Script #605
So there's this really funny coinkidink that happened in the comments section of last week's comic: someone wondered if Wondollar was pulling a Wally Wood on me and if he'd been deliberately increasing Heather's boobs over time to see if I'd notice. (See the origin story of Power Girl's giant boobs in DC Comics.)
And I did notice! Several months ago, as I was browsing through older comics, it struck me that she'd pretty much doubled in breast size and I hadn't intervened or even commented on it. So out of curiosity, just last week, as I sent the latest script, I asked if he had been doing this on purpose or if it was just accidental. The answer (where Wondollar confessed it wasn't deliberate) didn't really matter. Many weeks ago, I'd already decided I was going to roll with it and turn it into a plot point (which will be revealed in the next few weeks—no spoilers!).
This brings up the very interesting side-effects of collaborating with artists who aren't plugged into your brain and sometimes do things on their own, leaving you (and me) with the challenge of having to roll with the punches. (This also happened with Navarro/Cabrera in a Patience story I produced in the last few months.) It's kind of fun to realize something doesn't work or isn't consistent with the world you've created, then figure out a narrative that makes it work. It force you (the author/creator/writer) to twist things around and come up with a new approach that neither you nor your audience had anticipated.
So most of this chapter is going to be about that. And don't worry, there'll be plenty of sexy stuff along the way.
Stay tuned.
