Progress update
Hello everyone! This is the promised, albeit slightly delayed, update on upcoming features.
First, I’d like to address the Act 4 storyline. Initially, I planned to start it earlier, but as I’ve been working on it, I’ve realized there’s more I want to plan to ensure the story meets my quality standards. As a result, Act 4 may take a bit longer to release and could be larger in scope than originally anticipated.
That said, more story content is on the way, including the recently released Anastasia’s quest. The next update will introduce a new minor questline that allows access to the Act 3 capital without progressing the main story, along with some new unique content and crafting materials.
Some of you may have noticed we’ve added more combat animations (though their sound effects still need fitting updates). In the next release, we’ll also update a physical skill animation.
We’re planning to introduce a few new character mechanics. First, we’re adding more minor training skills, such as etiquette, literacy, and penmanship. These will be binary skills that characters can acquire through training (for slaves) or purchase (for subordinates). They’ll provide minor bonuses and lay the foundation for new repeatable quest types focused on training, potentially influencing other conditional mechanics. The initial update will include 10 such skills.
Second, we’re introducing a new Fame mechanic and revising the value mechanic so it no longer affects upgrade costs (with a slightly adjusted price calculation overall). Fame is straightforward: as a character earns more fame, they become more recognizable, leading to higher subordinate salaries and better performance on service tasks. Actions like crafting legendary gear, completing dungeons, and participating in arena fights will boost a character’s fame, though each action has a cap on its contribution. To reach maximum fame, characters must undertake the most notable tasks. Fame will also increase a character’s selling value and improve their recruitment task performance.
However, fame will decay if a character stops performing notable tasks for an extended period. For those who prefer to keep a low profile, a “mask” item will prevent a character from gaining fame.
The goal of both the Fame and new training skills is to deepen characters’ personalities, add flavor, and enhance the training gameplay aspects. These are some of the features coming in the next update, which is likely to release in the second half of July. We have even more plans for mechanic improvements, including a lust mechanic revamp, but those are more likely to arrive after Act 4 begins.
That’s all for today. As always, thank you for your attention and support. See you soon!
