[IMPORTANT] A few words from Kitty (and the person behind Kitty)
TLDR: Due in large part to increasing censorship and pressure from payment providers
The Whore of Babylon will enter a period of quiet reflection. I have taken it down to begin a complete visual renewal, to re-illustrate it and bring its art to the standard it deserves. Its story will remain, but public updates will cease until this transformation is well underway (this will be the
latest update available). In its place, all our creative energy will now be poured into
PROJECT SX-ULTRA. This will be our foremost priority, destined to blossom with new, original art and music, improved writing, and new content. This is the future we are actively building.
Dear ones,
I know I wrote to you just a couple of days ago. However, things are happening so fast and life is taking so many twists and turns (partly for some of the reasons mentioned in the
previous post) that it is necessary to readjust priorities and move forward in one direction, but move forward nonetheless. And since I had to take decisions due to the fast pacing circumstances, I wanted to take my time an write to you again.
- It's no secret that this is not the best time to be an adult content developer.
Everything that is happening with payment providers, pressure groups, increased censorship, etc., etc., etc. is yet another challenge to survive in this dystopian reality we are living in. After all, the world we were raised to survive in no longer exists. I'm not going to make political statements here, not because I'm not interested, but because everything you need to know about it can be found by reading my work. The only thing I can say is that we all have a collective responsibility to fulfill, and that there has been no concession in history that has been achieved without action that fulfills that responsibility.
I don't think it's a secret that Kitty Red is a woman (and a non English speaker), and that this is a factor that has influenced my stories and my artistic expression. In the same way, the means at my disposal to be able to execute these expressions and do what I have always wanted to do—write—have also influenced me. Because somehow, when I do it, a little piece of me remains attached to each letter that is written. And although I sometimes review my work, and, pardon the expression, I “cringe hard,” I often understand why I did things the way I did, and I give myself the opportunity to review them (if I deem it appropriate) and improve them. And I can say that I stand firmly by my creative decisions (which, luckily, are totally independent), and that's why I'm always revising and improving. Kitty Red has been with me for more than seven years, and outside of the character, she's a facet of myself that I adore, and one that I'm not willing to give up, even in the midst of all this chaos. I want to keep writing, I want to keep developing, and I want to create games and writings that I am proud of.
Now then. After these nice words, what does this really mean for Kitty and The Lord?
I'll be blunt, I'll tell you straight.

I have disabled public downloads on Itch for The Whore of Babylon: our debut project is undoubtedly one of your favorites, and of course, it has a very special place in my heart. I want to take some time to review it, particularly in terms of the graphics and visuals, and completely re-illustrate the project. This would mean refining the current visual content, planning the new content, and commissioning it to L.K, in order to continue to ensure the complete independence of the creative decisions for the entire work. As for the story, don't worry, it will remain exactly the same. Of course, typos and grammatical errors will be corrected, as well as the occasional literary embellishment. However, I am sufficiently satisfied with the bulk of the stories, which will remain the same or very similar in the end. (Surprise: the ending is TWOB 2.0). And while we develop all this work, or at least a large part of it, I have decided that TWOB will not receive updates for quite some time. Not on Itch, and probably nowhere else either. In short: there will be no more official public updates of TWOB until further notice. (this will be the latest update available)
- This visual renewal process has already begun with PROJECT SX-ULTRA. For months, we have been focused on polishing this project and adding extra content. If you see here, you will notice the tremendous leap in visual and written quality that the game will take for the next update, which, as always, will have its public version and its NKE version. Original music and illustrations, improved writing, and new content are what you can expect from SX-ULTRA from now on, and it will be our priority. The first mission illustrated entirely by L.K will be “File 3: A Night in Amazonia,” and it will also be the first to have its own soundtrack. The idea is to have the same for all the missions that currently exist: art, music (and a complete purge of grammatical errors).
With that, my dear friends, I hope I have made the foreseeable future of Kitty and The Lord clear to you. I am more than committed to this project, and I will continue to develop it because I appreciate art and its independence, and because it is incredibly valuable to me to express myself through it.
I extend my greetings and sincere support to all other developers who are facing difficult times due to censorship, the economy, politics, or even personal circumstances. Everything moves forward, and everything must move forward at some point. We must keep going!
All my love
