Just a heads up, in about a week (I think) more accurately once I put all the renders and animations into my game I will drop the changelog.
I already started writing it, and it will be a long post with all the changes I have done and added to my game since the first release (v0.1.3) The changelog will contain SPOILERS!!! So if you don't want anything spoiled don't look at it since I can't mark the spoilery stuff as spoilers here.
There's still a ton of work for me ahead, mainly coding and fixing renders etc but the update is still on schedule for a late November or very early December release.
That's all I want to say for now, more details are always on my discord channel, since I don't want to spam here too much. And here's a pretty in game render of Jane and Yoona cuz I'm nice like that.
It is time for (hopefully) the final image dump from the 0.2.0 update!
I’m confident that around the end of November the update will be released here on Subscribestar (of course depending on tiers this can even stretch out into early December) and of course million things can go wrong so we shall see.
I think around the 10th of November the final images will render out, alongside the FFM blowjob animations that I forgot to make. …whoops. And the gallery rewards for every possible sex encounter.
There is still a lot of work to be done after the images render out, let me get into more details about this since there is a lot more to this than just rendering and coding…
The first thing is post-work, most of the images need to be photoshopped one by one, color correcting and fixing render mistakes on about 300+ images. (I’ve been slowly doing this as the images rendered out but there is still a lot to do.)
The second thing is video editing, those two BJ animations that I forgot (I talked more about this on discord) need to be edited together, and made into video files. I need to add the sex sound effects and the voiceovers etc. Good thing I that I didn’t forget more lol
The third thing is misc crap, I need to make some new sex control buttons in Photoshop and I need to animate those notification animation thingies in After Effects.
Once all post work is done, I finally convert the .PNG files into .Webp files. Of course, lossless, so I loose very little image quality, and the files will be a bit smaller but not by much…
After all this crap is done the pain begins, this all need to be coded in Renpy, and this all needs to work. I have a ton of choices in this update and from the beginning of the game that all need to work with the shitton of branching that this has. Even though that this last part is what only remains to be coded in, it is still a lot of images and paths that I have to be very careful to not fuck up, so this will take some time, and after this the true nightmare begins. TESTING
The testing is something that will be the most boring ass shit that I can do, but I have to do it, I will need to check every damn choice variation and path. FROM THE BEGINNING This means I will replay this as many times as I have to, to make sure all paths, choices and consequences, notifications, items, rewards, character info unlockables, work as intended. FML
The game needs to work perfectly on release, I want to release it and not worry about releasing patches for it after that. I just want to move on working on the v0.3.0 right after, cuz now I have a shiny new GPU and I can't wait to go apeshit with the new environments.
After the testing is done, I will write a changelog and post it. And then I will release the game at different dates, according to what is described in the subscription tiers.
I know many of you are very inpatient and I don’t blame you, this is taking WAY longer to make that I expected it, I work on this alone so it takes time to do everything since I’m just like you I have a day job, and most importantly I have a life outside all this, cuz without going to the gym, fishing, clubbing, drinking, spending time with friends away from my PC, I would go nuts…
Oh yeah, I almost forgot here are the image, as always as spoiler free as possible randomly from different path/choice variations without any dialogue. As usual the full resolution images will be posted on my discord server.
Thanks to all of you who decided to Subscribe to my page and support my game and some special people who decided to donate to my dumbass believing in me, (even though I fumbled this damn update something awfully) I was able to fully upgrade my pc.
My specs are now the following: * CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800x * Ram: 64GB DDR4 * GPU: RTX 4090 24gb
I still need a new HDD or SSD, cuz I’m running out of space but for now I can manage, I can always delete the System32 folder, it seems useless and it hogs up a lot of space.
I hit some speedbumps not everything went smoothly trying to put this GPU in my PC since it’s huge. Just look at it compared to my 4060
So, I had to get creative with it since it wasn’t fitting in my case. I sat on it to bend it a little and then I used the hammer to push it in.
I had to smack it with the hammer a good 10-15 times and finally it went in the case. The case couldn’t close fully I tried sitting on it but it still has a small gap.
