Between Humanity 0.1.5 Release and more

Hello!

I am initiating the rollout of version 0.1.5 starting today.

As a gesture of gratitude to my supporters, I am implementing an early access policy with version 0.2 and subsequent releases. To kick off, I will have a very brief early access period for 0.1.5.

I hope you enjoy the new content and all the enhancements incorporated into the new version.
It still belongs to Chapter 1, but with several additions. Give it a try!

Changelog:

NEW: The game text has undergone a massive revision + there's additional new lines! (You can now ask for translation templates over on Discord!)
NEW: Relevant stats can now be seen in Characters phone app visualized by a vertical bar.
NEW: You can choose between a couple of default colors for MC’s name after the intro.
NEW: Outline size slider for text and name label in the options menu.
NEW: Save naming (deactivated by default)
NEW: Sound for clickables and new clickables as well!
CHANGE: The endgame stat screen now has different pages for spicy stats - one for the current playthrough, and one for all playthroughs combined.
CHANGE: Gallery now only shows girls with special scenes.
FIX: Non-lesbian Amber scene would spawn a wild Alice when you just want to relieve yourself.
FIX: Most of the main menu videos were in 4K which would cause performance issues on low-end hardware.
FIX: Some larger animations from version 0.1.1 now use the AV1 codec instead of VP9, reducing their size.
And A LOT more of smaller fixes!

Development Log - 2024 #4

Hey there lovely people!

You are probably waiting for some news and I can tell you for sure, that this will be the last development log for version 0.2.

I'm approximately 90 - 95% done with the current scope. Some selected persons have already tested most of it and the proofreading effort is on track!

As some of you might know, this is the first project of this scope and I'm really not the best at making good assumptions on how long I need for certain content to finish.

Despite working full time beside the development, it's quite tough to make good assumptions. But over the duration of the project, this will improve, as well as the quality of the game!

Let's talk about the game size: The current update is sitting at ~1400 renders and ~34000 words.
As you can tell by comparison to last months devlog, I was missing a little bit of dialogue.
The finished update will probably have around 1500 renders, you can definitely look forward to a few hours of additional content!

So, as you can tell, this update will be quite big and I'll definitely make version 0.3 a two-part project. (You can, of course, just wait for the final 0.3, but you're also very welcome to play the first part!)

Anyway, once I'm done with those remaining renders, I'll focus on the animations and smaller things like my 500+ code to-dos (Yay!)

April Fool: Between Humanity is now Between Kingdoms!

Hey guys!

I'm happy to finally reveal what I've been working on for the last few months!

To start off, I've purchased the most expensive RPG Maker license, so I'm on the safe side. Yes, you read that right. I want to release Between Humanity on Steam, so I've switched its engine to RPG Maker and therefore also renamed it to Between Kingdoms!

I'm still in the process of recreating some scenes, but it's quite impressive how fast the transition went. I've also paid attention to only using assets like hair and clothes from modders so I can even keep the style of my girls!

All the assets are exclusively sourced from the dark web. Just kidding! They're actually from reputable creators, ensuring high-quality visuals for an immersive gaming experience.

I've also been fine-tuning the combat system to strike the perfect balance between challenge and fun. It's been a blast designing epic boss battles and strategic encounters that will keep players on their toes (Look at that boss on the second screenshot, holy moly!).

Between Kingdoms is shaping up to be an immersive role-playing medieval experience like no other. The storyline is rich with moral characters and complex dilemmas, set in an ancient world on the brink of chaos. Players will navigate through a web of alliances, betrayals, and personal struggles as they uncover the truth behind humanity's darkest secrets.

I can't wait to share more updates with you all as development progresses. Stay tuned for sneak peeks, behind-the-scenes footage, and even a beta testing phase in the near future!
