[New game announcement] BootyTrap !
Hi everyone, it's been too long since my last post, and I owe you some explanations!
It's been almost two years since I started working exclusively on E-Thots, and I love this game and the characters created for it. However, with the 2.6 and 3.1 update, I realized that it was becoming increasingly difficult to move this team forward, and that it might be time for a little break and mental reset.
That's why I decided to use the next chapter timing slot to make another game (much more modest, easy to develop, and much more fast-paced) just to change things up a bit before returning to the main course (E-Thots)!
And this new project is: BootyTrap! And absolutely, it's STILL A NTR GAME
In this one, you play Jules, Lucie's boyfriend since childhood, who (lucie) works as a cashier in a hypermarket but dreams of living the BootyTrap lifestyle (an Instagram parodie). The only problem is that she suffers from social anxiety and is unable to talk to people like a “normal” person. She is perceived as weird and creepy, but deep down she is just a silly woman in a world where she feels out of place.
This time, the game focuses on the BootyTrap app, an Instagram parody. You'll help your girlfriend take her first steps before perhaps seeing her dive a little deeper than what you could have imagined...
For this one, I started from scratch, this time with a “phone” UI in mind (and I know that lots of game are already doing this, but I hope you'll give it a chance anyway!).
Ideally, this will also make it easier to port the game to Android and ios, for those who prefer to play on their phones.
The engine is the same, Construct 3, and as always, I'm trying to make the game feel as clean and enjoyable to play as possible, with more QOL than in E-Thots, which was my first game on the engine, so it was built a bit oddly.
The game IS an NTR game like E-Thots, and that remains the main theme (however, it should be much more fast-paced, as I said).
As for the use of AI in the game:
As you can see in the screenshots I shared, the CGs are made using AI. And I apologize in advance to those who will be disappointed. If I had the means to pay an artist to do the drawings, believe me, I would have done so.
But if it might reassure some people, AI was used ONLY and EXCLUSIVELY for the CG. So neither the code, nor the UI elements, and especially not the writing were assisted by AI at ANY TIME.
Now that all that's out of the way, the release is scheduled for sometime soon, hopefully in mid-July! I sincerely hope you enjoy this little “summer break,” which has been made with no less care and respect for you than my previous projects.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!