Anyway, this means that soon all the renders will be done and I will move towards the coding and the testing phase. Still, I have no clue how long this will take mainly because now everything renders lightning fast and I have to make sure that every path/choice and interaction works as intended. I don’t want to release the game broken and just fix it later, I’m not EA games lol. I want to make sure everything works so you can enjoy my game and not get an error halfway through playing then you have to download it again yada yada yada…
Once I’m done with everything, I will post an Image with the release schedule, cuz you know different tiers etc.
That’s it, I just wanted to thank you all for supporting and give you an update on what’s happening behind the scenes.
Now I’m gonna go get high and spend the whole day working on the game in my panties, since I have the day off from my day job.
It’s time for another monthly disappointing post from me. It’s September now and the update is still not finished. I don’t want to repeat myself again, you know the drill I fucked up, hot temperatures prevented me from rendering constantly, my GPU can’t keep up.
Thankfully summer is finally ending and I can render more and hopefully the update will be finished soon. I have a ballpark of when it will be finished but I’m not gonna give a date, since I had bad luck with it before.
I started rendering the last stage of the bus ride and… well… the renders are pretty but they take a looooong time to render. If you came for the new screenshots, I won’t bore you any further here take a look.
These are the most spoiler free renders possible that I can share. The full 1920x1080 resolution images are shared on my Subscribers only Discord.
If you are still reading, I much appreciate it, I want to make more devlogs, but I have to make those after the update so I don’t end up spoiling things.
I want to talk a bit about some things that are bugging me, mainly that I don’t post exclusive content to my subscribers. The reason for this is that I got nothing to post at this time. There’s nothing in work in progress except from writing the story (and I won’t share the script lol) Sceneries, characters I haven’t made since March, because all of those are done and already finished. Everything is done for this update, the images just need to render out. I can’t wait to start working on new scenes, new characters and I plan to take you on this journey with me (well, the subscribers) once the 0.2.0 update is out and I start working on the next update 0.3.0.
I plan to share more behind the scenes content, stuff that I work on, how do I work on things etc. I planned that for this development stage as well, but the whole almost ending up homeless thing messed with my mind and I went into a deep depression. And I just ended up working on it without interacting with all of you too much. I used to be much more fun, Donnie’s personality is probably the closest to what can describe my personality, I’m a clown, I mess around a lot, you might have noticed how sometimes I talk with people, and that "my upgraded pc post" That took me way too much time to set up for 1 photo ahahah. I like to fuck around with people and have fun, make fun of them too lol... but I’m serious when I need to be. However, I recently noticed that I’m way too serious and, well angry. I even snapped on f95, like some little emo bitch a few days ago. Something unrelated was happening in my personal life and a random comment that wasn’t even hostile just triggered me. I made a post there in a tone that I'm not that proud of but I'm not gonna delete it, since I rather own up to my mistakes than hiding them.
Slowly over the months I’m getting better mentally, now that I’m seeing my game coming together nicely is making me happy. Still stressful, and I’m snapping from time-to-time cuz I feel that I’m letting everyone down because of how long it takes for me to release this update and I’m shitting bricks that people will think that this update is not good enough for the amount of time it took for me to make it, but it is what it is.
I have 110+ animations and 1500+ still images in this v0.2.0 update. I don't have the exact number until I put everything together, since sometimes I add a few renders, I remove few, whatever it takes to make the story flow better. I sometimes feel like I try way too hard, when I see what other developers are doing, but most of the times I feel like I don’t do enough, You guys are paying $10 for this, some of you even more. And I think you deserve a high-quality product, the best that I can make. Not some 300 shitty renders update with 4 animations, with one character standing in front of the screen barely posed just closing and opening their mouths with one big damn light blasting at them because that’s easy to do. I want my characters to feel alive, to express emotions properly. I don’t want to make just another average AVN, I want to make one that can be out there with the best of the best AVN's, because to me this is not some random meaningless project that I’m only here to milk money with, It’s a passion project, sure I want to make money with it, every game developer wants that, but I also want to make something that I can look back on some day, and I want to be proud of what I’ve created. But because of my perfectionist attitude sometime I think I will run out of time people will lose interest because I’m not fast enough and this will fail.
