an early development game that I planned on as a text-based one initially, which will still continue to do a lot of lifting in gameplay, but has since started to become more visually-oriented.

I started by updating the current engine to a new version of the same one to have access to some bug fixes, tweaks and additions to certain tools that I thought could help. And of course, this brought along some mysterious bug fixing... Other than just sprite and visual art this has led to needing significant code changes and re-writes in order to support a different kind of gameplay that makes the environment much more interactable, hence the delay on top of my own creative blocks. Basic designs for the home are implemented but not finished, and I'll need to put things in for the workplace as well. I may rush some crude basics however just to have a playable version of the game again back in everyone's hands.

But generally my reason for not sharing something quarterish-way done is due to me wanting to share with you all a relatively nice product, as well as the fundamental change of doing with the bottom left corner buttons requiring much more work to section off all those areas and create new environments for them. For example, the entirety of the player's apartment was contained in a single "Scene" (Term for Godot engine; kind of like a single level or map in a video game), from the main entrance to the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, closet, etc. Now that is changing so each area is its own scene. There's a lot of benefits to this, but to me the greatest one that I see is a more organized approach as well as less code clutter.

Before this update does drops at a pending date, I don't want to create any expectations right now for new content other than visuals. It's possible there might be new things, but my main focus is a visual overhaul of the game (which technically is a lot of new things, but you get my drift). While I downplay it, at the same time I don't want to, because I think a huge facelift in general will be exciting. The goal is backgrounds for all areas/rooms currently in the game, doors and furniture as visible objects you can click on to navigate/interact, redesign and implement menu and UI for things such as the workplace minigame, closet navigation, computer mail, washing, etc.

It's a lot, so this may be broken up into two updates, but regardless I wanted to shine a light on this again so no one thinks that it has been shelved at all. That being said, this post isn't all carrot & stick. As I expand the design of this game I grow less fond of how it looked originally, but I still want to share what's feeling much more like a legacy version of the game now.
