Brief Update

Hey, just dropping a quick update to confirm I'm still alive and am still working, chipping away on the next chapter.

I said it would be shorter and would be up sooner, and while that's still true- what I hadn't expected was to get absolutely hammered at my job, starting from basically a few weeks after I posted the previous chapter and continuing on to the present.

I have been writing, but there's also been numerous days where I've come home from work and pretty much gone right to sleep, to then wake up and work again. Weekends are a little better, although you'd be surprised how much of Saturday disappears when you're sleeping like the dead.

I thought I'd adjust to that new cycle and throw myself into writing with vigour again, but by the time I looked up, I realised a full month had passed with me having written only about a dozen pages in the process.

Anyway, this isn't meant to be a woe-is-me, work is work, I'm sure you've all got jobs just as stressful and exhausting as mine. 

This is just to assure you that I am still working and I'll still try get a new chapter out ASAP. And, I'm gonna make sure it's not gonna be another 40k monster! Given the process I've already made, I only need another handful of serious, productive sessions to wrap it up. So, hopefully I'll have better news soon!

[Danmachi] A Waning Silence Ch19 - Public Release

And thus, here we are with the second half of massive 45k chapter that was meant to be Ch18! The end of Bell, Hörn and Mikoto's journey to the Safe Zone and all the dangers that still lie before them.

This one's a little delayed because I actually thought I'd append a bit of an epilogue on, showing something fun and a little sexy in the Safe Zone (can't have two chapters without anything sexy, can I!?) but no matter how I wrote or re-wrote or re-thought about it, I just didn't like it more than the original ending. The original ending fits the scene and tone, I think, so I've stuck with it. The chapter is exactly the same as the previous one uploaded here.

The scene I was trying to write as a revised ending will instead be the start of Ch20, which you guys will hopefully see very soon! Look forward to it, I think it's fun!

[Danmachi] A Waning Silence Ch18 - Public Release

And thus, the long awaited day dawns! The public release of Chapter 18!

However, an important distinction. After getting a lot of feedback on the sheer size and meaty girth of the Early Release chapter, standing at a staggering 45k words... I was told I needed to split that up into multiple chapters. 

So, instead, I've broken Chapter 18 into what I think makes for the best two parts to release as Chapter 18 and 19. I'm releasing the first now, and I'll release the second in a week.

And I might add a little lovely spice into the ending of Ch19, just because I love you all.

Chapter Update

Hey, I just wanted to give a brief update on the chapter I'm currently working on, mostly to assure everyone that it's both still being written and almost complete.

I think it's a looking to be a great chapter, and while it's (of course) ballooned far bigger than anticipated, I'm happy with what's there and how it looks.

I'm a little frustrated that it's only *almost* done though. I was making incredible progress with it for a long time, I was fully expecting to have it done in May, or June at worst, but then the editing and proofing just completely slowed it down and it dragged my timeline out drastically.

As of this morning there were three scenes that needed to be finished (probably about 3-4,000 words total) and as of the time I'm writing this, there's only two scenes left to do. So, ideally, you should be seeing it finished very soon.

But I thought I should give an update regardless because "very soon" sometimes tends to be take a little longer than I want. 

That's a long way of saying, "I have been working hard on it" and "It's almost done."

So, I guess I'll just say thank you again for your support and patience, and I'll make sure to have it ready and done in as good a quality as your expect, as soon as I can manage.

[Danmachi] A Waning Silence Ch17 - Public Release

And here we go! The long suffering and perhaps long awaited, public release for Ch17!

I'm in a really good mood after finally getting this finished, that I've actually already made good progress on the next. Of course, there's a long way to go, but hey, hopefully that's a good omen. Haha, I'll take whatever I can get if it means no more waits like this one!
