Oh So Hero! Launch-versary & Roadmap

Hi everyone! Wow~ It's been a whole year since the launch of Oh So Hero! Act 1 on Steam and itch. To celebrate the anniversary, we had ThatPuggy create art for this occasion. Thanks, Puggy! And thanks to you all for buying and supporting our game! =}

In addition, we're happy to present our new development roadmap! It has been six years since our last roadmap. The road is long, but you wonderful people have all kept us supported and ready to ride~

This roadmap answers an important question: How many acts are in Oh So Hero? It's 3 Acts! As we mentioned at launch, the base game is Act 1, and the next two acts are paid DLC. When the three acts are completed and combined, it will create the full game experience we had planned from the beginning.

The focus of this roadmap is Act 2, which is now starting development. Red is full-speed ahead on Act 2, while I (Ket) am wrapping up some final post-launch work for Act 1 and supporting Red for Act 2 on the side. We have a lot of features planned for Act 2!

Obviously, there will be plenty of new characters! But also, thanks to a new level editor and increased dev experience, we'll be able to make Act 2 twice as big as Act 1. While Act 1 puts the "sex" in Sextroidvania, Act 2 will flesh out the "-troidvania" side of things in a way that shows our full passion for world building and level design. Of course, there will also be loads of hot, steamy animations to fill your time in Act 2~

But before we get to Act 2, we still have a couple updates coming to Act 1. A new version, v1.12, will be coming by June. This will have some minor improvements and difficulty balancing. Future Act 1 releases will arrive as the features and fixes are completed, including localization. A new free demo of Oh So Hero! will arrive later this year; it will have a similar scope as our previous Pre Edition II demo, but with some of the updates made to our latest version of Act 1.

Preparing this post has been a lot of work already, so we will have to say farewell for now. There are so many details we can get into, but we will continue to give sneak peeks to our backers through our ongoing development preview series. And when Act 1 work has wrapped later this year, we will also be providing development builds of Act 2 to backers as well. Hey guys, just dropping by real quick to let you know our next dev preview post will be on the 10th! Although we will soon start Act 2 dev releases, a lot of the early enemy art assets are close to done! So look forward to seeing them in action!

You will be seeing a couple of the new locations of Act 2 on the 10th, so I'll see you then!
