Hey everyone another month down and that means it is time for an update about Goop Troopers.

I spent this month working on quite a few things being added to the game. Most exciting I have begun working on 2 different sex scenes, one being for Rina and the other being a new scene with Ashley and the goopmen flyers. I am using their sex scene as a reason to update the flyer's graphics which have been in serious need of a looking at for a while now. They are also going to need a few grounded behaviors and sprites to make a sex scene possible so I have been doing tests with that.

I have built 2 more of the 8 way direction shots for the bike and while testing them in game found a bug in my current animation code that I fixed and will be implementing this fix on other aspects of the player character animations. I only have 2 more directions to animate and the grounded 8 way bike shots will be complete. I have been unable to make a pose I am happy with for the airborne and descending animations but I will make progress in July in that area.

I have also worked on a handful of the goopman super soldier sprites, they aren't 100% there yet but I am becoming happy with the way they look as I work on them. I am excited to work on his boss routines as I want to make him a challenging encounter.

I have been building and testing a flamethrower power up as well. It is not behaving how I want exactly right yet so it needs further development but it is started. I want it to work like the contra 3 flamethrower and currently it is a crude facsimile at best. I have an idea about the code to make it as I want so I just need to spend some time with it.

There are some miscellaneous updates I have made to the bike stage as far as small graphical updates here and there. I have also built a new gameplay element for the bike stage that I think will be fun to play around with and allow for some interesting gameplay. I am going to rebuild the current spawn list to support this new element and that brings me to my next update.

Last August I was invited to take part in the adult action bundle with many other developers. Again this year I have been invited to participate and I think its finally time to make stage 4 playable to the public in some form. I am going to take the tentacle build and update it for a public release in the next Adult Action bundle. Of course I will allow you guys to play it here first but I am very excited to get a new build in the hands of the public. Last year Goop Troopers was downloaded 2600 times from the bundle alone, it was a huge surge of new players and I was really grateful new players were trying the game out.

As much as I am grateful for new players though I am more grateful to you subscribers. I have felt a little burned out waking up, going to work, coming home taking care of my family, then going to work on the game to then go to sleep and start all over. Whenever I get that feeling I check my subscriber page and I see all the nice comments and ideas you guys send me and I know that the grind is worth it. I appreciate your support and motivation, it is incredibly powerful and has gotten me to my computer more nights than you guys know.

Hey everyone, it is the end of May and so it is time for an update on what has been going on with Goop Troopers.

I hope you have all gotten a chance to play the newest subscriber build which includes the new tentacle defeat scene! It also includes a new grenade power up as well as a pause button!

With the latest sex scene out of the way I can begin planning the next one as well as refocusing my attention on stage 4 graphics. A goal for June is to finish the 8 way shot sprites for idle, jumping and falling.

I have built many of the basic functions of the stage 4 mid boss and I am trying to come up with an appearance I am happy with at the moment. I have also built a new stage element for stage 4 that I am excited to design around.

When I was playing with the stage 4 spawn list I hadn't realized how many elements I have built for it, I am going to buckle down and focus on the art and missing elements of stage 4 and I think I am ready to build the stage in earnest.

I also think I need to spend some time this month working on a sex scene setup for the bike stage as it obviously can't be the same setup as a normal stage. I have a few ideas on how it can work so I would like to explore those ideas.

I have begun working on some basic sprites for Rina Tremor the 2nd member of Princess Squad to show up. For the squad girls I want them to be a bit more interactive events than your standard touch prisoner/save prisoner. In the levels will be places where the squad girl shows up and it will be important to help them accomplish a task or fend off some goopmen together, otherwise Ashley and the squad member could be caught!

There is a lot of work to be done to make the game I want to. Everytime I play the current build or work on some code I think about you my subscribers continuing to support the development of this game. There are a lot of talented developers and times are tough for everyone out there, I really appreciate the support my subscribers have provided for years now, a lot of you have been here from the very start! I want to thank you and to keep building Goop Troopers to be the best I can.

April just flew by so let me update everyone on the progress made on Goop Troopers.

The tentacle sex scene is almost complete, I am sorry I failed to have it ready in time this month. There are 6 more frames of leg holding tentacles and then the climax tentacle to finish and the animation is done. I made some mistakes while working on this animation and learned better methods to achieve effects I wanted more efficiently in the future. I appreciate your patience for this matter and I want to assure you a new build is coming soon.

