Chapter 18 of Emily's Journey to Happiness



Elizabeth pulled into the doctor’s office next to the hospital and quickly jumped out of her SUV and ran around to Emily's side and got her out of the car seat before rushing her inside to see Rebecca.

"Elizabeth how's she doing?" Rebecca asked in a calm but worried voice.

"She's still screaming and won't wake up no matter what I try. I've never seen a nightmare or a night terror like this before." Elizabeth says trying not to show how worried she was and trying to keep back her tears.

"Let's run some scans quickly. I'm worried with how long she has been like this that there might be something else we missed before." Rebecca said to try and help reassure Elizabeth.

Elizabeth followed behind Rebecca as she started walking to another room with a bed to place Emily on so they could start the tests.

As they ran the tests it starts to show something Rebecca was fearing and was not sure how Elizabeth would take it. “good news is she should wake up sooner or later bad news is that could be hours or tomorrow, it seems like she’s having an extreme night terror and forcing her awake would be a not only bad but horrible thing to do right now. All we can do is wait for her to wake up on her own and help her if she needs it”.

“how bad could it be if she’s not waking up Rebecca.”

“honestly I couldn’t tell you but I can say it has to be bad.”

 

 

“Emily come out and play I promise it won’t be as bad as you think.” Jack yelled.

“I’ll never come to you I remember everything you did to me!!! AND I REFUSE TO BE YOUR VICTIM AGAIN!”

“That’s fine by me I guess I’ll just have to find you myself and make you suffer all over again.”

 

Emily run from room to room trying to find a place to escape but all the windows wouldn’t open.

“Dammit I’m not getting anywhere at this rate” there has to be some way out of here.

 

“I hear you my little Pet” Jack laughed

“I’m no ones pet you asshole! And I never will be!” Emily yelled as loud as she could

 

It felt like hours to Emily that she was looking for a way out but could never find one and she was starting to get frustrated by it. “I have to be missing something here, there has to be a way out”

At that moment Jack burst from a door that Emily didn’t even notice before. “Miss me little Emily?” he laughed

Emily quickly shot to the far side of the room and begun trying to find a way out of there.

“Now where were we Emily were did we leave off before you left me.”

“NO!” 

“No? what do you mean no little Emily”

“I’m not going to do this again you have taken everything from me and more and I’m not about to let you take what I have left now and what I have found.”

“Oh? You mean your little Elizabeth? She can’t save you from me now it’s just us and no one else.”

“Your wrong Jack Elizabeth promised she would always be with me and even now she’s with me even if I can see her.”

“you finally grew a backbone little girl color me shocked.”

“I finally realized why I couldn’t out run you in here, it’s a dream Jack and in dreams my own dreams I have the power not you!”

“Aww what are you going to do pee on me again and hope that helps?”

“No Jack I’m going to do this my way and I’m going to do it without regrets.”

Emily knows it’s a dream now, Jack looks scared and that gives her all the power and will she needs. Out of no where she pulls out a little toy gun and points it at Jack.

Jack laughs “Never seen a real gun sweetie?”

“no I just think this is more appropriate.” Emily says smiling

Emily pulls the trigger and out comes a little Flag with the word BANG! On it.
