Hello everyone,

after relaunching my Patreon page I thought about I'd do with this page and right now I'm thinking of using Subscribestar for Inevitable Relations and Patreon for Dark Fate Chronicles.

So from now on I'm only going to talk about IR here and DFC will be Patreon only.

As for working on IR, the feedback I got after releasing the last version made me think of maybe changing a few things back to what they were or rewrite the dialogue in a few scenes.
For example the scene in the precinct, in hindsight it's just way to ridiculous to keep it. The captain will still be a moron, but the scene with Keira will be removed and in it's place I'm gonna put a different scene.

So the next version will change a few of the current scenes and also expand on what was already there. I don't have a release date yet, because I'm currently working on version 0.2 for DFC. Once that's done though I'm gonna focus on IR. My idea right now is to release a new version to IR and DFC every quarter. Not sure if that will work out, but I will do my very best to get it to work.

Hey @everyone

finished the new version of DFC a few days ago. I wasn't happy with a few renders though and rerendered them, now this version is really done. It continues the subway path. Next up is the sofa path, which is a bit more challenging than I thought, but nothing too serious (let's just say the environment I'm using needs A LOT of resources and is PITA to work with). It now has roughly 100 images, so again double of what the last version had.

Also you might notice that Julie is sometimes breaking the 4th wall and that's actually something I wanna continue with future updates. So I guess you can look at Julie as The Droid with a mouth.

As before, I'd like to know what you think and if you have any criticism, don't hesitate to let me know.

Hey everyone,

while I was working on my other game (Inevitable Relations) I noticed that most of the ideas I had, didn't really work out and that I need a little break from working on that project. The main reason for that is that I made the mistake of not stepping back and it ended up biting me in the ass. I realize that the last update was released a bit over a year ago, but with the removal of my Patreon page I decided to release the updates when I think they are ready and when I'm happy with them. And so far that's not the case, which sucks. That's not supposed to mean I'm not working on it though, I still do and won't stop until the game is finished, however long that might take.

That said after I realized that I need to step back I thought I could revamp my little side project. The initial idea only was to redo a few renders, rewrite the code a little and make it more interactive. Well it turned out to be a bit more than that. Keep in mind we're still talking about a very early Alpha version here, so there isn't much content yet. The most important thing is though that I had a lot of fun making the new renders so far. And I hope that continues until I have enough to finally have a real first demo version instead of just a very short not really comprehensive excuse for a demo.

With all the changes made, I also thought that the name A Broken Family doesn't really fit the narrative of the game, so I made the decision to change the name to Dark Fate Chronicles. In addition to the different name I changed Julie quite a bit. She now has short hair (which I think looks phenomenal) and she has a bit of an attitude now. I'm not sure yet if I'm gonna change her so much that she's more of an Android or enhanced human or whatever you wanna call it and not a "Terminator" anymore. But like I said that's still under consideration.

As for the story, I mentioned that I want to make it more interactive, so instead of the typical choices menus I added choice screens that I think turned out to look pretty good and just make it feel nicer than with the normal choice menus.

Finally something to share.
The new version is coming fairly soon (I hope). It will include roughly 300 new/new-ish renders. About 100 of them are rerenders of existing scenes, mostly due to the model change for Charlie, but also because I ended up making changes to Eva's room, so I had to rerender those images too. That said however, the version will continue both the Beth and the Eva path. For the Beth path I plan to finish day 5 and for the Eva path the plan is to at least triple the amount of content.