I’ve been lurking and doing some research on other much more successful developers as some people have suggested in DM's. I’ve seen that they had a slow but constant evolution that benefits them over the time. Not to shit talk or disrespect anyone, or thinking that my shit is better than others, however what I’ve seen is that they didn’t improve that fast. Their first few updates usually don’t look that good, but they improved at a steady pace and they could update fast with whatever shitty GPU they had at the time, and they improved as expected once more time has gone by and they bought better equipment since they got a ton of support because they updated frequently.
I’m different. I always was.
My parents told me that when I was a baby, I started running before I started walking… Naturally first you start crawling then walking then running. I started crawling, skipped the walking part and I ran straight into a wall… and started crying… Kinda the same shit I’m doing now lol
Nothing’s ever good enough for me when it comes to this game, and I always want to improve, make things look better, make scenes more realistic so, I fuck around until I get things the way I like them. And I did. But I improved way to fast for my own good. I went from renders that were a piece of cake for my old gtx 1070 GPU to renders that my 4060 Ti is struggling to render.
I have this mindset that the best way to learn something is not by blindly following some random dude’s tutorial on Youtube or buying expensive in depth paid courses holding your hand all the way through not thinking for yourself at all, but actually by trial and error. Of course, I watched a couple of youtube tutorials when I started working with Daz3d but I just needed them to teach me the basics about the software for example: where different controls are, where are the texture settings at yada yada yada. And after I learn where things are located at, I just start fucking around, testing different shit and well I don’t want to suck my own dick too much here, but I think these new renders turned out great in just a very short time. Pff "new…" Shieeet I made these back in April, I just NOW was able to render them out. My GPU can't keep up with me lol, I can make them even look better now lol.
Anyway, this is my curse and my blessing. Picking things up fast has its downsides, especially if you don’t have the proper equipment for it. I improved with everything since the first release, my lighting is better, my scenes are bigger and custom let’s not forget that. Well not fully custom and unique they are still bought from the store but I improve them so they fit my game better. Cuz my game is not vanilla, it takes place in an alternate universe but I won’t get into this now, cuz spoilers. What I’m trying to write here but I keep getting distracted is that all these improvements come with a price. Sure, I my renders look better, but they also take longer render. My skills improved fast but my GPU didn’t. A lot of details require a strong GPU which I don’t have. I have a 4060 ti 16gb is a good card, but holly shit its struggling like crazy, when I put in 5-6 people + the scenery and lighting. (just look at the background on some of the images I shared, all those bus seats are filled lol) These screenshots that I showed you took a lot of time to render. And for fucks sake I managed to crash Daz more than a couple of times with them, due to running out of Vram hahaha.
I don’t know where the fuck I’m going with this, I’m just writing what’s on my mind while I’m waiting for things to render out. I’m learning to deal with the stress and everything that comes with game development, the trolls, personal life stuff. And the unknown, I don’t know how this update will be received when it’s finally out, I don’t know how much time I will need to save up for a new GPU and I don’t know what the fuck will life throw at me in the next few months. I guess we’ll see.
I will start improving my pages once the update is out, I have to do this once the update is out because I need to render out custom stuff with my characters to give my pages "personality". For SubsribeStar, I will add a support goal among other things, so you can see how much I saved up for a new GPU, cuz I’ve been putting aside almost every dollar that this page made, and I’m halfway there for an RTX 4090, so things are good.
For Discord I have ideas for emotes and some other things, and for my subreddit I hope I can turn it into a place where fans of my game can share screenshots and talk about the things that they like or dislike about my game, discuss different scenes that they got with the different choices that they made, and generally to have fun with likeminded people from the community.
Shit, and I even plan making a couple of those signature image thingies on F95 for my pirate friends. All though I will not be spending that much time over there anymore because firstly I want to build up my Reddit page and secondly it seems like me being there stopped the conversation about my game and turned into a QnA page lol… So yeah, I will distance myself from it for a while, and if you want to talk to me, best thing is to subscribe and get access to my discord, or just ask me things on my official subreddit.
Anyway, this is it. I don’t know what the hell this post turned into. But who cares, I said what was on my mind at the time. Sorry for disappointing once again but we all need to be patient until everything renders out and the game is bug free.
Thanks if you read the whole thing, and supporting!
