So, as you can see, there's a slight change to the Dev Log image today. Since the last Dev Log, I was let go from my day job. The last couple of weeks has been crazy to say the least. I am currently searching for a new job, however at the moment, the only money I have coming in is the small amount I make from the game. However, just because I said that it is a small amount, PLEASE don't misunderstand and think that it isn't greatly appreciated. That small amount is a lifeline at the moment. So thank you all so much for your support!
Unfortunantly, searching for a job and filling out application after application on multiple websites is tiresome and time consuming. I am actually spending about 14 hours a day doing job searches. I really need to find something quickly so I can keep supporting my son and afford to keep working on the game. For this reason, work on the game has slowed. I am still doing work on it, but at a reduced rate from before.
My son has been great about this, not complaining that we have switched from burgers to ramen, and Dr Pepper to water. When I first told him that I had lost my job, I said that the worst part was that I felt I was letting him down. When I woke up the next morning there was a note on my keyboard that said, "You're not letting me down. I love you dad. -XXXXXX(your son)" It was very moving.
As you can see above, the girls were also very vocal with their thoughts when I told them what happened. They also had some comments about my previous boss. Kinley said "Who does he think he is to let you go?" to which Kayla said "A big stupid doodoo head who wants his business to fail aparently." But I managed to get them both calmed down. I assured them that nothing is going to stop me from completeing their story, and now I am extending that same assurance to you all as well. Things may slow down a hair while I find a new job, but it will not stop the game.
Once again I thank you all for your support, especially during this difficult time.
Thanks!
Griff.
