Commissions?
This was not a commission, and I am only making money off it through Subscribestar.
- I've thought long and hard about this, and I've decided that commissions are unrealistic for my desires, breadth of work, and turnover times.
- At the end of the day, I'm not really compelled by money. I have to want to do the work I do, or else I won't be able to do it. My resolve is unusually fragile for the scale of my work and I'm too anxious about transactional stuff to function properly under a commission model.
- The positive side of that: If I like you and your character/idea enough, you won't have to pay a single penny to get them drawn!
No thumbnails?
I'm waiting for an answer from Substar support about why thumbnails for my uploads are no longer working. Something must have changed on their end after my last release.
Substar is also probably (fairly!) re-encoding my videos after some time to a smaller size, so I may have to work out a cloud host for future stuff.
Why did this one take so long?
Alts and complexity.
A lot of the time sink was me hitting the limits of Harmony about halfway into the project and having to work around my program crashing because i touched a peg with transformations enabled. (see below: horrible awful node spaghetti hell)
In the future, I won't do as many alts. They easily added several months to the project as well.
The 4k version had to be rendered separate from the 1080p version to maintain the aliased look, so check it out if you want! But that also added time because I couldn't just downsample the 4k version this time.
I'm not happy with how long this one took, so ill be prioritising efficiency more from now on. i yearn for simpler times

What next?
i have a LOT of things i want to do next!
- either derpixion/zone style short films or minus8 style music video stuff. expect something way different next time!
- i could also go the direction of smaller and faster projects but something about that doesn't tickle me right. It's economically the correct thing to do but i wanna go bigger
- I want to focus on movement and animation over compositing and effects from now on. Compositing hell is real and it can hurt you
