Love of Magic is now on it's final sprint, and I'm hoping to have an official launch on Steam by the end of the month. With day 288 finally complete, I've got one final story event (Day 287) to write, and achievements to implement; neither of those are needed to send the game for Steam approval, though, so that's up next.
As part of that, I'll be removing Morningstar from Book 3's beta branch; if you've been playing it there, and want a separate Steam key for Morningstar, let me know. Don't forget to give it a wishlist if you haven't already; every one of those help a ton in getting ready for launch.
I also went through and added 20 new collectible card backgrounds; some come naturally through the story, while others unlock from special challenges.
After four years of development, Book 3 is almost done, and with that the story of Love of Magic. At least until New Game+ begins...

I'm back at working on Act XVI, the final Act of Love of Magic. Let's have a look at how the progress breaks down.
Act XVI is 22 days long (stretching from day 266 to 288). It's an extremely busy act, with at least one event every day. By the end of the weekend it should be done up to day 275, so almost half-way.
breakdown: Writing: 50% Rendering: 60%
In addition to the calendar events I'm looking at adding a number of optional side-stories and events. At the moment I'm looking at ~15-18 of these, chatting with characters like Xochi, Diana, or Samael to understand the story, resolve your relationships with them and in general letting the story find it's natural conclusion.
I'm done with 7/16 of these, though most of ones that require custom renders are complete.

There's a LOT of work left to clean up the world; hiding events that aren't supposed to trigger and guarding everything so the world reflects the changes at the end of Act XV. This will be an ongoing effort; I'd guess I'm about 50% done.
The final sequence of the game are short looks at what happens after the end of the game. Some of them will be optional, while others will be mandatory. All in all I expect ~10 smaller events like that, of which I've rendered 3. Having said that, the two largest ones have already been rendered, and the rest are largely 2-3 image sequences.

I'm a little under halfway through, and I think I'm still on track to complete the game before the end of September. Since that's when I started the game, 4 years ago, there's a nice symmetry to completing it then :)