Whenever I got tired of working on tentacles I would slip in some simple progress elsewhere in the game. In the upcoming build you will have access to screen clearing bombs and the ability to pause the game.

Pausing is very self explanatory, it was a simple night of coding to add the functionality and what it adds in convenience is huge. The other upside is the ability to pause defeat animations and catch your favorite frames! I'm trying to come up with a great Konami style pause sound to add to pausing.

Screen clear bombs are also added in the upcoming build. They need some tweaking and resource tied to them because I have them on infinite for testing purposes. They still have some bugs but I think they will be fun and a necessary element for me to consider designing around. If you blow up the huge wave of goopmen from stage 3 the audio stacking makes a horrible noise!

Both pausing and bomb need to have custom keys setup for use as well as configuration and as I add buttons I need to start offering gamepad configuration soon.

I need to hook the tentacle scene up in the gallery and unlocks progression. What is interesting is the gallery will be the best place to see the tentacle scene zoomed in as the locked camera during boss encounters prevents it normally!

There are bits of updates here and there that I am excited for you guys to see. I don't think I have published a build with the boat available to fight players yet. I want to apologize for how tunnel visioned I have been on finishing this tentacle sex scene. I thought I was closer to the finish line along time ago and now that I am actually nearing it i can see how wrong I was.

I have not experienced any burnout working on any facet of this game. When code isn't working I just want to try harder to fix the issue, when art doesn't exist I know I can make it even if it takes time. Your ongoing support tells me that it isn't for nothing and that if I keep working there are people that want to see it finished as much as me!

I want to get this scene out and released, I want to finish stage 4, and I really want to expand out the types of enemies fought in stages.

Hey everyone it is the end of March so lets get an update on what work has been happening with Goop Troopers.

More than anything else this month I have been working on the tentacle sex scene. I really wanted to get it done for a subscriber release this month but it just didn't happen. I want to apologize for that, I am working diligently on the animation and elements alongside of it. I have made really great progress with it  being my focus but these animations are very difficult for me and take a long time to get everything moving right.

All of Ashley is animated for the scene, I have also finished all frames of the tentacles holding her arms. I have finished all of the "main" tentacle animations in every part of the scene minus the climax. So all that is remaining on the scene are the tentacles holding Ashley's legs and the main tentacle of the climax scene. The leg tentacles will take a good chunk of time based off the arm tentacles but we are very close to the release so please have patience with me!

I have also updated the boss tentacle behaviors to allow the scene to happen in game and I am very happy with the changes made. I may do some gameplay balance changes for the tentacle hitbox in light of some of these updates but I am going to let it go as it currently is.

I also spent a bit of time this month updating the abilities of the orange goopman flyer enemy. If Ashley is below him he will now dive at her in an attempt to hit her. With further development this is how I will be able to implement a sex scene for these enemies. This will make this enemy much more useable than just a danger in aerial based areas of levels so be prepared to keep an eye out for them!

I am trying to increase the amount of time I work each night. It has currently been 2 hours every night with a bit more on weekends. I am going to try and work an extra hour each night because I am not satisfied with my progress and there is a lot of stuff still needing to be drawn, coded, or both!

Your support on this project is incredible to me, many of you have been supporters for a very long time and I never want you to feel like supporting this game is a waste for you. I promise to work even harder in the upcoming months because no one is going to get this project done if I don't do it myself!

Hey everyone February is wrapping up so let's go over the Goop Trooper end of month update.

I have been working on stage 4 for a good chunk of February, enemies, art and interactions.

The big project of this month was the tentacle sex scene. A few weeks in I wrapped up a loop of the animation and I began to realize how close I was to finishing it up. All of my working time has been devoted to working on the tentacle scene this month.

I have built out the functionality for the stage 1 and 2 bosses to perform the scene as well as updating some of the tentacle behaviors to facilitate as well.

The gallery implementation still needs to be built but that will be a few nights at most.

So my goal for the next release is to have the tentacle sex scene ready. All of my time working has been focused on finishing the animation. We are very close and I am doing my best to wrap it up and get it released!

Once I get this scene finished I am going back to working on elements for stage 4. I need to start work on a mid boss for the stage and wrap up some boat goopmen and the water section of stage 4 will be in a good place.

I apologize for the seemingly light end of month update, I just have been grinding out frames of animation and it is all I really have to show for this month but it needed to get focused on.
