September 2025 "what we're up to" update

Its September everybyte and happy silksong to all who celebrate. what the heck are we doing? we ask ourselves that everyday. but we wanna gather our thoughts about our artistic goals for this month...
videos...so we're still on youtube for the time being but we are, like we said trying to establish a presence elsewhere!
we have uploaded a couple of things to our internet archive account which u can find here
https://archive.org/details/@fluffbyte_presents

but also another good news, as of today the fluffbyte entertainment system is on peertube! we finally got approved for an instance on spectra . if you dont know about peertube, dont worry, we didnt know it exist before last month lol. its a fedirated (mastadon) youtube alternative platform, spectra is just one server on it. and the videos on any server are reviewed by people ,not bots. its a much smaller platform than youtube but the point is to spread our roots out. we dont know if we'll upload all our vods there or just edited content but heres the link
https://spectra.video/a/fluffbyte_ent_sys
that segways perfectly in to our plan to make a video essay this month. didnt end up working on it very much in august. but we got swept up in a new special interest that we're sure to be exploring into our content later this month...as well as with art. but we're still cooking. we've been doing a lot of art of a certain ttrpg we'll be running a one shot of this month so we're very excited.
but in terms of edited content, we decided to ditch our old editing software we've been using since 2020 and switch to davinci resolve...which we've installed but havent actually opened yet. its kinda intimidating so its been easy to procrastinate
all the moving of platforms and tools and learning new things and pursuing granular knowledge  in order to subsist in this world that is high key anti artist has been really overwhelming to pursue. we made a new email too. we're gonna probably we switching our business email to our proton email address, so google can scrape less of our existence.

in october were switching away from a microsoft os. we're gonna try steam's os, which is a branch of linux. not super optimistic all our programs will continue to work as expected so there might be a lot more growing pains to come.

all in all, we're kinda regretting not spreading ourselves in a more decentralized direction before now, its kinda ass to exist on the mainstream internet.. a lot of our contemporaries are doing there best to survive physically and digitally

a number of ero and guro artists who've post their work on itch in the past released a zine called I'm not allowed to draw this. its a fuck you to itch bending to puritan fascism. we think you should check it out. the thing with the new policies is that it means artists who make things that payment processors dont like cant profit from their work. so artists who make 'unprofitable' content made free art. badass
https://papriqa.itch.io/inatdt

the fight against payment processors is still on going. if you would like to contribute there is always https://yellat.money/ which will give you a script to call payment processors with. however we dont have confidence that itch will be a place we post a lot of our work. so thats still up in the air for now

as far as streaming goes, we'll be doing weekly Deltarune streams starting this month and into october. a chapter a week. we plan to bring our voice acting a game, as well as produce some special pngs for the headmates who play as well as some other fanart related happenings.
we didnt do as much art in chaistyrune as we wanted but we do intend on making a few more pieces before we start streaming it so stay tuned.

{and a reminder that glitchbyte will be having its vtuber debut on halloween! tho we havent planed much beyond that yet.}

thats most of what we feel confident discussing as our plans can change and our adhd is a storm that leaves few pieces unmoved, in our undermedicated existence. thanks for listening

~With hope,Thornbyte

ps: we found out we can get payouts now,we think?? not sure and havent rtried it cause its a pretty low amount rn, but its worth mentioning since we thought we needed to have a certain number of paid subs before we were eligable. but we wont know util we try to withdraw. but we're gonna wait a little longer before trying, maybe end of the year.

General update August 2025

So we're a pretty skiddish creator all things considered. We have yet to be good at being consistent. but we'll try to make our plans short and sweet and clear (guess what,we failed!)

Chasityrune is almost over. we didnt do as much art for it as we wanted, but thats okay! we do hope to get a couple more pieces out before the end, but that means we have 4 weeks of deltarune streams to look forward to in September and october. we want to put some production value behind them. we want to make bumpers for the intro and outros and make the accompanying games on those streams compliment the vibe and subject.
so we should be finishing chapter 4 around the 10th of 18th of october.

october is gonna be busy since on halloween we're planning on doing glitchbyte's live2d vtuber debut stream. we might be doing the tobyfox earthbound mod but beyond that we dont have an exact plan for that?

we dont really know our tractory as far as it comes to streaming beyond halloween, but thats also because the changing times have made us unsure of how we'll move forward as a creator at all. youtube's id verification requirements are worrysome, and have made it furtur hostile feeling for us to be on. but no good alturnative exists. contuining to upload stream vods only to lose our account(s) some day weighs on us, esp after struggling with the loss of twitch for vod storage beyond the 100 hours know allowed. and that was with notice.
when we moved from patreon to substar we hoped that we wouldnt have to get used to moving sites, and we hoped that while getting into doing erotic art as well we wouldnt have to go thru the stress of having to juggle a sfw and nsfw account. we collapsed what we had been doing and what we wanted to do into one another. we dont dislike the structure we have here, but it seems that the freedom we sought, as humble as it has been,is under attack.
if you dont know payment processors like visa, mastercard, and paypal (the last of which is of particular note bc pp does not work with substar, which does effect how accessible it is to support us) have been put under pressure by conservative orgs, particularly collective shout to stop allowing the sale of adult video games. although the scope of this seems to be around all art, not just video games. there are a number of censorship moments that are either trying to limit or outright ban adult content or ban queer content under the cover of all queer content being inherently nsfw. If you follow creators like us attacks like this shouldnt be anything new. if i were to talk about all the ways conservative fascists are trying to limit expression and speech and the ability for artists to make money legally i would probably burn out before i could finish writing this, but suffice to say as  an artist we have been under a ton of stress to figure out where we can host our work, how we can continue to make stuff and keep paths open to make some amount of income from our art.
subscribe star is only so usful. we dont want to paygate all our content. esp not our video content. we have had a hard time getting back into making video essays but that time away has led us to go into other artistic  pursuits. music and drawing in particular. we are also working on a Visual novel with a friend, but that got halted for a bit. in part because the friend lived in a place were it could soon be illigal to make certain kinds of art like things that included erotic age regression. (lukily she moved but that took time and energy).

eventually we wont consdier youtube a place to consistantly post videos. even after the dust settles we dont think our vn will be allowed on itch (maybe steam weirdly enough). any spicy art we post to bluesky feels like poking the bear. The main stream internet is being made less possible to exist on if you arent ad friendly. we are complaining but we arent giving up. we're trying to find a mastadon to start doing soical media posting. we have a neocities domain and plan to make at least a bear bones website to post our art. (at first it was gonna be by the end of the year but now we're shooting for the next few weeks?)
it is a lot of spoons to do esp since we have change resistant autistim but we are trying to make steps to still be around once the shit hitting the fan spreads completely.

if u wanna help the general movement of anti censorship you can call payment processors. theres a lot of people following the stripts that can be found at https://yellat.money/ you can help artists like us continue to exist on places like here and on itch and steam but also all over the internet. we are somewhat optomisitc but we dont think the current battle is the end of all this. and certainly not the end of our trouble keeping up visablity. to be honest getting into art right now and striving to make any money from it is very scary right now, and we feel like we'd have matured much more as an artist by now if we didn't have to worry so much about losing our place on a site or of being harrassed or whatever...but thats not the world we live in. we are taking steps to build up consistency and confidence and more deliberate output. it feels like the world is trying to kick us down at every turn, telling us that if we stop crying maybe it'll stop kicking. (i didnt even mention trans or queer rights generally or health care shit! so you can imagine how bleak this coulda been)

so yeah. we'll keep u posted
